So I went over to Target a few weeks ago, and saw the first few Animorphs books!! At first I thought it was cool, but dissappointed that the cover was changing and no more flappy comic, but was really happy cause then more kids would read it, and then Animorphs would be alive again! XD
Then I looked at the Scholastic page, and viewed the character profiles, and yeah, they definitely changed them. My shocking discovery was that Rachel is not Xena anymore, but "Storm" from X-men!!
It's so sad that they had to rewrite the books for current stuff. I haven't read the new ones, so I"m wondering what they changed fromt the 90's content.
Cellphones, internet, and gaming are so different now. Leggings and skinny jeans are pretty fashionable now, so are they worried about skintight clothing issues?
Agh, so what are your thoughts on the new editions? smile

I have yet to check them out yet. I don't think they sell them at the campus bookstore, which is the only bookstore near me. But wow. I'm surprised they updated that. It's a bit sad that they did.. I really hope they don't change too much though. I like that they were a bit outdated. I thought they were only going to update mistakes that they had made, not the timeline.
They took out the flappy comic? Dx That was awesome! They should have kept it. Give people motivation to at least flip through the book just to see it. Maybe they'd see something awesome that they liked. Oh well.

I have all the rereleases so far (up to #6), but I've only read the first two... OTL
I've heard that Rachel is still called Xena in later books though. The Storm reference was supposedly in the originals to begin with.
The covers are really cool, and I'm definitely planning on buying any further reprints to support them smile
