Name: Hornetaur
Type: Neopteron
Average height(length)/ weight: 2ft / 15-30 lbs
Habitat: The main habitat of the Hornetaur is the jungle, but it has also been sighted in the Swamps and colder Desert areas.
Nature: Unlike the blind aggression of their cousin vespoids, they ignore passerbyers unless interupted from their regimen of collecting the meaty insides of nuts and fruits for their larvae. They are inquisitive when pestered, and will often create a scent to paint an intruder for all other of hornetaur to know.
Capabilities: Hornetaurs do not have a defined defense mechanism, so they are easy pickings for insectivores.
Physical traits: Hornetaurs sport a large horn for their size, which may be used to fend off rivals in mating season. Their legs are strong, much like a Grasshopper's, so they can jump great distances. They are simple creatures with 6 appendages (four legs, two wings.)
Common facts and lore: Hornetaurs are relatively peaceful compared to the Vespoid. However, if threatened, they will frequently jump over the hunter to attack them. This is more of a nuisance then a real threat.
