4 Seasons Ball - Palace Peak -Roleplay- "The ball itself commemorates the beginning of a new year and the cycle of seasons. In ancient times the people believed that by holding a festival to appease the gods and goddesses would encourage them to end the dreaded winter and renew the cycle of the seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter."After receiving an invitation from a wealthy stranger while selling goods to a peddler, Silas informs her trusty crew that they would be going off their original destination to the South Sea Islands. "Maybe a little festivity would cheer you up!" she said, remembering how the past few weeks had been rather dull. It was settled then! They would sail to Palace Peak! Well, half sail, half fly. While the rest of the ship's passengers were elated to finally get to see scenery other than various cities and the blue ocean, Silas was uneasy. It would be her first time back in her homeland since the very day she left with her trusty first mate, Bren. And the name signed on the card... King Hanwrath...Hanwrath....where had she heard it before? For days she spent looking about, trying on disguises and making countless dresses to see which would disguise herself best. "If they know it's me...they'd send me to my mother...oh..no...not my mother!" they would hear her shout. She even asked Prince Yuui to teach her how to turn into a bunny. Then, finally, she settled on a seemingly genius plan. "I'll stay myself! I'll look so like the missing Silas, that they would think that she couldn't possibly show up to a ball years later! It's foolproof! Besides, they invited my alias, Captain Luna Winter! Not me! Not the real me!" Maybe she had too much to drink, or maybe she's right. We'll just have to see.

{You can jump right in. No profiles required!}
It was around mid-afternoon, and Silas was trying on dresses, as she had been for the past 3 hours. She left the job of making sure the ship was on course to Prince Yuui. The boy's a genius, she thought. It shouldn't be too hard for him. Then again...you never know what's going on in that mind of his.
Just as she slipped on another dress, there was a knock at the door. "Silas!" Bren shouted. "Come out and look! There's a surprise for you!" Of course there isn't but she doesn't know that! Bren mused.
"Brenlyn Dale! I have seen sea monsters, fat old naked guys, catastrophic explosions, and the other side of the universe, and you think that for one minute I would be surprised?" Silas shouted. It was the umpteenth time this week that the man was up to something, and she had a notion of what, but she couldn't be sure. One thing that she did know was that he was definitely up to something.
Bren sighed, and stroked the cold, smooth surface of the gold locket. It would have to wait. "Fine, then! But you'll regret this!"

It was finally the morning of the Last Dance! As excited as she was, Silas couldn't help but feel something would go wrong. She never had any sort of luck and whenever something good happened, something twice as worse would usually follow. Realizing later that she did, in fact, drink too much one day, she changed her plan slightly to over girl-ify herself and dispose of her usual habits. Why did I trust that boy to steer my ship anyway? He doesn't know how to sail.. thought the troubled girl.
Silas went onto the deck and sighed. The mountain that held the magnificent palace inside was almost in sight. It was a glittering crystal of blue and white, and she couldn't help but be hypnotized by its beauty.
(OOC: It's Friday the 13th too, so this works out (: )

Yuui, or known as Moon because of the crew's inability to pronounce his name correctly, tightened his goggles as a strong gust of wind coming from opposite direction of the S.S Odyssey's destination hit the ship. "Bad" he signaled others to lower the sail before the ship get blown out from her course. Something is wrong here he glanced back to the beautiful palace before descending down from the pilot floor. "Silas! We got a storm here. It looks like we'll have to travel by water, and walk up there by foot" he stood still for the Captain's permission, although the ship is now being lowered as they spoke.

"Better than getting smashed to bits!" she called back. Silas turned over to the hired help she picked up in a port city, then barked some orders. They stood dumbfounded. The captain sighed impatiently. "What are ya waitin' for, the trees to grow? Go, go, go!" In the midst of chaos, a strange thought came to her mind. Storms hardly ever reach the highest peak of the northern mountain ranges, especially of this ferocity. If it blew from this direction, then the cities it should have passed by would have been destroyed... Yet, they weren't. It was as if it just...popped up. Right there.
Could it be...? There's no way...the mages wouldn't be here.. The very thought of seeing those wretched people again gave her the shivers, but the adrenaline of finally having some interesting action kept her from locking up in fear.
Silas said a small prayer to her father, then helped prepare her dear old ship for landing in the nearby river. As much as she loathed doing things manually, her mind wouldn't quit racing in circles enough for her to use the bond.

"Hurry up or get down!" Moon ordered all the crews working on the sails to get down, it's almost impossible to get the sails down now with the wind turning them into efficient people-flicker, unless you have some beast at your command. "itrewic turalisj scr'ivkit vhira! (Get big paper down!)" he shouted at the dragons he bought with his own fund at the black market. The creatures flown up untroubled by the wind, and began to untie the knots.
Moon closed down his eyes and saw multi-coloured lights flitting around the S.S Odyssey. With his eyes still closed, Moon shoot his flintlock at those light. "GRAGHIIIIIIEEEEEEEK!" a combination of an old man's voice and a dragon screamed, and began to get louder without stopping. "Everyone ignore your work for now and get inside! hold your ears too!" he yelled.
"I think I found the cause of this storm now!" the ship is now descending slowly to the river, but if they don't stop these evil spirits before they make contact with the river, they will die a very painful watery death.

Prince Yuui [By the ways, Silas, I like your writing style. Mine is atrocious.] [Aww, don't say that. English is your second language, after all. Yours is nicer than most of the novels and student short stories I've had the displeasure to read. Thank you though ^_^ Oh, and I just noticed that when I say thank you, it comes out more like Danke o-o Damn German...]
Bren was attending to some of the crew's injuries when he heard that blood curdling scream, or...whatever you'd want to call that. It was certainly nothing like he had ever heard. He remembered what Silas had said about seeing all that there was to see, and figured that this would top them all, and went out to help her, leaving the job of healing to his new apprentice, Malahi. The young girl was delighted to feel all grown up and her leaf-like ears perked up in joy despite the situation.
He busted out of the cabin door and climbed through the rope netting to the deck surface with viper-like speed, only to find that he had just missed his lifelong friend. She was, as he suspected, in the center of all the turmoil, on the back of what appeared to be a godly serpent, driving a broken piece of the ship into its eye and avoiding the deadly, gaping mouth. The behemoth's lone eye was a strange, glowing yellow, and with every roar more flashes of lighting crashed from the clouds. Little floating lights kept crawling off of its scales and attacking.
Without any clue of what to do, Bren slipped his gun out of the deep coat pocket and started shooting at those weird floaty things. It was times like this when he felt utterly stupid.
When we all get out of this, Silas...you have some explaining to do.. he thought with a grimace.

"Well, I might want to prolong this so that I can study them more. But, looks like we're going to reach the river now." Moon's fangs grew, adding to his already bestial ears. "Let's see what your thick skin taste like!" he darted onto one of the floating light. The light immediately dimmed down, revealing what seems to be like a draconian. In his frenzy Moon slain the draconian, although he didn't recall later how he killed it. Moon fell to the floor, his consciousness fading.
"RETREAT! AZHEKEE!" another shining-draconian thing said. Almost simultaneously to the S.S Odyssey's landing on the river, the monster, the spirits all disappeared away, as if they were just hallucinations. But, the damage they caused is evident, if you would count the injured and the dead.

[Erk...I hope I didn't make that too fast ._. Sowwie!]
In the distance, Silas watched in awe as the ship drifted with a soft splash onto the river, hardly upsetting the ecosystem around it. She held even more surprise when the odd lights disappeared. I guess they held up pretty well, those two... Silas mused, and tried to smile. Despite its size dwarfing that of the common fortress it seemed like a tiny mash of junk on the river. Once she reached the shore, Silas watched the water's surface, now fading to a strange gray with mage blood, to ensure that the mage-serpent was fully unconscious (There was no way that she knew of to kill them). Gauging how long it would take to swim back, she attempted to slowly jog in that direction, wincing with every step. Blood streamed down from the festering tear in her leg from where the serpent's tusks tore in, but it was all she could do to stay warm and get back. The overwhelming dizziness of frigid fever, a natural elf defense, started to set in.
"Oh...I hope they're alright...please be alright..." her voice moaned in pain, more out of worry than injury. ------------------------- Yuui made short work of those creepy fairy things, so Bren had plenty of time to finish bandaging up passengers and what was left of the crew members. Large chunks of the ship's cabin were now strewn about in the river around them, so those that didn't need to stay in bed were now on the deck, freezing and weeping. Just what we need, Bren thought. More holes than we have places to sleep. As he patched up boo boos, scrapes, cuts, missing parts and broken limbs, the quiet man watched in horror as Yuui...well...let's just say that he now held some fear in the mysterious boy that he normally towered over without a second thought. He wanted to go over and make sure he was okay, but just as he got up he saw Silas running along the other side of the river, with tiny red footprints trailing behind her.

[ Balrog is Anonymous Darkness' character, since I don't think he will be participating in the RP, let alone post here, I decided to control him as well, since he's destined to be Yuui's nemesis in the manga ]
Balrog's wings wavered sickly as he stumbled through the deck. The translucence glow of the wing indicate that he is currently weak, but all he did is inject a small dose of amphetamine into his arm. Rest is not important now, as he can stay on the ship while the other go on the dreary ball. Malahi was also caught in the highest peak of the scream, although the only thing it did to him was stun him, the scream destroyed her delicate elven ears. Balrog pushed the medical ward's door, which fell off its hinge almost immediately. 'Potionpotionpotionpotion' his fevered mind bellowed so loudly he could hear it.
"Enter" a commanding voice said as Moon realized he had knocked on a door. Where the hell am I? minutes ago he was on the S.S Odyssey, and now he is in a dream the text on the door shifted to indicate him, before shifting back to Gruul. 'Gruul' he pondered as he opened the door. The figure turned to him and...
"Moon! Wake up! Are you okay?" Silas' concerned voice overlapped Gruul's he could only note the animal-like figure on the man before Moon was yanked out from his sleep.

[How did I get from limping my way through the snow to beside you?!]
There was little energy in Silas' weak body, but her heart was still strong. Before she succumbed to the frenzy of frigid fever, she kicked, yelled, screamed and shrieked in horror at the sorry state her comrades had been reduced to. Itsallmyfaultitsallmyfaultitsallmyfault...it's...all...my...fault... Nothing but guilt ran through her mind, and pain was rampant in every corner on her heart. Finally, her eyes stopped spinning about in circles, and laid on Yuui's nearly indiscernible face. my fault...it's...all...my...fault... Bren did what he could to help her. Sponging, at least, got her clean, but there were no medicines left to apply to the wounds after using what Malahi could find on the crew mates. "We'll have to wait until we get to the castle," Bren said in a grim tone, then signaled the same message to Malahi. "But..but...what's wrong with her, Bren?" the young girl asked.
It was too complicated to put though sign language, and even then, Bren's skills were rather limited. He shut the tattered curtain behind him, separating him and Yuui from the rest of the room with a sigh. He could still hear, in her delusional sleep, Silas' weak whisper..."Br..breh..yoo....breh...yoo aayy...?" It brought some comfort, and a little amusement to hear her broken pronunciation of Yuui's name.
