I have been a reading fool... and that is why I haven't been doing much crafting lately. Lol!
Anyhoo, I am always interested in series recommendations. I like Urban Fantasy books and I am currently ensnared by the Hollow's series by Kim Harrison, Alpha and Omega as well as the Mercy Thompson series' by Patricia Briggs and the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine.

The last thing I read was The Flood, by Margaret Atwood, which was the follow up to Oryx and Crake. Both were good, but way depressing. Interesting dystopian fiction.

Otherwise I'm working on Spook Country, which is the middle book in a loosely formed trilogy after Pattern Recognition, by William Gibson. Love that man, even if his writing style irks me sometimes.

I just read a book called My Lobotomy: A Memoir.

Talk about depressing! This book was pretty much a man named Howard recounting his life. As a child he had a horrible home-life with a stepmother who, for some reason that will never be known, absolutely hated him. So much so that she built up lies to make him look schizophrenic and pressed for him to get a lobotomy at the age of 12. After the lobotomy he was forced by her from the home and lived in and out of mental institutions and juvie because no one would take him in.

Over all it was an easy read. I picked it up for the lobotomy aspect since I wanted to know more about the topic (I'm weird like that.) It wasn't exactly what I expected it to be but, it's all right.

Okay, just read Kim Harrison's latest in the Hollow's series, A Perfect Blood. Anyone familiar with this series or the characters?
I am having mixed feelings about the general direction of the characters at this point and I went up and down about some of the developments within this book.
Regardless, I ate through it, rather giddy-like.

Another book I just finished like, an hour ago, was the latest Patricia Briggs, of the Alpha and Omega series, Fair Game.
This series is fairly young and the characters are cross-referenced in her Mercy Thompson series. I am a bit torn about what to think of this series. I liked the start of it and then kind of go back and forth on whether to enjoy the character of Anna or abhor her. Character development aside, I felt this book seemed to be lacking something that the previous had but I can't put my finger on what it was.
