Frederick smith planned on having a regular day for once. No orcs, no paladins, no zombies... just practice his craft and sell some of it to the locals. When he awoke. His gauntlet instead of the nice flaming warmth it provided. It seemed to be a little heavier... and glowed a strong green color. "Good morning spirit?" He looked at it. It spoke back to him and it seemed different. He ignored it until later today...
A carriage of horses broke out against the rider. The rider flying off the carriage and the horses charged down the road towards his smith. He saw them and saw a kid stunned on the street. Either from fear or the noise.
Frederick jumped in front of the kid. He drew out his greatsword, and somehow with intense strength he threw his greatsword at the chains of the horses. He managed to get enough force to cut them up, and the horses split. The carriage however still rolled towards him. He raised his gauntlet like a large shield. The carriage smashed into him. Breaking apart. Somehow, none of the wood and metal pierced him. The kid still standing behind him in surprise. Frederick stood up. Looking down at the boy.
"You ok kid?"
The boy nodded and fled to his parents. A few cheers arose from the houses when the horses were captured.
Frederick looked around, then at his gauntlet. "You changed today... but why? And how?" He seemed to have been talking to someone for a while. Then he nodded.
