Melody has been swimming for as long as she could remember. She lives in a Victorian house in San Francisco with her mother, stepfather, and a stepsister. Her mother and sister are very kind to her but without them around, her stepfather treats her cruelly. Her mother figured out that Melody was a demigod when Melody had dove into a nine foot deep pool and came up to surface after 15 minutes underwater a few months ago. After that incident, her mother became overprotective of her and insecure. Her sister, having told by Melody's stepdad to stay away from her, followed her father's lead. Melody couldn't bear the feeling of being invisible so she ran away. She made it to Camp Half-Blood a few weeks later. Melody is friendly but she is good at hiding her thoughts and feelings.
