So for those of you that don't know anything about Steampunk, I first sugest that you look it up somewhere, or if you are too lazy you can just keep reading this page. ^_^ Steampunk at it's core essence is based upon what the future would lok like acording to persons that lived in the 1800s. This time period is better known as the Victorian era though saiying victorian puts a very definate feel on it the whole sub culture. Most everything in Steampunk still has the feel of victorian elegance and steam power. A lot of steampunk artists take modern things and try to make it's outward appearance look as if it was built then rather than now, by giving it copper and leather covers and intricate lace work. There are a lot of steampunk outfits out there to look at and the sub culture is just that, a culture. A massive group of persons flock to conventions and various other types of gatherings put together for steampunk. Some people even go as far as making their entire home have a steampunk feel to it by using old fashioned stoves and hardwiring it with the most inovative tech known to us, or by bringing in a lot of nautical type decor usually in copper and brass tones. One maor thing that is on just about every single piece of steampunk I've seen is that they all seen to have watch gears on them in of course copper or brass.

Now onto my goal with this Sub Forum of the guild.

My goal is simply this to create a second life setting based around what you would want to be doing in the world of steampunk. Take your dream job and make it a reality here. Use as much elegance as you can in creating you work of art and life and interact as much as possible with one another. Take into consideration things that were socially acceptable back in the 1800s (or if you need a movie reference you can look at the movie Titanic and mimic the high class feel of the first class group of people) However steampunk isn't just the fanciful high society, there are mechanics as well that work on wonderful flying machings that seem to resemble junk ships or even derigibles. There are adventurers of many sorts and even the few scoundrels that would be seen very much like the mobsters of the 50s only they dress like the 1800s. If you would like to take on this challenge and need a little help I am more than willing to give a creative and artistic hand.

If you would like to say more about steampunk please do it here, or if you found a really cool image you would like to share please post it here for everyone. Thanks ^_^
