Review: If you havn't heard of Popcap's big game, you've largely been under a rock. Its a tactical tower defense style game where you place plants in columns of the yard on the left side, which shoot or have other effects on a stream of zombies coming from the right. If you even remotely like that style of game, this is a fantastic game. PvZ has already been on the PC, Xbox, DS cartridge, and god knows what else by now.
The main difference between this version and the cartridge version (other than the download is cheaper, the cartridge is around 19.99) is some modes aren't in it. There is no Puzzle, Survival, or multiplayer mode. There also isn't a Zen Garden, which is a totally optional mode where you collect and water the plants to earn coins so that depends if that matters to you. There is also not the Tree of Wisdom, so your main coin-sink is out. Minigames are intact, and it includes the new DS ones, as well as a unique Zombie Trap game. Personally, having played the other versions, I didn't miss those other modes much.
This game will keep you going for a while with a rich story mode and a ton of minigames. Each round is fairly short but it'll keep you wanting more as you unlock new plant types and get to increasingly difficult levels. You can then replay it with all your plants and try different strategies.
Recommended even if you've played the game before, its a nice portable version and well-adapted for DS play. The graphics obviously are a little less than say PC, but still look great.
