Les Miserables is my favorite musical, so I have to ask if anyone else here likes it.

I have to disagree with you on that. Please respect my opinions. I went to see it, and I thought there was too much storyline for one musical (following a whole country). I couldn't even figure out what the story was. Some of the music was good, but personally, it was one of my least favorite musicals.

Oh I love this musical! It's so indepth and awesome (bad discriptive word, I know.) Anyway, I have loved this musical for so long. My favorite character would have to be Eponine! Though I love the songs that Cossett has! I agree, it's just an all around favorite!

i love it, except when trying to explain the plot - that is absolutley impossible. i tried to explain it to a friend once and ended up drawing a diagram
i never saw it in person, but i know the songs by heart and i adore the book. it's just a great musical all around

Les Mis is definitely one of my top favorite music. The music and lyrics are so powerful and the characters are wonderful. I read the book and the musical is more loyal to the book than pretty much any other musical I've ever seen based on a book.
My favorite character is also Eponine because she's self-sacrificing and such a sad character. I actually kinda like Javier, too, for some strange reason.
My school did the school version before I went there.... It was amazing but I was they could have held off a view years for me to be in it. crying

I was in it over the fall. <3 2+ Months of practicing, with Ensemble. We made a DVD. :B It was amazingly fun, but really difficult. URGH! My skirt was like, too long, so Master of the House was just..*Head clucth* @__@
Thought it was great fun to flee offstage in panic during the Beggars. 'RUN! JAVERT!' Our Javert look like a kitty. Heh.
*I* can explain the plot. oo; Once you've been in it, read the book, seen it and preformed a hundred thousand times over, you know it fairly well. My only regret is that you saw NONE of the girls in the background of Drink WIth Me. D< That makes me mad. I got into that song with like, eight other people, and we were completely ignored. So much for the chorus being the most important bit of the show. rolleyes But its alright. I'm used to it anyway!
High School plays + Les. Mis= The making for an awesome time. However, I missed the cast Party because my mom fled the house to a hotel. My parents were arguing and I went with her and dragged a friend along. *Sigh* Oh well. Theres always the next musical! heart

I was lucky enough to be in this musical last summer... just chorus (I was supposed to be tech but they needed altos and prostitiues XD) and it was great. I love Eponine! Awwww <3 I'm seeing it in June too, when it comes to Dallas.

thelovelyLIZ (I was supposed to be tech but they needed altos and prostitiues XD) that's quite possibly the funniest thing i've ever heard. biggrin i LOVE les mis. i saw it for my last birthday with my best friend and we pretty much haven't stopped singing "do you hear the people sing" to each other. i'm not sure if i even have the vocabulary to proberly explain...it just grabs you and won't let go. the only character i don't care for is cosette (because we all know eponine is cooler. psh.)

I've never seen the whole show, but I've seen the concert version--which is basically where they do all the musical numbers in costume with props, and have subtitles that explin the rest of the plot. Our chorus is doing a Les Mis medley for our final concert (in a week!!!), and I got one of the solos! Well, okay, it's a duet. So I exaggerate. But it's my favorite song: Bring Him Home. So, I'm happy.

Ergh^_^ I despise you all! I love Les Miz. I would love to see it live, or especially be IN it! It's one of my all time favorite musicals, and I fell in love with it after having to sing a medly of the songs for choir in 7th grade. Ever since then, It's been my dream to be a in a production^_^

I was fortunate enough to see the traveling Broadway run on it's last tour through Seattle...ever. A few years ago I was given the book and cds and fell in love with it, and a year later landed the role of Thenardier in a student production. My girlfriend(now fiancee) landed Cosette. I find the music and plot to be so in-depth that it constantly fascinates me.
