Do a google search for "men's bento." Think of simple concepts that remind you of his likes, for example... music or his favorite sport.

Sailor Blue Rose Do a google search for "men's bento." Think of simple concepts that remind you of his likes, for example... music or his favorite sport. Eh yeah that's the thing, he plays sports, watches them sometimes but isn't one of those guys who buys things from a team or anything. He doesn't want me to make him one, but he eats shitty stuff at work and doesn't always have time to go buy lunch. So I want to force it on him, heh. I guess I'll just go with just some cool arrangement.

This may be a bit late but I have a few suggestions just based off of experience cooking bentos/lunches for my Dad, and bf to take to work.
Focus more on color coordinating, or arranging things in a way thats asthetically pleasing without making an outright or obvious design. Both of the males I cooked for at least (if served someting that was designed like a normal bento) would have the thought 'I wish shed spent more time on the food instead of just making it look pretty...' Even if you in reality didnt spend that much time making those music note designs, or happy face designs.
Make foods that are heavy, or will keep you full for a long period of time. This really depends on activity level, but the people I cooked for both do physical labor jobs so theyre burning a lot of energy. This will also keep down the junkfood snack temptation.
I have a few other tips or ideas I may add later if it turns out you found this helpful.

I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. It'll help me tailor my advice to your situation :3
What kind of work does your bf do? Is it physical labor job where their hands will be dirty and he probably doesnt have access to a microwave? Or does he work at a place with a set lunch time (How long does he usually have to eat lunch) ?

He has lunch whenever he wants for however long he wants (except when they're busy which is....a lot of the time) I mean it depends really, could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 I would assume. I don't tend to ask him how long he takes his lunch for every day.

(You learn to do so well when you have an art shop) I just really don't have the patience when I could be doing other things.
