 The series is set in an alternative present, where the world is split by three superpowers, Britannia, The Chineses Federation, and the European Universe (EU). The story takes place after the Holy Britannian Empire's conquest on Japan in August 10, 2010 a.t.b., by means of Britannia's newest weapon, the "Armored Autonomous Knight", or Knightmare Frame. In turn, Britannia effectively strips Japan and its citizens of all rights and freedoms, and renames the country Area 11 with its citizens referred to as elevens. The story follows the exiled prince, Lelouch Lamperouge, a boy who ultimately wants to make a better world for his blind sister. (And find out who killed his mother while he's at it.)

Eh, it's just I read somewhere that you see someone who looks a lot like him walking away. in the last ep. C.C is lying on a truck bed talking to someone. i always thought it was Lelouch?

Now, before I speak my opinion on this anime, I don't mean to dis it, but I watched the first episode and was like "...ok then..." and wasn't interested in it. My friend said to continue watching it and give it a chance because it got better, but in my opinion, i'm not gonna sit down and wait for something to interest me when it didn't interest me in the beginning.

Wait...who is his mother? Marianne vi Britannia, the one that was assassinated within the Aries Palace right in front of Nunnally's eyes that's what caused her not to open them again. ^_^

I know I'm a tad late, but I forgot to post this.
The creators of CG flat out said in an interview that Lelouch is in fact dead, and that that is the only way that the series could have possibly ended. For his death was the milestone for that world.
They squashed all theories about him being alive.
