A beast reared up, giving a loud roar as an expression of its power. They always acted like this when trying to protect their territory. It also did it in the face of a new foe, one that was about to end its life.
The opponent gave a small grin, before drawing two blades, which flared with both fire and ice. It then took a stance, ready to face the creature, like so many before it.
The creature, and Ithbil, gave another roar, its gaping maw swaying back and forth, and it always baffled the opponent how a creature could have no bones or muscles attaching the lower jaw to the rest of the head and still be able to control the mouth normally. Whatever, the foe didn't care, and rushed the beast. The battle was on!
The Ithbil reared on its hind legs, trying to gain an advantage over the foe, but the opponent quickly slashed its swords down, scraping the beast's soft stomach. Blood soon stained the blades, and the fur of the beast as it fell down and swiftly died.
The foe put its swords away before muttering something and leaving the scene.

A rhythmic noise could be heard, and it was the cuckoo clock it belonged to. A person rose out of bed like a vampire from a coffin before yawning. Throwing the covers off and swinging their legs out of bed, the person slowly woke up. "Another day. Woop-de-do."
They looked to a corner of the room, where two instruments of death lay propped against the wall. They were swords, one in an orange and red scabbard, the other in a light blue and white one. The person walked over to them. "Good morning you two." they said, strapping the blades to their back, who greeted in kind by giving a notion as only weapons could do. "Is that so?" the person asked. "Well I don't know how well it'll work Pyros. After all, you are a blade." the weapon glowed red with anger, while the other glowed blue with calm, tring to quell its twin. "Thank you Polar. You always seem to be the voice of reason to your brother." The blades' light dimmed back to normal, the fight over as quickly as it started. Such was life for the owner. "Well, time for breakfast."
The girl walked downstairs, and headed for the kitchen. Though small, the girl had managed to whip up a variety of dishes. The usual was bacon and eggs, and since they had some on hand, they figured it would do.

Once breakfast was over, the person grabbed their boots and headed outside. They sniffed the air of the morning sun, fresh dew, and...smoke? Turning to look where the smell was coming from, the person saw someone with a barbeque, as they fried up some meats. "Kinda early for that, isn't it?" they mumbled to themself. the blue blade wavered. "I guess. Some people do like steak with their eggs." The red blade notioned this time, and rather urgently at that. "Pyros, Pyros, Pyros. Although I'm not giving hope, we're about as close to finding a clue as the next person." They then looked down the street, towards the gates of town. "Here goes nothing. Again."
As the person reached the southern gates of Maccarran, one of the guards spoke up. "At it again Jenta?"
The one named Jenta turned around. "Yeah I am. Thanks for caring Scott."
Scott laughed a little, his features quite evident against his round frame. Though the man was rotund, he was every bit as jolly and caring as the next. Jenta considered the man a father figure. "Such spirit. Well good luck!"
"Thanks! I hope I find something this time!" Jenta waved as she continued down the southern road. In moments, she would be out in the field, ready to take on the world for a sixth time. I will find you, whatever it takes. For you will always be, then and forever, my friend.
