The Caldecott Tunnel allows car traffic through Berkley Hills for the mortals, but a secret middle tunnel will lead future members of the legion into Camp Jupiter. It is guarded at all times by at least two heavily armed campers to ward off mortals who can see through the Mist and monsters who think they have what it takes to barge in and wreak havoc on the Romans. When a new demigod shows up, at least one takes the time to lead them through before running off again before someone tells a praetor they've abandoned their post.
