 Rurouni Kenshin takes place during the early Meiji era in Japan, telling the story of a peaceful wanderer named Himura Kenshin, formerly known as the assassin "Hitokiri BattÅsai". After participating in the the Bakumatsu war, Kenshin wanders the countryside of Japan offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin.

I love this series so much. heart It's an enjoyable read and the anime is amazing too.
It's old, but the dubbing is good. That's pretty rare. wink
|

I absoloutly HATE the anime, but the manga is better. (A very common thing -____-) The manga goes on further and after the Shishio chapter, everything was fake T^T I hate when they make extra things like that...Kenshin's past was so sad D':> But Rurouni Kenshin is the best manga ever! <3<3

(A very common thing -____-) The manga goes on further and after the Shishio chapter, everything was fake T^T I hate when they make extra things like that...Kenshin's past was so sad D':> But Rurouni Kenshin is the best manga ever! <3<3 Personally, I like it when anime is different from the manga.
It's like you get two different stories-- and sometimes hearing that it's different makes people want to experience the other.
So you shouldn't hate the anime just because it was different.

And Samurai X explored Kenshin's past pretty well, IMO.

I only watched the beginning of the anime because I didn't like it very much, but I love the manga. It is amazing, and is one of the first mangas I ever read.
