Hi people, I'm new! My name is Amy and if I were a pony, I would be Fluttershy. My boyfriend's sister told me about the show so I started watching FIM on youtube and now I can't stop because it's so cute! I think the show is nice and really good for children too.

I got back from work a while ago where I bought her a little Canterlot castle with accessories, Twilight and another pony, and then I got her Rarity. (For Christmas and her birthday). I can't wait to see her reaction! (I also bought a Canterlot Fluttershy whose wings glow, but don't tell my boyfriend lol!)

So, what got you interested in the show? And nice to meet ya! 3nodding

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. When I went to Comic Con SD with my anime club members, some of them told me about how there where some guys waiting for a poster of MLP FMI and we questioned what was the reason older people liked it.

So I started watching it and I must admit that after watching PPG and other cartoons, it's all about tolerance.

If I was one of the mane 6, I would say, Twilight. Cuz I am smart and I don't have any friends, yet.....

As far as the head shot goes, I might make a Molespire one soon idk, but for now I give you Ragepire.

Well, I was visiting a friend over thanksgiving break whom I had not seen in more than a year. We're about as close as chocolate milk and glass (before someone drinks the glass), and when he told me that he had become a "Brony", It raised some serious questions in my mind. I watched the first couple episodes with him, and was soon hooked on the show, vowing to know more about it that he did the next time we met.

I would say that I'm a Discord. I have some very strange tastes compared to most people where I live, but more often than not, I change the circumstances to suit myself.

I joined the fandom some time back in July, I think. I was just checking around on a couple of webcomics that I followed and they kept making references to something to do with ponies. I told myself that I would just ignore them and they would eventually go away. Then I checked up on a comic called "Got into the Middle Ground" and I saw this and I finally gave up and checked out the first episode.
I would say that I am most like Rarity, even though my favorite pony would be Twilight. She manipulates others with her charm while still being mostly reasonable.

Hello! I'd definitely be Fluttershy, considering my shyness. I just saw a pic of it on the internet one day. I thought it looked really cute. And my bro and I found out it was from MLP FiM. We started watching it and we were hooked.

Not a very interesting start. Basically, I was watching T.V., and nothing was on. I noticed that MLP was on.

At first I was all like "Pft! Like I'm ever watching that! My Little Pony is for babies! rofl " Yeah, it was a preconceived notion, since I was thinking that it was gonna be exactly like the G1 or G2 series.

However, even as I double and triple checked the T.V. guide for something.... ANYTHING else, my search came up short, and I had to settle on watching glitter ponies giggle about their hair for a half hour. gonk

Or so I thought!

emotion_jawdrop "Holy s**t!" I exclaimed. "This show is amazing! Why doesn't everyone watch this?" emotion_kirakira

I'm pretty sure I happened to catch the first two episodes (back to back), so I wasn't confused at all! And it was spectacular! Such action and daring adventure!

Not to mention that it had a moralistic overtone, but it wasn't all in your face about it! Also, it was practical! None of that "believe in the magical rainbow that resides within your heart, and you can defeat anything in the darkness" crap the 80's gave us! emotion_bigvein (not to mention that Spike didn't sound like frikin' Fran Drescher this time around! emotion_facepalm )

More like, "You want friends? Learn to laugh, don't be a jerk, give generously, don't lie, be loyal to your friends, and just be a pleasant person rather than a stick in the mud! Everything will turn out a-okay!" You know, the advice that creates the image of a friend that we'd all like to have?

Not to mention, unlike the other series-es (?), the characters aren't too perfect, and they have some conflict. In G1, they just open up that rainbow locket, and problem solved! If not, then they cry about how their trapped, then some random character shows up and saves them three minutes later! emotion_zzz Or worse, in G2, they didn't have ANY problems! They're biggest problem is that only one of the six ponies knows how to make a damn cake! Can't decided who wins the fashion show? You're all winners! God, if you want to be all winners, go watch barney! You don't need this!

Whoa! I'm getting off topic! Well, that's basically the premis of why I didn't wanna watch it at first! But once I did, I was all over it! My older sister had seen it and liked it too, and so we got to watch it together, which was fun!

After that, I made it a goal to watch every episode on youtube to catch myself up! By the time Read it and Weep came out, I was totally in the loop! I've been a pegasister ever since.

Summary? My favorites of the mane six (from most to least favorite [although they're all awesome!]) is as follows: Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Twilight. (and yes, it's a coincidence that they're grouped by type! I hold no prejudice against unicorns!)

My favorite minor character is who else? Derpy Hooves! And yes, her name is Derpy! I don't care if they took it out! Hell, I don't care if they changed her name to Fluffy Pantyhose McLollypopstein! Her true name will forever be Derpy Hooves!

Favorite Episode? Well, I'd have to watch them all again (which I'm in the process of doing), but if I had to pick right now, I'd say the Cutie mark Chronically, because filly Dash is so cute!

Yes, I've read pony fan fiction, and yes, a lot of it is disturbing! I went on a whole shpeel over my fan fic that helps make those gory ones not so bad. If you can find it, you can read all about it. I'll put a link to that post if anyone cares!

And yes, I've read My Little Dashie! My conclusion: He's no Mark Twain, but he's pretty good at telling a story! I mean, for something made available to the public for free, you can never expect too much, and this guy definitely exceeded those expectations, so that's always a refreshing thing to experience!

It could use a little revision, and maybe some parts could be shortened or cut out (I mean, do all the ponies need to be there to bring Dash home?) but it's a good story, and it's very heart warming!

Also, whenever I read it, I start to cry at the end! Any story that can alter my emotions like that is a winner in my book! (and no flaming about my opinions! I'm not tearing the author down, I'm just tactfully putting my opinions on the table! Using tact is one thing, Sugar coating is another, but lying and going on and on about how flawless this masterful piece of literature is, when in reality, a little revision could be called for if the author was so inclined, is something I will not do, no matter how many people tell me I'm wrong [plus, I'm in this creative writing class, and so it's kinda hard to shut off that constructive criticism now...])

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough! Uh... quote me if you wanna talk (but cut out anything unrelated to what your commenting on), and if you actually read this whole thing, than Kudos! Damn, I need a shower! Toodles!

Ah yes. How did I become a Brony. Well, It started the typical way. Hear about the show, Deny it's existence, give it a try, can't believe it's this good, and then I couldn't get enough pony. I first started with the music. Listening to the fandom's many beautiful musicians. And then I started looking into the art. Read a couple of fanfics and just got pulled into the whole thing. I just couldn't give it up.

I got a lot of people into the show. All of my friends, ex-girlfriends, and relatives have become fans. The show is truly inspiring and it's made a huge impact on my life. I treat people better, I act kinder, I always am willing to give someone a chance before judging them. My heart goes out to all the people in this fandom. It really does. I just want to thank everyone for being awesome. And to have hopes for a great next few years of being 20% cooler.

I used to watch MLP when I was a kid....you know, the original animated series. Anyway, i saw it was coming back and i like to visit Hot Topic and they have MLP: FIM stuff there, I got my mom this seat-belt key-chain thingy that has a silhouette of Rainbow Dash on it. She thinks it's cute. I finally thought I'd check out the series and was delighted to find full episodes on YouTube. I'm on episode 50 at the moment....which I think translates into Season 2 Episode 24, "MMMystery on the Friendship Express"

...and that's it. XD

Ha-ha! Another Amy in the herd!

How I got into MLP? All of my friends were into it and started sending me songs/jokes/meme's and other such things about the show. When we got cable again when I was bored I watched one episode. It was the end of Best night ever. Of course I had no idea what was happening and ended up thinking the show was crap.

I watched a FULL episode this time and fell in love with the show and...that's that.

I was a hater before i joined the herd, i got sick of mindlessly flaming, hating and bashing then i decided to know what the limbo i was hating, saw a couple of episodes ( finished season 1 in a night ) loved the show instantly and then i told some of my friends about the show (the skeptics were soon converted).

I got into MLP around 6 or so months ago and i had just lost my job, so i was just channel surfing in the morning and i just couldn't find anything to watch. I skimmed passed it and i saw it, said sure, why not. So that was my simple humble brony beginning.
