As you attempt to enter the Upper Ring, the guards stop you and inform that this area is off limits to the public. Through the metal gates you can see many guards in blackened plate armor with red plumes extended down from their helms, some wearing red shoulder cloaks over their left shoulders. The seven spires can be seen rising into the sky with the central tower rising higher, the blazing beacon atop giving off a soft glow. Luminous colors dance across the surface of the central tower from the colored fireballs in the Middle Ring.

Vas'Kaa stands in the courtyard, overseeing the clean up of the ruined court. He stands with the three council members, Kuro'Di the head councilman, Riza'Da-Shar the High Priestess and Firin'Rai the military representative. "So, it is agreed. Upon his highness's awakening, a new ceremony will take place here for his coronation.", Kuro'Di said, voice still shaken from Arkon's appearance. Riza'Da-Shar looks at Kuro'Di, her yellow eyes looking a bit skeptical, "What about the abyssal? We can't pretend that he isn't still a problem. Shar demands satisfaction for his assault on her chosen Lightbringer.", she said, her voice soft yet stern. Firin'Rai snorts, "That abyssal scum will not be in hiding forever. We have our best guards patrolling the city, even the Templars.", he said confidently. Vas'Kaa turns to them, after giving orders to the clean up crew moving the shattered pieces of roof away, "All will be handled in due time, for now we must focus on Lord Ran'Ke's ceremony, this city needs a Highlord.", he said, his voice strong and commanding. The three council members all nodded in agreement. As the council members turned to head back to the Middle Ring, Vas'Ka stops Firin'Rai, his Lieutenant. "Firin, Hold up, I want you up here. The Templars can handle the patrols but I want my Lieutenant to oversee the safety of the Palace.", he said, the Lieutenant saluting instantly. Firin'Rai removes his red plumed helm, revealing his shaggy white hair and yellow irises, "Yes my Captain! If I may ask, Captain, what will you be doing?", Firin'Rai asked in a respectful tone. "He will be delivering a message.", Noxx'Zus said, emerging from the court. "He will be travelling to Hiroshima, to inform their council of most joyous news. Our Highlord and their Queen of Fire are to be married.", Noxx'Zus said. Firin'Rai's expression grew lighter, "That is wonderful news! But, how do you know this, sir? Our lord has been unconscious for hours, and so has the Queen of Fire.", he said. Noxx'Zus started to walk back into the Palace, "I know, Firin'Rai. Rian'Ka has informed me, as she has been watching over the two.", he said, calling back from within the ruined court. Firin'Rai saluted as Vas'Kaa followed Noxx'Zus into the Palace.

Firin'Rai sat on his bed in the Templar's barracks, his head rested in his hands as he stared at the floor. "Captain...", he scoffed to himself. A sorrowful sigh escaped the Lieutenant as he laid back, staring at the wooden ceiling.

Firin'Rai sat up on his bed in the Templar barracks, reaching over to open a drawer in his night stand. He pulls from it a medal bearing crossed swords over a golden four point star, "My Valor Star...You gave it to me to signify my promotion in rank, my Captain.", he said aloud to himself, sadness coating his voice. A tear ran down his cheek as he chuckled sarcastically, "When your remains are claimed by the pyres...." Firin clutched the medal tightly, running the sleeve of the Kehjani coat over his eyes to wipe away forming tears, "I guess it wasn't a joke after all."

A knock came at the barracks door as Firin sat alone. "What...", he called out with a lack of enthusiasm. Ra'Sha opened the door and walked into the barracks, Firin standing to salute his Highlord. Ra'Sha held up a hand, "No need, Firin. Please, stay at ease.", he said with a soft smile. Firin lowered his arm from his salute and sat back down on his bed, staring at the floor. "Firin, I know you feel great sorrow for Vas'Kaa. I do as well, he was a great leader and an even better friend.", Ra'Sha said softly. Firin scoffed, clutching the Valor Star in his hand, "How can I possibly take his place? It's easy for you to say 'Captain 'Rai' but it's impossible for me to accept it.", Firin said sadly.

Firin looked at the medal in the palm of his hand, "Then why would Noxx'Zus make me Captain if not to replace him.", Firin asked, his tone becoming aggravated. Ra'Sha sighed lightly, "He didn't announce it so you could be Vas'Kaa's replacement. No one could be what he was, but I'm sure that if Vas'Kaa saw how you took command, he'd agree that you could be something more.", Ra'Sha said in a soft tone. Firin shook his head, "I was only performing my duty to Bel'tha'go. I'm just another soldier, I'm no leader.", Firin said quietly.

Firin remained silent as he stared at the Valor Star in his hand. Ra'Sha walked over and set his hand upon Firin's shoulder, "Listen, Vas'Kaa wouldn't want you to be so down on yourself. You've already proven that you can command, you preserved the safety of Bel'tha'go, and whether you know it or not you've kept the world safe from Ran'Ku's monsters.", Ra'Sha said strongly. The Highlord walked back to the door, turning his head back to look at Firin, "Come. There is something I think you need to see."

Firin carried Selene into the Templar barracks just off of the Palace courtyard, walking across the devoid room of beds and footlockers to a solid wooden door at the end of the room. He pushed the door open with his knee, walking into the Captain's quarters, which was slightly better decorated than the main room but still kept a simple design to it. Firin laid Selene gently upon the feather down bed, pulling the blanket up to cover her. "I'll sit with you until you fall asleep. Then I have to go brief the Templars on Kehjani tech.", he whispered softly, gently kissing her forehead as he sat on the edge of the bed next to her.

Firin stood carefully so as not to disturb her, leaving his quarters while closing the door behind quietly. He looked down at the Kehjani tech covering him from head to toe, "Everything is changing so rapidly, I hope the soldiers are ready for this.", he thought, as he left the barracks.

Selene woke and look around the room for Firin, after not seeing him Selene got out of bed and walked out of the room, going to look around for Firin.
