Prompt #4
They had nothing to say to each other. Nothing at all. Not one word. They had said all they had to no more no less. The divorce was finally over. Their partnership terminated. The game had finally come to a close.
Three years passed and Jack was sitting in his new home, a small apartment. It had three rooms: a bedroom, a Bathroom, and a kitchen/living room. Jack sat at his kitchen table, next to the window. The only light on, was the over head light that hung from a long wire just above the the circular table. He had only one chair around his circular table. The light swayed as the cool breeze from the open window gently brushed it. The remnants of his frozen dinner sat empty. A glass of bourbon was dwarfed by the half empty bottle next to it.
Jack's gaze was fixed outside. The stars he could see were dim, but the night sky was what interested him the most. He wondered if there was life beyond the world that we live in. Before he could continue on his philosophical train of thought, the phone rang.
"This is Jack," he answered "Jack, its time." said a man with a gruff voice. "Alright, I'll be there in twenty." Jack hung up the phone, grabbed his over coat, his .45, and his badge. This time he would finally catch him... he would finally catch his old partner. (...........to be continued........)

Writing Prompt #3
Setting: Unez, France (Era Fantasy) Year: 1889
*************
Her laugh broke the silence. A harsh, humorless sound echoing across the room. She didn't respond beyond that, her mouth a thin line and her hands clenched at her sides. Isaac decided to say nothing for the time being; Lyona was a devastating force when angered. She crossed her arms over her jacket, right before immediately uncrossing them and smoothing it down.
Isaac didn't dare break his attentive stance until she told him to.
As if reading his mind, the next words out of her mouth were, "At ease, Captain."
He relaxed more than other soldiers would have; the freedom of his closeness to Lyona allowed him that.
"What did she want?" he asked. He was honestly curious, but cautious to approach the subject. The late Admiral's wife down here at the Orchestrate headquarters? Just to talk to Lyona?
"To remind me," Lyona finally said, her voice tense with barely contained frustration. "For what has to be the fourth time this month, that a woman should not be attempting to demean herself with a mans work." She let out a laugh, the same as the one before. "And that I should not be so keen to forget the gentle nature of my sex."
"That's ridiculous," Isaac said instantly. "You're perfect for this job. She's just a sexist, old bat who resents her husband and the Navy."
"I don't require your comfort, Captain!" she snapped. "I can handle myself."
Isaac didn't even blink. "I don't recall saying you couldn't, Colonel." He stressed the last word, leaning back into his formal stance. "I was just stating a fact."
Lyona looked at him, blue eyes narrowed, and he stared back. After a moment his eyes fell to the floor, signaling submission and she sighed.
"Oh, don't pull that with me," She said. She put a finger under his chin and pulled his head up. He could see eye to eye with her now; it never failed to amaze him how tall she was. Without her in her heels, or him in his boots, they stood at even height.
"Girls shouldn't be that tall," he said. She stared at him for a moment, gauging if he was serious, and then burst out laughing; honest laughter this time. He took that as a sign of peace and relaxed again.
He sat down in the leather chair in front of her desk and leaned back, head resting on the chair's back so he could look at the ceiling. It was a dull mustard color, one of his least favorites.
"We're a bit of a mess, aren't we?" she asked him quietly. "You and I?" He heard the creak of leather that told him she had sat down behind her desk.
"When was the last time you slept, Lyona?" he asked eager for a change of subject. They had both agreed a long time ago that feelings for each other were to be pushed aside. There was a war on, and that had to come first.
"Two or so days ago," she said. There was no inflection in her voice. "And you were wrong."
"I'm never wrong," Isaac interjected.
"She doesn't resent the Navy," she pressed on as if uninterrupted. "Mrs. Rousseau, I mean. She has complete respect for both the Army and the Navy."
"Almost never," Isaac amended. "Almost."
"She really does just think that I don't belong here. She thinks my time is better spent having babies and...decorating a kitchen to cook meals for my husband."
"That wouldn't work. You're a terrible cook."
She cracked a small smile, but it was gone quick as it had come. "I want to get married, Isaac. Just not now. And not if it means giving all this up."
She gestured around her and Isaac knew that she was gesturing at more than just her office and the building around them. She was thinking about her entire career and the life she had build here. The reputation she had spent nearly her whole twenty two years achieving.
"I'd never make you give all this up," Isaac said, feeling slightly bold. "It's who you are."
Lyona didn't say anything for awhile after that and the two of them sat in an uncomfortable silence while she rustled through papers on her desk. He saw the dirt and gunpowder underneath her fingernails and fought back a smile; she had been working with her gun recently. Probably working off stress or training that very afternoon, mere hours before her meeting with Rousseau's wife.
He admired her. He always had. Physical and rough where other women were delicate and gentle. Made of steel and gunpowder instead of porcelain and lace. And he knew that she admired him to, in the way that all men know when a woman admires them.
After more silence and awkward coughing, Lyona pushed an envelope stuffed full of papers towards him. He could make out a few dates at the top of papers; each one was dated in between last week and twenty years ago. He stared blankly at her, feeling stupid.
"What do I do with this?"
"You work from it. That's what officers do with case files, Captain." Her tone was gentle now. Almost jesting.
"This is my case?" Isaac asked. You're giving me my own case?" He pulled out some of the papers and looked across them eagerly. "This is the Martin-Richard case. You just gave me the Martin-Richard case!" He looked up at her, grinning broadly now. "Every other Captain I know wants this case!"
"You're the only one who pulls through for me anymore, Isaac," she said simply.
Isaac grinned. "That's because I believe in you."
"Thanks," Lyona said thickly. He was fairly sure she looked like she was going to cry. He looked away, pretending not too notice. He put the papers back in the envelope.
"You're a different type of woman, you know that?" he said quietly. She looked at him, eyes wide with surprise; they generally avoided talking like this at work. Or at all. "You're doing all the work the big boys upstairs do, faster and better than they could do it." He leaned forward in his seat. "You belong in a higher office. You're paving the way for other women in the Order." He stood up and tapped her on the top of the head lightly with the envelope, a daringly familiar gesture. "Please don't go forgetting that, Colonel. You're important here."
Lyona stared back at him blankly and he saw the tears threatening to rise up.
He looked away again.
"You should go," she said. "Brief your team and whatnot."
Her voice sounded muffled and, without looking at her, he stood and crossed the floor as quickly as he could. He was reaching for the doorknob when he heard her say from behind him,
"You're different too, Isaac. Really different."
"Different is good," Isaac shrugged as he opened the door. "Different is always better." He turned, unable to leave without another look at her, stood straight for a moment, and saluted her. There were twin tracks of tears on her cheeks that he forced himself to believe he imagined, before he left the room, clicking the door shut behind him.
************
Ugh, when was the last time I did anything in that era? *Bleh* It's bad and needs some editing, research and patching, but it got me writing. =D And I'd rather be writing badly then not writing at all. Thanks <3

They had nothing to say to each other and the awkward silence filled the air. It came to this once again, somehow after screaming and yelling out all they had to say it would just fall silent. Neither knowing what to say next to the other, both wondering "why?". They both deeply loved each other but couldn't seem to let go of their own insecurities and as they sat there thinking it was over for sure he suddenly reached out for her and hugged her tight. Despite everything and all the opposition that made them so insecure in the first place they looked at each other and faintly smiled knowing that the decision was still the same in their hearts and that no matter what the circumstance was they'd always fight for their love to be accepted... Forgiven again and able to stay together no matter what!
sorry if its lame its almost 2 am lol can't think razz

I know, I know, I've been MIA for so long... lol But hey better late than never. So my eager authors to be, I have for a treat, a special list of prompts for you to meet! And here we go again!!! biggrin
Creative Writing Prompts:
1. Leave you computer, take a pen or pencil (writing utensil), go outside and find a nice big tree and sit underneath it (if there's a tree to sit under). Clear your mind and write the first three words that come to mind (your welcome to add more but start with three) then using those three words create a scene, and from their a story.
2. IT'S WORD CHAIN TIME!!! Write your favorite word down on a piece of paper, or type it out. Then take one element from that word to form another word. (i.e. chain, game, gaze, age, fade, dave, dig, ding, doom, swoon, etc....) Then using the words you came up with write a poem.
3. Start your story with one of these lines: "In the small amount of time we had together...", " The time was getting close, and she had still not arrived", "The dragon had flown from its lair and was headed..."
4. Take anyone of your favorite songs and "borrow" one line from the song. Form either a poem or a story around that one line.
And in the words of LMFAO, "SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING!" biggrin

Free at last! I laughed, feeling of the wind on my face. I looked up at the star-filled sky and filled my lungs with the crisp, fresh air. Neon - the blue moon - was rising over the hills in the distance. I felt I could dance for joy, and so I did, spinning and prancing about on the bow of the small boat. After ten years of imprisonment, I am finally free. As soon as we escape the Circle I will regain my powers, and then I will morph and then I can take flight again! I will then return to my homeland. Gods above send that it still stands. I will gather the People, and then we shall seek vengeance for the wrongs that have been done to us. As I looked to the sky and a shooting star went by. I held my hand to my heart. It was an omen among the People. A shooting star meant new beginnings.

geisha sayah 7. Write a series of haiku. Haiku is a short poem comprised of 3 lines. The first line is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables and the third line is 5 lines. Centuries ago Before the gods were betrayed The lands were at peace. Now the heavens writhe And the lands recoil in shock Pointless wars break out. Cities disappear In fire and water and rage And the land shudders. The magics now fail Gods flee to the mortal realm In hope of safety. Many have now died In the turmoil and violence Shaking the five lands. Our only hope lies In a small demi-god child Destined to bring peace. But he is opposed By another such small child Fiery of eye. The two are balanced But only one shall survive In our dying world. (What do you think? I'm not accostomed to writing poems, but I gave it my all. This poem is about a world I'm creating where a prophesized villian and hero rise up to conquer the world.)

Hey these are friggin amazing! This is way makes me want to write! Please keep up the great work. Each one lead into the next one perfectly. It was a really good transition. The only one I had some problems with was: But he is opposed By another such small child Fiery of way and eye. My issue with this one was the second line. In my opinion- By such another small child sounds better but I can hear your line and it has a unique ring to it.

geisha sayah 10. Write a job resume for a character from a fairy tale or from Aesop fables. (Here's my resume for Snow White. I was inspired to pick Snow White because my drama class has written and will perform a fractured fairy tale and I get to be Snow White! I wrote most of my lines. I used an online resume making program and screenshot it because I honestly could not be bothered re-writing it. This was amusing to do, but the end result isn't as interesting. Anyways here it is.)
