------Connected directly to the bathing area inside the house, the onsen is a mixed bath, meaning that males and females alike can come here to relax, clothed or unclothed, after cleaning themselves in the inner showering area.
Once outside, the atmosphere is very relaxing, with steam pouring up from the spring, stones placed around it to afford a comfortable place to rest, as well as grips to raise and lower yourself from the baths.
At night, the onsen becomes practically magical, steam mingling with the usually well hidden lights that make the water sparkle like a sea of stars. The onsen is thoroughly cleaned every other day, to ensure it is kept pristine.
