Learning to believe,
Written September-22-2011

She screams
You hold her down so she can't
She won't
She swears it won't happen again
She breaks
The scars start to multiply
She can't
They watch her with selective vision
She lies
She weaves a web out of necessity
She won't
She doesn't want anyone to see
She falls
You forgot to reach out for her
She can't
They look away while she's broken
She runs
The look in your eyes is frightening
She won't
She refuses to believe in your love
She cries
They've moulded her to live alone
She can't
She comes crawling back to you
She begs
You help her smooth over the scars
She won't
She realises that she's never been alone
She flies
They won't hold her down anymore
She can't
The darkness starts to melt away
She believes
She's more than what they see
