“Hey, did you hear? A new teacher is supposed to come in today!” “Really!? We haven’t had anything exciting happen in so long!” “Is it a guy or a girl?” “Is that really the first thing that comes to your mind?” “Shh! Here they come!” Silence. Step, step, step… Slide! Step-step. Slide. Step, step, step, step, step. Stop. “Eh-hem. Good morning class. My name is Hanafusa Izumi. For the next year, I will be your homeroom teacher. I look forward to a productive year. Hajimemashite, doozoyoroshiku.” Bow-BAM! “… …ow.” With an accidental smack of the fore head to the desk, Hanafusa Izumi, the new teacher of Class 3-C made quite an entrance newcomer. With his entry, he’d be the youngest teacher at that school. He was an instant hit with the girls, whom he seemed to bring out the caring sides of. He was very much a klutz and accident prone: from dropping a canteen of hot coffee all over his self to even toppling a shelf of library books onto his self with the extrication of a single novel. And yet, despite however much help he may be in need of, he’ll quickly jump to his feet and flee the moment someone tries to touch him. Some of the girls think it is cute while other’s think that there is simply something wrong with him. The truth is actually more troubling, but all the same very dangerous for him. As a child, he caught a deadly virus that would have killed him had a traveling medic not healed him. But a side effect of the medicine used on him left him horribly sensitive to human contact for the rest of his life. On the plus side, he now has a super immune system. But, then again, this still had a major impact on his life. He had to grow up, unable to hug his mother, having to treat his own scratches and bruises and more. He never: had a first kiss, held hands with the girl he likes, give his friends a high-five during sporting events, and more. And he’s lived his entire life hiding why. Luckily, or unluckily, someone is about to happen upon him who may be able to help. ______ is a student of this particular homeroom teacher. [The rest you can make up yourself.] The Teacher I am: Hanafusa Izumi (Bunch of Flowers, Spring) I don’t look it: 25 It’s what I am: Teacher Can’t resist: small animals, sweets (especially pastries), phone charms, bear plushies Makes me weak: spiders, big dogs, skin-on-skin contact, public transportation My truth: Hanafusa IzumiI don’t want to remember: Due to a childhood accident, I’ve been unable to withstand the touch of other people. I can handle animals just fine, but I can’t withstand their touch. My skin is really sensitive to ‘human touch’ and the mere brushing of hands gives me an extreme feeling. Many times, someone has tried to help, but to avail since I could not withstand the experiments without copious amounts of pain. So, I grew up learning how to avoid touching people without offending them. Though, there are some cases you can’t avoid. And I tend to run away from those situations. The StudentYo! My name is: Takashi Sakamoto The candles on my birthday cake: 17 My status: Student My love and passion: Dogs, sports, milk, donuts, delivering packages The dampers of my day: Research papers, rainy days, cleaning Mirror, mirror: xXxMy story: My life isn't anything special. I'm the son of a banker and a kindergarten teacher. I live in a two-story house that is right by my favorite park! I'm a third year in high school and currently work as a student aid for the faculty in my spare time. Just recently, a rumor has been going around about a new teacher for our class. Well...When the man came in, it was certainly a... memorial entry. But, other than that, this should be an interesting school year! (Not sure how to start, but I will wing it! rofl )
"Morning Mr. Sakamoto." Takashi looked up before grinning at school doctor. "Morning Shouta-sensei! Here's the box you told me to get." He laid the object on the small desk the school provided before giving another smile. This, in return, made the school doctor smile back. "Thank you. Now you better head off to class." With a nod, Takashi picked up his bag and ran out the door to room 3-C. "How many times do I have to tell you, NO RUNNING IN THE HALL!" Shouta-sensei yelled out the infirmary's door, but the boy paid no mind to it. He was pretty excited because it would be the second day for their new teacher. The male made such an entrance on the first, he wanted to know what kind of entry he would make today. That... And the fact that he only had five minutes to get to class and he was only on the first floor, while his classroom was on the third...

Izumi had gotten to class early this time. He wrote Hanafusa-sensei in the upper left part of the blackboard so it wouldn't take up much place. So far, things had been going well. But 10 minutes before class was due to start, he got called out to the principal briefly. Since the other was a friend of his mother, they knew about his 'condition' and worried about him. In the end, he assured them that he wanted to do this job.
Before he knew it, it was five minutes to class and he had to hurry back to the classroom. He ran while trying to avoid running into others. He took the back steps up to the third floor and he slid into his classroom. "Whew! sorry about that class!" He then turned to walk to his desk, he stepped on a fallen pencil which offset his footing, making him wobble and fall, smacking his head into the desk.
Groaning, he grabbed his head and started rolling along the floor as the old wound from yesterday resonated with this new one.

'Gotta make it! Gotta make it! Gotta make it!' He chanted this the whole way to class. He had to make it before the teacher did. However, it wasn't because he didn't want to be deemed as 'late'. It was because...
Opening the door, the object making a loud slam! the boy panted as he stared into the class. There was his teacher, rubbing his head as he got up from the floor. "Ah man!" He missed it! He missed this man's grand entrance number two! He knew he should have taken that left through the art room, instead of running straight through the second years' hall! Dang it!
"Uhhhh, Takashi..." Blinking, Takashi looked at his friend who gave him a confused look. Oh right... Class had started hasn't it...? And he was late, wasn't he..? Giving a nervous laugh, he bowed his head to his teacher. "Sorry for being late, Sensei..."

Izumi groaned, stopping his rolling as it just made his head throb even more. "Ugh... Nnn..." With a sigh, he made himself to stand when he heard a voice. "What?" Looking up, he saw one of his students. He tried to recall their name specifically, but...his head hurt too much. "Um...ah...p-please. Take a seat."
It took him a few more minutes to seat himself in the chair behind his desk. A few of the girl worriedly asked if he was okay. "I'm fine, I'm fine." He'd say. Honestly, he'd suffer worse before, but a blow to the head was always crippling. "Now...today's starter...a safety exercise should do, yes?"

"Right, Sensei." Takashi bowed again before taking his seat next to the guy that called out to him. "Your so weird, dude.." His friend whispered before chuckling softly. "Shut up." Takashi counted before lightly elbowing the male on his side. Then their teacher spoke up and the male was confused. Safety exercise...? "Excuse me...Sensei." Takashi called out as he raised his hand. "Why are we doing a safety exercise?"

Izumi looked at the student who was asking for his attention. Though, the question he was given made him raise an eyebrow. "Well, why not? Proper execution of classroom safety can save a life in ways you'd never expect. Take my...spill for example. A normal person slipping on a pencil could have been horridly hurt! Leaning back in your chair just might take off someone's toe! Always store your pencils eraser up! And other things like that! All it takes is hte first five minutes of class..."

Wait....Rewind for a moment... The man slipped on a pencil...? This made Takashi stare at his teacher in disbelief as he listened to what the man had to say. Store pencil erasers...taking off somebody's toe... Was this guy for real? This had to be the weirdest classroom safety lecture ever. "But Sensei... What if we're running late and don't have time to do all that...?"

Izumi got a serious look in his eyes then. "Even if you are late, five minutes for safety! It just might save your life, or someone else's. Like carrying supplies! Why does the student council make their students carry so much paper, so many boxes at once? I get they want to cut down on time, but someone won't always be there to catch you!" He continued on, talking about all the different ways the 'simple' actions of the students around the school could easily kill them.
The only reason he stopped was when he saw the clock at the back of the room and noticed the time. "Ah! T-that's enough about that. Before we run out of time, we'll go over some mental exercises to prepare your mind for whatever the day throws at you."

This teacher was not kidding... At first, Takashi thought their new teacher was playing a practical joke on the class. That was not the case. The man took, what seemed to him like offense, his question and began a passionate speech on safety. 'I'm kind of curious... As far fetched as this sounds, has all these things happen to Izumo-sensei...?'
"Oh, Izumo-sensei? Would meditation count as a mental exercise?" One student asked from the center of the classroom. "Wouldn't that be more of a physical exercise?" Takashi stated to the student in confusion as he scratched the back of his head in though.

Izumi stopped as one of his students asked him a question. "Actually, meditation can be physical, mental, or both. It's all a matter of the technique. A physical mediation would be similar to sitting under and waterfall, the infamous patience trail that temples hold, and more. My personal favorite, though, is the Dark room. Different from the one related to photography, this room is completely dark, and except for a few small items, you're alone in the room. With not a sliver of light, you can't see anything. Your senses heighten to the point where you can actually perceive what those objects are without actually touching them..."

Takashi never knew that. He always thought of meditation as something people-in-training-to-strengthen-their-bodies did. Like martial artists or monks. But this Dark Room thing that Izumo-sensei talked about sounded really cool. "So its almost like telepathy but with objects, right? Is this meditation hard to do?" He asked with interest. Takashi might do it in the near future. It was worth a shot at least.

Izumi tilted his head to the side. "Well...um...yes. Though, I wouldn't have used telepathy in that description. I'd say it's much closer to how one, whom has been blind all their lives, sees the world around them. That's much more accurate."
He then stopped and looked at teh clock which was placed at the back of the room. "...well, as much as I would love to further explain, it will have to wait until tomorrow. Now, we shall proceed into today's scheduled lesson." He looked into his book. "Oh...um...uh... ..."
He looked up and faced his class. "I...uh...well...it seems...uh..." I can't believe I left my class schedule! How is this possible!? I thought I had everything for sure! Unless, unless...I dropped it when I was running to make it to class on time! Oh great! This is absolutely perfect! Well, there goes another job down the drain...

Oh, well that was a bit disappointing. But still really cool! Who wouldn't be excited about heightened senses and being able to tell what objects are in the dark? It was a shame that the discussion had to end. Takashi pouted as he got out his notebook. "Sensei? Is something wrong?" Looking up, the boy noticed that the teacher was looking around as if he lost something. What could he be looking for?
"Izumi-san?" Just then a female voice came from the entrance of the classroom. The students turned their heads and noticed that a woman in her thirties with long, black hair stood in the entryway. Leaning casually on the door frame, she looked at the panicked male before sighing. "Would this be yours?" She asked, holding a class schedule that had "Hanafusa Izumi" written on it.
