Male Lovebird
All your life, you've only known the art of fighting. You were born and raised a warrior, and were taught to never show your emotions, to friend and foe alike. You had no trouble complying with these orders, until you met... her. But the two are you are nothing alike. She's sweet, bubbly... nothing like you. Yet despite this, you still wish to convey your feelings to her, one way or another. Do you stay true to yourself, or decide to change yourself completely to try and win her over?

Female Lovebird
You have a passion for sewing and fashion, and desire to become an aspiring seamstress one day. Your first project yielded the bird plush you carry, and to you it's a good luck charm, you don't go anywhere without it. Bubbly, cheerful, you had no problem getting along with anyone, and had no problem expressing your feelings. That is, until you met... him. He's nothing like you. Strong, serious, he doesn't seem like the type who would like a super bubbly girl... or like stuffed animals. Yet knowing this, do you still remain true to yourself, or throw away everything you've become to try and win his favour?

HERE IS MY STORY...
Prompt: Funanya sat up in a tree, much like the birds she so enjoyed turning into plushies. The trees were a good place for one to find new models for stuffed animals. And she was finding she enjoyed the height it gave her. She wasn't the largest of Renari and she liked the height it gave her over the other species she lived near. It also kept her safe from some of the larger species. But most of all, it was an excellent place to think. And thinking was something Funanya had a lot of need to do.

Lately, there had been a new Renari spotted in the forest where she made her home. One with a very close color scheme to her. At first, she found this intriguing and would follow him around in the treetops, spying from behind leafed branches. His eyes were even the same color as hers. What were the odds?

The more she spied on him, the more she noticed the thumping her chest was doing. She was afraid to approach him, yet she couldn't seem to take her large red eyes off him. What was it about him? The fact he looked like her? Or something else? She barely knew him! She shouldn't be feeling that way!

At least not yet.

Try as the Renari could, it was no use. She couldn't avoid him, finding she just didn't want to keep him out of her sight. Not even once when she'd fallen out of her tree right in front of him. Blushing a deep crimson, she had scurried back the opposite way before he could open his mouth. He was so tough and strong. How would a girlie seamstress like herself catch his attention, aside falling out of more trees? She wasn't going to do that. It hurt!

So, instead, she sat in her tree and thought about what to do. Behind her was the hole where her home was, filled to the brim with her stuffed animals. The only option she could find was to make him a special plushie. But a boy like him wouldn't like that, would he? Boys like him liked mud and dirt and rough-housing, right? Well, she couldn't give him dirt or bake him a mud pie. She had no oven! If he even ate dirt. Surely he didn't. Blegh.

Without a gift, what would she do? Her personality wasn't enough as its own. Not that she was insecure. Nor arrogant, while we're on the subject. Just that he was so tough, he'd never be able to stand her. A Renari so much his opposite in all but color scheme. Even his choice of clothing was different from hers.

Funanya sighed, hugging the little lovebird closely. She didn't like not telling someone how she felt about them. Whether it was about friendship or even dislike, she had to do something about what she was feeling. If she just went up and told him, he would likely laugh at her. But she so wanted to meet him.

"I could....I know! He's a tough boy, Polly," the little Renari spoke to her stuffed bird, holding it out in front of her. "So I'll be a tough girl. That is like to get his attention."

The next day, Funanya dawned a scarf around her head in place of her hat. The scarf wasn't as punk as she hoped it would look. For one, it was pink and covered in white flowers. It was, unfortunately, the best she could do for now. In place of her bows she tried to tie little bones into the fur, but all she managed to do was make a mess of her fur. At the end of it, she just gave up and decided to try the untidy theme she seemed to have created with her mess-up. She practiced for hours in front of the mirror not smiling. Tough girls didn't smile. Not unless they wanted to look devious. And the rest of her fur she had left uncombed. Better to look bad than good in this situation, right?

With the outfit complete and a scowl upon her face, she set out to find him. It didn't take long. He was there, doing what looked like training on the trunk of a tree. She strolled up to him, trying not to sway in her usual, cute manner when she walked. It was quite difficult. She almost stumbled half a dozen times by the time she reached him. All he did was look at her with his eyes widened. Good, thought she. At least I've got his attention.

Her mouth opened to say hi, when another idea came to mind. Instead of speaking, she balled up a fist and punched the tree trunk as hard as she could. The pain that followed was so intense, she fainted on the spot, so unused to so much of it. When she awoke, he was still there, looking down at her with concerned eyes. She learned that day she didn't need to be something she wasn't. He had felt the same for her, exactly the same, since the first time he'd seen her. With a smile, she hugged and thanked him and offered to make him a special stuffed animal.

He agreed that would be lovely.

HERE IS MY STORY...
Prompt:

It was the biggest fight of the season, and I was going up against a guy twice my size. I needed a little encouragement, so I allowed the cheers of the crowd to filter into my consciousness. I felt my heart soar as I heard them cheering for me, the underdog, and then skip a beat when one voice became apparent to me, purer and sweeter than the rest. She was a female of my species, holding up a plushie made to look like me, and calling out "Go Alex! You can do it!" She must be my biggest fan, I thought, She's so beautiful. And then I felt it.

He had knocked me out in one punch. I was so embarrassed - in front of all those people, I had let my emotions get the best of me. All my training and dedication wasted in one moment, because of a silly girl. And yet, somewhere deep in my heart, below all the embarrassment and anger, I felt something light and bubbly. Slowly my mouth spread into a smile, a rare countenance for me, and my eyes opened as I regained consciousness.

To my surprise, she was there! She was leaning over me with one paw on my face, and it was her tears that had awakened me, falling onto my face in tiny drops. It was like she thought I would never wake up.

"Don't worry, silly girl," I said. "I'm a fighter. I always get back up. The only thing dead is my career." I realized the words were too harsh as soon as I had said them. I could read her emotions on her face like a book. She started to leave, clearly embarrassed by her show of affection to a stranger, but I couldn't let her go.

"Wait! Come back! What's your name?" Even if she had cost me my career, I knew that I had to have this girl in my life.

HERE IS MY STORY...
Prompt: It had been three days since she had appeared just outside of the shrine's borders. Three days since he had been able to focus on anything else. The more he tried to push her from his mind the more the thought of her sweet face returned to the foremost of his thoughts. When no one was looking he would relax and let the corners of his mouth arch upward in some strange expression. It was troublesome yet pleasant, it was a problem that would not go away.

Jack had learned the only way to face a problem was to confront it and overcome it. With his head held high he went to the outskirts of the forest to confront his "problem" face-to-face.

However, as he neared her he could feel his stone cold expression melting and his face beginning to burn. Her eyes were so soft, so gentle, not even a rose could compare in beauty. When he finally reached the tree she had been sitting in he looked more lost than determined. Being so prepared for battle and unprepared for love he had no idea what to do now.

He looked up to the beauty in the tree, who was now giggling at him, and cleared his throat.

"....." He opened his mouth yet nothing came out. The woman continued to giggle at him angelically.

Perhaps, perhaps this was "love"? Jack had heard rumors of this powerful entity striking the hearts of even the bravest soldiers. Such a powerful force, and she possessed it! She possessed him! But how to win something like that?

Jack cleared his throat again. "You have made my face burn..." He spoke flatly as he has always in the past.

The giggling stopped for a moment as the beauty in the tree blinked than continued with a clear enchanting laughter.

Jack frowned. In any other circumstance he could fight his way to resolution, however, this time he could not figure out how to obtain his desire. This angel had managed to force him to go against everything he had been taught. She was like nothing he had ever seen before. It was refreshing to see one so full of life, so full of positive emotion, something he had never had! He could not be parted from it!

A southward breeze blew across the tops of the trees causing them to shiver in its wake. Jack caught sight of a crimson flower not far into the forest. He looked from the flower to the angel in the trees than back at the flower. Without a second thought he strode toward the flower. Perhaps a gift? The flower was like her eyes, perhaps they would work the same way. He would have her yet! Jack plucked the flower with his maw than whipped around at the sound of frightful screams. He dropped the decapitated plant than dashed toward the angel in the trees.

It didn't take long for him to see the cause of her distress. A large black beast with piercing yellow eyes and great horns begun to climb the tree with maw wide open and razor fangs glistening in the sun. Jack launched himself at the beast's thick tail just as it snapped up the angel's stuffed animal.

The beast howled than whirled around to face Jack. It brought its massive paw down toward him. Within a blink Jack leapt out of the way and let the beast claw its own tail. It yipped than snarled as it spit out the mangled stuffed animal than charged after its new target. Jack leapt onto its narrow face before impact and begun to claw at its eyes with his smaller and less impressive claws. The beast reared and Jack leapt back to the ground below just as the beast grabbed at its own face. In one final attack Jack scaled the side of the beast than removed a good chunk from one of its long pointed ears. The beast howled in pain before fleeing back into the depths of the forest once again.

Jack spit the chunk of ear out than turned to retrieve the mangled stuffed bird. He picked it up gingerly before returning to his angel's side. By now she was shivering against the trunk of the tree with her eyes shut tight. Jack leapt up to the thick branch in a single bound than dropped the stuffed animal by her side. When she turned to see the stuffed animal than a blood stained Jack her eyes watered. In the next moment she threw herself on him in a thankful embrace.

Jack blinked than his expression softened. He had figured out how to win his angel after all.

HERE IS MY STORY...

Prompt:
He appeared not too long ago. But his very presence has stirred up Elidie’s life as she knew it, and surely things were never going to be the same again. There was something about this boy…something she had never seen before. It piqued the girl’s curiosity and interest, which increased with every time she saw him on the top of her lookout post. But why was she so intrigued by him..?

“Just look,” Elidie would mumble quietly to herself, her arms wrapped around her treasured stuffed bird, her chin resting on its little head, “He’s completely the opposite of you…what are the chances?” With an exasperated sigh, the female would scamper down from her lookout post, and return home for the day with her good luck charm. Just hoping that one day, luck will come in her favor…and shorten the gap between them somehow.

Her mind was always lingering on the topic of the mysterious male, the pessimistic thoughts whispering to her, “You don’t have a chance,” while the more optimistic viewpoints told her, “Don't worry, opposites attract!” Thinking positively was something that came to Elidie naturally, but of course, there was always the nagging reality that she always kept in the back of her mind. Nevertheless, the childish daydreams and twinges of hope kept Elidie motivated enough to stop by her lookout each day, just to observe her object of interest.

One particular sunny day, Elidie had decided that her little birdy friend was lonely, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to provide another companion. She then brought along enough materials and tools to make another one of her precious creations up to her headquarters. Perched upon her little nest, the girl threaded the needle and sewed away, all the while observing the mysterious Renari from higher ground without his knowledge. After some sewing, patching and designing--her masterpiece was complete! Another little lovebird was born into this world, and to Elidie’s surprise, the bird was modeled right after him, headband and all…

Giving her finished product a loving squeeze, the girl chuckled to herself and placed the new plush to the side while she tidied up her workspace. But to her misfortune, the lovebird was unbalanced and fell off from her little piece of heaven and began to fall down to earth.

“Oh no!” she wailed in horror, paws cupped over her mouth, “He’s down there! He’ll see it!” Frantically climbing down from her headquarters, the little Renari tried her best to scamper down as fast as she could--she couldn’t risk the fact that a boy like him would see such a childish creation! Especially when it was so similar to him! Especially when it was created by someone like her!

At last, Elidie’s back paws touched the blades of grass and she immediately whirled around--only to find her newest project in the paws of the mysterious Renari. Oh no! She was too late! But wait…why was he smiling at her..?
