Squad 1 is the leading Squad. They are well known to be the most well-rounded fighters out of all the Squads, proficient in Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō and Kidō. Members of this Squad are known to receive extensive training and are role models for all other divisions. The Captain of this Squad, also known as the Head Captain, leads the rest of the Gotei 13.
