[.Breeding.]

Breeding allows for special stages to be obtained that normally wouldn't be gotten through any other means. For the gargoyle, its the stone guardian and child phase. For the lycan, its the pup stage and a chance at creating a barbarian.

Gargoyles
The gargoyles of Eternal Nights do not give birth to their young, they 'awaken' stone guardians by merging souls with their life partner and creating a new, completely unique offspring in that manner. Both parents are irresistibly drawn to the location of their awakening children and charged with seeing to its maturation. The stone guardians themselves are strange and mysterious in nature, as they seem to mold themselves from the ground up, taking nutrients from the area around them: soil, stone, decay, whatever it can draw its life's energy from. This shell hardens and protects the quick-growing soul inside and eventually molds a body for it to inhabit. Near the end of its maturation the shell cracks in places and glows with the energy of the being inside. Often times, its the same color as the gargoyle within.

Lycans
Lycans give live birth to their pups in the ole-fashioned way. Depending on if the female or pair is part of a pack or loners effects how the pups will be raised and what will be expected of them. Though most lycans tend to take care of their young up to adult hood, teaching them the skills they'll need to survive and instilling in them the severe hate for the gargoyle clans.

Breeding Rules
  • For both gargoyles and lycans, only opposite sex pairs can create offspring together.
  • In order to be approved for a breeding, the pair needs to complete one rp together. Length: 10 posts, at least 4 sentences each to be considered complete.
  • Keep the setting and society in mind. Though you aren't banned from breeding an ancestral to an exile, just know that these actions will have IC consequences that will come up during RP.

Gargoyle
Breedings cost 10k (total) and yield 1 to 3 offspring.
Lycan
Breedings cost 12k (total) and create 2 to 5 offspring.

[Mating]

Gargoyles
Gargoyles are mostly creatures of magic, and reproduce through magical means. The female does not carry the children within her own body, they are grown from the earth and allowed to mature their soul in a hardened shell of stone. The only way for a gargoyle to procreate is to merge souls with a partner of the opposite sex. This is a highly invigorating process, done in more or less the same way as normal, but the two ultimately join their souls together to create something wholly unique. Once the two souls are joined, they're forever tied together in an unbreakable bond.

What does this mean for mated gargoyles? They are unable to produce children with any other partner, though the process may be repeated with other individuals. The only way to break a mating bond is if one of the partners dies. For this reason, gargoyles take great care in courting a mate, aware that they're decision is likely going to be a final one.

Lycans
They can have as many partners as desired, it does not mess with their biology the same as a gargoyles would. However, you might want to keep pack traditions in mind if its going to be an issue for your character.
