So I watched a fanvideo about him, and the theme song was "Egoist"
Is he really that way?
Because many website's I've seen call him Miyavi Egoist or whatsoever... sweatdrop

After all, he's stated that his favorite artist is himself and his tattoo on his right arm is his fav. (tenjou tenka yuiga dokuson- I am the one and only. In heaven and on Earth.) he came up with that one himself. But MYV has good reason to have an ego. He's a flippin guitar deity!!!

Plus he's so talented, he plays the harmonica, the drums, and the piano, I think he's more of a perfectionist... He also plays soccers really good!

Yes, one cannot forget his soccer skills. He was really big on it while he was growing up but now he just plays it as a hobby whenever he can. heart

honestly, he's amazing and he konws it, but i think the egoist thing is a bit of an act. i think he does it because people like it. i get the feeling he's more down to earth, but fun loving and crazy and that's why it looks so real!

fishy asparagus honestly, he's amazing and he konws it, but i think the egoist thing is a bit of an act. i think he does it because people like it. i get the feeling he's more down to earth, but fun loving and crazy and that's why it looks so real! I agree with you too... Miyavi wanted to be a doctor before he got into the music scene, and that's not an agoist act.... he has also stated that he likes helping people how he cans... so he's no egoist...

Tenjou Tenge Yuiga Dokuson has actually been found to be a Buddhist quote. ^^;;;
But having such a Buddhist quote could be a sign of egoism in itself as he could be very well comparing himself to a deity.
There are other times though when he seems to kind of "lack" an ego. He actually seems pretty shy in some appearances like when he was on Hey Hey Hey, so for me that puts a question mark on how much of it is "real" and how much of it isn't.

yeah, I'm sure he knows he's cute but he does seem shy at times... then again what do we know? we've neve met him. If any of you have ever watched kare Kano then you know what I'm talking about....uhh..that doesn't make sense anymore rolleyes

That would make sense, especially since he changed one of the "ga" kanji to his own "miyabi". I think the ego is more of an act- except for his guitar skills, but even then is is quite humble about it.

i think he just tries to act like it. hes too shy to be an egoist. its his stage presence. kinda like i really dont think Kyo is really a scary person. xd And Gackt isnt so into himself... hehe...

yeah hes said in [older] interviews hes shy when he meets people. and that time when he turned 18 and went to a convienience store to buy porn but got too embarassed so got a pack of gum instead whee i think just when hes in front of cameras and his fans he wants to appear like that.
or... something...
