Hey again!

Ok, basically, I'm asking you all for ideas for a character in one of my stories. He is a Khorne Berserker, and he's living about a year or so before the third Armageddon war.
Here's what I've already got for his character.

- he's in a small roving Berzerker warband, just roaming for stuff to kill.

- he's more "civilized" than other Berzerkers; the other Berzerkers he's with are all the stereotypical Berzerkers, out for blood, gore, and skulls. As a result of this difference, he's often irritated by those around him - somewhat of an "I'm surrounded by idiots..."-perspective.

- He's addicted to soft drinks (no diet drinks or non-caffeine drinks). Unfortunately, when he runs out of soda, he gets terrible headaches which don't stop until he gets more caffeine in his system. These headaches make him irritable.

- Unlike most Berzerkers, he prefers to use heavy weaponry as opposed to close-combat weapons. (That's not to say he can't - just that he prefers not to.)
He likes to use heavy bolters and flamer weapons, but if he's pushed into a corner, he can use regular bladed weapons like swords and axes.

That's all I've got so far for his character quirks. If you have any ideas to make him more different, or for a funy situation to put him in, please post ay ideas here? Any help's appreciated

do they even have soft drinks as we know it, also is he from a comdey style story or a serious one, as most if not all Khornes berserkers are pretty much well nuts and fueled for battle, the only thing i can say to make seem cooler and more collected is that he focus's the rage properly and has a very strong power of will but in truth need to no more about the story and what makes him as he is so we can give ya better ideas

It's a mix of both comedy and serious adventure, and the story's basically about his adventures.
So any side plots you think would be fun or funny to have a Khorne Berserker go thru, go ahead and put em up here. ^^

Not all Khornate warriors are psychotic killing machines. Depending on the codex you read some are just as hoity toity as some Space Marines are and are only out to challenge their skill against the best warriors of the universe. The Skull Taker is a perfect example. He travels about and his goal is simply to fight the best. Where others like the Berserkers, Blood Letters, and Skarbrand who are simply killing machines. I mean s**t, even other Blood Thirsters aren't crazed killing machines until unleashed on the fields of battle.

The 3.5 Chaos Codex has their psychotic state as an actual rule; the Blood Frenzy. They gain 1D6 movement distance at a max of 12" obviously, have to run (if they aren't in assault range) toward the closest enemy unit that turn or they have to assault the closest enemy unit to them. Sweeping advances are forced as well. If they were in transports they leave them to move toward the enemy on foot. It was a turn by turn skill. So they were perfectly capable of being sane warriors until they tripped out and went on a killing spree. Of course there were ways to make them easier to Blood Frenzy (Banner of Burning Blood, 2D6 any 1s and 2s sent them into the Frenzy) and ways to make HQ's perpetually remain in it (Berzerker Glaive, Double base attacks, grants a +4 invul, power weapon, loses the ability to join units, have a retinue or war hounds, and can't enter a transport).

Gotta remember that the Mark of Khorne is not only a symbol of unending blood letting, but also a symbol of martial pride. Some warriors, particularly champions and Chaos Lords/Lieutenants who one could say it is completely reasonable for them to not be a killing machine and still have it.

Yeah, the 4th edition codex just white washed them and made the marks incredibly boring. It gimped the s**t out of the various legions and in particular the Thousand Sons whose major distinctions were that the units given Daemonic Essence(+1W) for free, the ability to use Inferno Bolts, Slow and Purposeful(for the actual marines), fearless, and lost the need to take psychic tests. I don't remember much about the Emperor's Children, but they got Warp Scream which made all fenemies in CQB 1I for the first turn. The Death Guard they gained Daemonic Resilience(+1T) for free, lost the ability to use any heavy weapons other than the Meltagun, they had True Grit for their bolt guns, meaning they always counted as having an additional close combat weapon as long as they were assaulted, and gained Nurgles Rot (for every soldier in a unit 6" away from a model with NR takes a woiund on a 6 as an active effect), and also had the ability to use Nurglings which was the only unit to have a save of 1+ as long as they were in cover. They also had access to plague swords(power weapon and any unsaved wounds cause instant death) and plague grenades(all enemies require a +1 hit modifier. So in order for a Space Marine to hit a unit with them they needed a 5+ instead of a 4+).

Yeah, I understand that. But for this story, the Berzerkers that the main character is with are the stereotypical 'zerkers, out to kill anything and everything that moves. Truthfully, it's just to make him even more irritable about the world. Lol
Huh...yeah, I could add a daemon into the mix. But still, idk how. It's still a young story.

Aw man! That would've been awesome!!!
