I had a really joyful ritual the other day for Lammas so I decided to ask: what was a religious experience you've had lately (or a long time ago for that matter) that filled you with joy?

For me it was Beltaine last year. I brought my (Catholic) boyfriend along and he really enjoyed it too. The reason why I liked it the was mostly because this was the first time I'd ever done anything in a group and just to be working with a group of like-minded people made me feel quite happy and at home.

I'm trying to remember what the ritual was but there were brightly colored drink umbrellas in people's hair, a kiddy pool, and lots of dancing. I'll get back to you on it.

"Joy" doesn't really fit what most of my experiences have been lately- they're amazing and wonderful, and even funny at times, but I know what Joy feels like to me and this is something else. cat_sweatdrop

I...actually don't think I've ever really felt joy as a religious experience. Except for the time I climbed a mountain back before I had fully become Pagan. I think that was mostly the endorphins.
