The City of Lud is almost exactly like New York, the difference being the architecture but otherwise it's build the same. In the city you can hear the song Velco Fly, but only the drums. Dead bodies are piled in the streets and thrown off to the sides, long dead from gas that had seeped through the air by a diabolical train named Blain. Blain is a demented version of Charlie the Choo-Choo and has gone insane with only Riddles to keep him busy. Although he should be dead, Ka has brought him back because of his important role in the quest much like many others in it.
Anyone who survived the gas attack in the City now wears masks colored red from blood spilt on it. They call these masks "Red Death Masks."
