Long as time since I started, but bills are a b***h.
BUT, just finished buying all the parts to the actual equipment part of my studio.
So much money was put into it, from the $2,500, the $1,000 mic, and around $7,000 worth of other equipment. All that's left is a new place to set it up, and sound proofing equipment. I have a roommate in my apartment now, but the lease is about to be up soon...thinking I'll rent to own an actual house, so I won't have to worry about noise when it comes to people living next to me.

BUT! Besides that, you might actually start hearing some stuff from me. Been writing a lot and improving where I lacked, and refined myself a bit.
Learned how to spit faster when necessary, string along rhymes better, more on key and focused.
When I do get the booth running, I'll be willing to record on anybody's track, so just let me know.
The final parts of my studio come in in the next 5 days or so.

im discouraged in trying to record now..
really? you basically invested in like what $9500 just to spit a bar? I honestly thought that all you needed to make a decent recording was a mic and a software you can get or buy for like atleast $50

You're right. That's all you need to record, just about a few hundred maybe.
Hell, you could just get a USB Mic for about $100 and that's it.

But I wanted to get a professional studio, something that makes the music quality rival actual professional recording booths that top mainstream people record in.
It's quite common for underground emcees to spend a few thousand on a personal studio.

Besides, I have more than just a mic to record. There is also mixers, synthesizers, sound proofing, and other equipment to make the sound better and more professional or easier on the ears.
Not to mention the programs for recording and being able to make beats, scratches, mixes, or pretty much anything electronically that you could do to music that were quite costly, and also various MIDI's to make beats or just sound effects on tracks. I also splurged a little, and got me some Dr. Dre Beats headphones that cost me about $400...but damn they sound so good. HAHA (listening to them right now)

If you don't have the money to be able to buy all of that, you could just easily get a simple mic, start making music and hope somebody with a nice studio picks you up (possibly signs you if it's a record label), or if you have one in your city just a recording studio that charges you per hour.

If that's what you're aiming for, then a nice USB mic would be perfect for you.
I have one that I spent $400 on, a USB mic. Quality was really good for what it was, but I heard you could still get a good one for around $100-$200.

So who's recording soon. let me know people we can put something up
I promised myself, and my cousin, that we'll be recording something next week.
So what's up? If you want me to hop on something you recorded, let me know.
Or do you want me to record something, and send it your way for you to record over?
