As you ascend the stairs from the plaza to the Middle Ring, the guards open the gate and allow you entrance. This ring is bathed in multicolored light from the many colored fireballs dancing over the streets. It is less busy than the Lower Ring but not completely devoid. The temples are easily noticeable due to the god's holy symbols displayed on the stained glass above the doors. The people here are much better dressed than in the Lower Ring, signifying them as nobles. The shops in this ring are much better decorated and have far better stock but at much higher prices. The guards here wear blackened full plate armor with no helm plumage or other decoration.

Arkon made his way through the crowded streets of the Lower Ring into the Middle. Guards seemed to be doubled as Templars came running down the stairway from the Palace, being led by Lieutenant Firin'Rai. He chuckled to himself, the guards and Templars bypassing him in his disguised form. "Foolish vermin...", he whispered as he walked slowly around the Middle Ring to avoid any suspicion.

Rian'Ka stood by the stairs in the Middle Ring, watching the guards frantically step up security. Someone bumped into her, causing the two to stumble. "Oh dear, I am so sorry miss", a voice said to her, as someone helped her up. She looked at the man, he had the pale skin of a Shadelander as well as the eyes, his hair was semi long with two long fringes trailing down further behind, his clothes were simple yet elegant and he had a calm smile on his face. "It is fine, sir.", she said to the man with a smile. "So, may I ask your name?", the man said kindly. Rian'Ka nodded, "It is Rian'Ka Liadon, and may I ask your's?", she replied to the man. He bowed, "Ah, I did not recognize you, miss Liadon. My name is Kronn, I am but a humble noble servant, I have been separated from my lord when the commotion started, do you know where I might find him?", Kronn asked, eyes glinting. Rian'Ka smiled and bowed to the man, "Of course, he should be with the other nobles at the coronation banquet. Come, I will take you there.", she said, leading the man up the stairs and through the Upper Ring gates.

Ra'Sha stood with his arms crossed at the top of the stairs overlooking the Lower Ring plaza as the Templars were gathering willing citizens for a recruitment drive, fathers and sons gladly signing up for the Regulars to reinforce the Bel'tha'gian military, "It's been too long, Selene and Rosa should have been back with Firin by now.", the Highlord said to himself, as the bracer around his wrist began to glow, an arcane blue omni-tool springing up around his hand. Ra'Sha looked down at the display as a message in the Shadelandic script scrolled across, the Highlord's gaze narrowing as he read Selene's message, "Damnit! I knew Rosa shouldn't have gotten involved, and now Firin's paid the price.", he cursed as he read further, "And Strom? Just what in the nine hells is going on over there?" The personnel gate built into the Main Gate swung open as a Templar dashed through the crowd, climbing the stairs and kneeling before the Highlord, "Sire! We've received word from Ba'Hai'Ir, Master Noxx'Zus has made contact with the Knight-Lord.", the Templar said, slightly out of breath from running all the way from the military camp in heavy armor. Ra'Sha looked down to the Templar, "He has? Good, anything else?", Ra'Sha asked, as the Templar looked up upon the Highlord's angelic visage with a concerned expression, "Well, sire...The Knight-Lord says that he doesn't wish to become involved, but Master Noxx'Zus is pleading with him to reconsider.", the Templar said, looking back to the ground. Ra'Sha sighed and knelt down with the Templar, Placing his golden clad hand on the soldier's shoulder, "You've done well, Templar. I have faith that Sol'Ux will see the threat and have a change of heart. Return to the camp and rally the Regulars, we have 20 minutes to assemble the lines and ready our defense.", the Highlord said with a reassuring smile. The Templar kept his head bowed, "At once, sire.", he said, standing with a Bel'tha'gian salute before leaving to carry out his orders. Ra'Sha stood, looking back down at the recruitment drive with a concerned gaze, "Shar. Selune. Preserve these men who are willing to fight and die in your names.", the Highlord said softly to the empty air, looking up to the sky as the sun sets.

Ra'Sha stood atop the stairs to the Middle Ring, directing squads of Regulars to defensive positions around the city to use their home environment to their advantage before he felt a soft presence in his mind. "Ran'Ke...?", his sister's voice echoed around him, snapping him from the task of readying the defenses and drawing his golden stare behind him to the towering Palace. "Rian'Ka?", he spoke as his sibling's aura began to glow around him. "I know you're busy, Ran'Ke, but I have news.", Rian'Ka's disembodied voice spoke to him. Ra'Sha looked back to the soldiers, directing a nearby Templar to assume command while he attends to another matter before walking away from the edge of the stair towards the Palace, "What is it? We have precious little time before this war becomes very real.", he said sternly but not harshly. There was a short silence before his sister spoke again, "I know and I'm sorry to bother you, but we have a guest. As Highlord, I felt you should be the one to greet it.", the Seeress's voice chimed politely. Ra'Sha had to stop and think for a moment, "It?", he asked, confused about the situation as he saw no one pass into the upper tiers of the city. "Yes. It seems to be a diminutive creature of darkness that found it's way inside. Miss Mable's been entertaining the guest but it seems only right that the host of our home bid welcome to it.", Rian'Ka's voice echoed with a very formal tone. Ra'Sha narrowed his glowing golden gaze as he nodded, knowing his sister could see, "You're right, thank you for informing me, sister. I'm on my way.", the Highlord responded calmly, walking briskly from the Middle Ring up through the Upper to the Palace level.
