I've seen several LP's of Dark Descent, and every player seems to have his or her own ideas as to Daniel's nature as a person. I'm curious to see how my fellow fans see Daniel's alignment, whether they've played or not.

I personally think he's a good, right-hearted guy who got desperate and let his fear and lack of knowledge of what to do lead him to taking the wrong person's advice. Many might argue that if he were, he'd have known better when Alexander asked him to murder people. But what we have to keep in mind is this:
Daniel was SCARED. OUT. OF. HIS. MIND. Literally. He was just on this expedition with no clue what to expect, and suddenly he finds out some unnatural Shadow is trying to hunt down and kill him, and he has no idea what to do. He was so scared and clueless, of course he was willing to believe anything! And on top of that, if you were being stalked by some evil presence, would it not make sense to you that it might be appeased by bloodshed or death? You have to admit, Alexander had an excuse for every angle, and they were good. He knew how to sound like he knew what he was talking about. I don't blame Daniel for what happened. That's just me.
