Jinx followed Scarlet into the clearing. He stretched his forelegs out before him and arched his back, letting out a low growl of satisfaction. He straightened up and bared his teeth in a vicious snarl, envisioning the wretched cats before himself. "Ready?" The grey wolf snarled, his ocher eyes dark with an unreadable emotion. A deep guttural growl escaped him as he prepared to battle against his longtime friend and ally.

Jinx dropped into a crouch. He had been friends with Scarlet since they were pups and knew better than any of the other pack members of her speed, and he was ready. Her weight came crashing down on his and he allowed in to drop him to the ground; however, he twisted, and snarling, raised his head, sinking his teeth into her foreleg. Jinx was one of the strongest wolves in the pack and wasn't a force to be reckoned with. With the red wolf's foreleg in his mouth, clamped between his teeth, he made to throw her forwards, off of his back and onto the hard packed earth.

Jinx jerked his head back and snarled as the cloud of dust flew into his eyes, temporarily blinding him and clogging his mouth and nose. In an instant he was crashing down onto his side, Scarlet having swiped his hind paws out from under him. The delta male rolled onto his back and back onto his paws, away from Scarlet. He reared onto his hind paws, pushing off leaping towards her. With his powerful back legs, he landed on Scarlet's far side, snarling as he whipped around, biting at her shoulder, hooping to get a secure hold and throw her down onto her side, leaving her soft underbelly exposed.

Jinx found himself on his back, under Scarlet, the breath driven from his lungs. He felt her push off his stomach and grunted painfully. He rolled to his paws panting. Scarlet was a good distance away from him now. He shifted him weight, dropping lower so his shoulders swung a bit as he padded towards her, power being displayed in his every movement.

In an instant he dropped, with a vicious snarl he pushed off the ground and crashed into her. Pinning Scarlet to the hard earth, he drew his lips back, growling deep in his throat. He kept his forepaws on her shoulders and pushed all of his weight down, holding her in place with his greater mass.

Jinx closed his jaws around her throat, firmly enough to let her know that he had won their little scuffle, but not hard enough to make her gasp for breath or do any damage.

He released the she-wolf and sat back, allowing her to get up and speak of where they could both improve on their fighting skills.

Jinx padded towards Scarlet. "Yes," he allowed."I need to work on my hearing and, yeas, your defense could use work, but you used your speed well against my great strength and weight." He bowed his head, licking the wound he had inflicted on his friend's shoulder. "Sorry," he muttered. He hadn't intended on biting her so hard, it had been not only reflex, but he hadn't realized the strength that he possessed in his jaws, it was something he still wasn't the best at calculating.

He now sat back and look at her. "You did well with your dust trick, using your brains to get the upper hand, if only temporarily." Jinx stretched, his soar muscles protesting. It felt good to get a chance to fight a worthy opponent like Scarlet.

Jinx couldn't steps himself from snarling at the cub Scarlet chased down. He rcognized the cub in an instant. She was Shiela. The cub wasn't with her mother, which was surprising.

The large grey wolf drew his lips back, snarling a the cub. "You should be with you mother," he growled dangerously. Jinx was ready to launch off into scolding the cub, but he would leave that to Scarlet. She was far better with cubs than he was, he would likely end up terrifying the cub.
