Residual hauntings are hauntings that are not ghosts but instead they are imprints in time and history. Events that replay over and over again. They can replay once a year, once a month or everyday.
What do you think causes residual hauntings? How do you think these imprints become "stuck" in time?
Have you ever witnessed a residual haunting?

I think that residual hauntings are a bend or distortion in the time/space continuum due to excess energy.
Part of Einstein's theory of relativity has been proven and that part states that time/space can bend.
Brian Greene, author of the Elegant Universe, has said how energy and stress can cause distortions in the continuum.
I'm a bit too tired to get too into the whole thing, but that is just my idea.
