An Original Username A soft sigh escaped the lips of this young spawn as he sat on a nearby bench outside of the movie theater. His foot tapped impatiently against the concrete sidewalk and his tail twitched in anticipation. He kept his dual-colored eyes downcast, but every once in a while, if someone walked by, those eyes would peer up in hope, only to drift back downward in disappointment. The tapping foot increased its pace as Llujah became more and more agitated. Surely he wouldn't be this late, would he? How long had it been? This was the correct time, wasn't it? Did Llujah get the wrong address? Doubtful thoughts swam in his mind as the time continued to pass, and the young spawn's date still failed to show up. The Greed spawn bit his lip lightly as he smoothed out the skirt of his purple and black plaid dress with laced, elbow-length, finger-less gloves upon his hand. He itched to get his cell phone to check for the time and text his date, but tried and tried to resist. He should place more faith in his date, he knew. It wouldn't be long now until his date would show. He would show up. He wouldn't stand Llu up... Would he? Oh, God, Llu hoped not. He wasn't sure if he could take that kind of rejection. After all, this was his first real date. With a real guy. It wasn't someone particularly special, true. Just a kid that was a few of Llu's classes. He had talked with the kid for a short time, and he seemed okay. He was pretty handsome, too, which was a total plus. Llujah wasn't too sure, though... Arrghh, it seemed like he had been waiting forever! What was taking him so long?! Unable to resist the temptation any longer, Llujah reached into his dress pocket and pulled out his neon-pink cell phone. He was shocked to discover that the time was in fact 3:35. "What the hell!" The movie had started twenty minutes ago! And he still hadn't shown up! There was no sign of him anywhere; not on the sidewalk, not in the parking lot, not anywhere! ...He wasn't going to show up, was he? No... He probably wasn't. He probably didn't have any intentions to show up at all. Llujah's gaze hardened as he stared at the ground, his hands clenching his phone tightly in his lap. A flustered and angry flush of color rushed to Llu's freckled cheeks and his eyes began to water. "...Bastards."

If there was one thing that Gabriel was not expecting to find on his day off, it was a familiar little ball of pink-and-purple fluff that he hadn't seen in... well, quite a long time at this point. In fact, last he'd seen that girl, he was still younger than she was, after all!
His trip to the theatre was not the usual sort (consume the Dance Dance Revolution game until kicked out, making bets with random strangers and winning lots of money), but this time a treat. An actual treat, for himself! After having been wrapped up in the house for so long, awake only at night to practice his ballet, he'd wanted a chance to go out during the day, enjoy the sunshine! Sure, it didn't quite go as planned, with his eyes screaming at the sunlight after so long, and leaving him going out in a light jacket, sunglasses, and a baseball cap; more civilian clothes than he would usually consent to wearing.
But on top of it, in his pocket was a wallet, in which were two bills: Twenty five dollars in total. Twenty-five dollars, once a month, as Elias had kindly and wonderfully agreed to give him, in order to prevent the breakdown that had happened earlier in the week. As he would also provide hosting for a friend or two each month as well, it was asked that Gabriel generally keep the money-supplied day as one that he spent by himself, but when those deep red eyes of his grazed over the lithe form that sat, eyes lowered and filled with tears, so pretty on a bench by her lonesome, he had to backpedal, glancing over the edge of his glasses at her.
"...Holly?" he asked, smiling a bit before he noticed again the tears in his friend's eyes. The smile faded, and he knelt in front of the other, gently brushing the tips of his fingers beneath one of her eyes, giving her a supportive smile. "Now-now... what has such a pretty girl so sad...?"

A Original Username The sound of that old and familiar nickname, and the voice that accompanied it, caused Llujah to poause momentarily. 'Holly?' He hadn't that name in a long time. In fact, the only person who ever called him that was the Pride spawn, Gabriel. Yes, that young, happy Gabriel. It had been so long since Llu had last seen his younger friend. But this voice that called him by his nickname wasn't exactly like Gabriel's voice. It was much too bass to be his. But still... Llujah's eyes widened as a green-scaled finger gingerly brushed the dangerous tears from his cheeks. The faintest of blushes colored his face where those fingers had touched as he glanced upward and saw, to his utter surprise, a much older and much more... handsome Gabriel. He looked even older than Llujah now, and still he used that female-nickname! Could he not tell, even after all of this time, that Llujah was a boy? ...How amusing. "G-Gabriel! Oh my God, it's so nice to see you! You've gotten... so much taller." Llujah noted this as he looked his old friend up and down. He looked very slender and fit, and... Damn. He looked fine. But enough of that! Gabriel was concerned for him, after all! Llu smiled a little and chuckled awkwardly. "Oh, it's... It's nothing really. Nothing I should be crying over, honestly, heh." As he spoke, his wings flicked anxiously. His eyes still looked about for any sign of his date, but the motions were a touch more frantic then they were before. "I'm just... Well... See, I was waiting here for, um..." The spawn absently brushed a stray piece of bubble-gum pink hair behind his pointed ears. "...For my date. We were gonna see a movie, but he hasn't shown up yet, and the movie started almost half an hour ago, so..." His eyes became watery and filled with tears again, threatening to spill over. "...Yeah." How embarrassing.

Ego boost after ego boost reminded Gabriel of exactly why he pursued company so fervently once upon a time. The young man frowned at the story, heart pained for the tears that threatened to run down Llujah's smooth, freckled cheeks. Once more did his green-tipped fingers reach up to gently wipe away any hint of saline from the edges of the lovely girl's eyes. "Come now, if he didn't show up, he's definitely not worth crying over, is he?
"What a jerk..." he grumbled, getting a bit theatrical as he got to his feet and glared in an innocent direction. "Abandoning a pretty girl all alone in front of a movie theatre! She could get hurt, all alone like that! Or worse!! And breaking his promise on top of that! He deserves to be arrested, or at least a terrible punishment, and I think that I have an idea for what that could be..." he stated, first toward the direction he'd chosen, and then with a sly smile toward the lonesome girl. Polite as he had never been, he knelt at her feet once more, taking one of her hands and kissing the back of it.
"I would be happy to go with you to a movie, Holly. Especially to get back at an a*****e," Gabriel said with a smile, standing and lifting the now-shorter female off of the bench. Idly, he mused on their new height-comparisons and briefly wondered how old his friend was, but that was written off almost immediately as his red eyes drifted over the movie advertisements. "...what were you going to see? Well, if that started there's probably not one for a long time, so what else do you wan'na see?"

An Original Username Gabriel's theatrics toward his conundrum were fairly amusing to behold, and Llujah had to stifle a small chuckle as his friend ranted and raved about what a good-for-nothing his supposed date was for standing Llu up. How kind it was of Gabriel to be so concerned over him... Even if he did still think that Llujah was a girl. Still. Here he was, a teenager, flat chest and lowered voice abundant. He knew that it was partially his own fault for not telling him in the first place that he was a cross-dresser, and so made all efforts to look like a girl. ...Still. You'd think he would sort of catch on by now. A much more fierce blush painted Llujah's cheeks as Gabriel gently lifted his hand and kissed it. Kissed it! Oh my God, oh my God! He had never been kissed like that before! Well, he had been kissed before by his mama, but everyone knew that that didn't count. But here, here was Gabriel, acting so gentlemanly and chivalrous, kissing his hand and offering to take him to a movie! And man, he was handsome... "Wha- Oh! You would take me to see a movie, Gabriel? R-really? Thank you! Oh my God, thank you so much! That's so nice!" How sweet of him! Taking Llu to see a movie in place of Llu's stupid-a** date. Former date, rather, heh-heh. The Greed spawn beamed as his now-older friend helped him off of the bench. Llu noticed his friend's eyes gravitating toward the movie advertisements nearby. After pocketing his phone, Llu smoothed out his skirt and glanced over in the direction of the posters. "Well... He said that he wanted to see this psychological thriller-type movie. I dunno. I thought it looked kind of creepy, honestly. But..." The spawn's eyes examined the posters greedily, eyeing each one with a curious gaze. They all looked pretty good... "...Mm, what about that one?" He pointed a painted finger in the direction of a newer movie: a romantic drama, with a twinge of suspense. "Should we go see that one?" Llu looked up at Gabriel beside him, hoping with all of his might that Gabriel would agree with his decision.

Anything that Gabriel noticed of the blush only served to boost his ego, not a second thought travelling to any other reason the young woman could have a face so red. He was quite charming, after all, it was no wonder she was embarrassed! Without the slightest hesitation, and certainly without a thought toward the girl that he was supposedly dating, he let his hand easily and calmly wrap around that of the other, briefly his improved sense of touch easily noticing the way that Llujah's small fingers didn't taper in the typically feminine sense. However, he paid that fact little mind; after all, she was still a girl, and maybe she was particularly sensitive about her fingers? For that matter, maybe she was fond of them! Regardless, he was in no mood to point out another's imperfections.
"That one looks wonderful~" the young man replied jovially, though he really hadn't the slightest idea what it was about. By the expressions of those on the poster and their proximity, he assumed that it was some kind of romance movie, but the characters seemed scared. Horror? No, probably not. After all, it sounded like Holly wasn't a big fan of scary movies. Surrendering to the fact that he was far from sure about what he was going to see, he shrugged his shoulders and tugged Llujah to the ticket-vendor, pausing when he realized that he had no idea how to say the words on the poster.
His eyes flicked back to it, skimming the letters and putting them together as well as he knew how, only for them to combine in an unfortunately incorrect manner. That was what he got for only knowing how to read in French and Russian. Briefly, an odd feeling washed over him, that he could only describe as the opposite of the way he usually felt about himself, but it was quickly dismissed as he approached the ticket counter. "Hello. I'd like to purchase two tickets for, uh..." he peered at the movie title, tongue traversing the words in a foreign pronunciation, sounding as though he was doing little more than slur the title before smiling at the woman, getting only a blank look in return.
"You... you want tickets for what?"

Llujah did not try to mask his delight when Gabriel took his hand and they began to walk together to the ticket counter. It was lovely to be going to see a movie with his old friend - his older friend, even - and personally, Llu fancied that he would enjoy this even more than if he saw something with his former-date. Screw him, anyway. Screw all of those jerks that made fun of him at that stupid school. Gabriel wasn't mean to him like they all were. He actually liked him as a friend, so everyone else could go suck it as far as Llu cared. That particular thought brought a smile to the spawn's face.
Llu greeted the woman at the counter with a small smile as Gabriel proceeded to purchase their tickets, but the older spawn seemed to be struggling with getting the words out. Llu looked up at his friend with slight bemusement as he mumbled and messed up the pronunciation and gave the woman a beaming grin, much to the confusion of both Llu and the employee. The cross-dresser blinked and turned to the woman.
"Uh... He means two tickets for 'The Saint,' please." After ordering the tickets, Llujah returned his confused gaze back up to Gabriel. What was up with that? Did Gabriel just muddy up the words to be funny? Or... Maybe he couldn't read? But that shouldn't be. Surely Gabriel knew how to read English... right?

The seconds seemed to audibly tick by from the moment that the words left Gabriel's mouth to the moment the tension was shattered by the younger spawn, leaving the pride child to take a slow step backward, looking puzzled. 'The Saint'? Those bright red eyes glanced back to the poster, but it read the same to him, and he was certain that attempting a Russian translation would be... well, impossible; the characters were wrong. Despite that, the save that he managed was fantastic.
"'The Saint'?" he questioned, paying the woman behind the counter smoothly. When the money left his hand, he lifted a green fingertip, tipping his sunglasses up and letting understanding dawn upon his tanned face, despite the horrible pain caused as his pupils shrunk to pinpricks in protest. "Ah-hah, so it is! It would seem these glasses aren't doing wonderfully for my sight; I couldn't seem to tell the letters apart," he explained, easily laughing off the situation as he took the tickets and the receipt, hand never leaving his date's.
"Shall we, then?" he asked smoothly, escorting her through the front of the theatre and to the snack vendor, feeling his mouth salivate at the simple idea of theatre food. After all, his brother and he used to find a way to go straight in and buy whatever they could afford, no movie involved. It was delicious enough to enjoy on its own. Though he knew nothing of English, the boy was a prodigy at simple math, and he would easily be able to buy Llujah one of everything ( willing to sacrifice his own tastes for the lady's, of course ). "Whatever you want, Holly; lady's choice."

A slight chuckle escaped Llujah's lips as Gabriel explained his apparent blunder with his glasses. It made Llu wonder: if that was the case, then why did Gabriel wear such things? He did not dwell on the matter for very long, though, as he was whisked off to the snack vendor by his dear friend. As they neared, the spawn's sensitive senses were bombarded with delicious and succulent scents wafting from all around him and it made the preteen dizzy with delight. He eyed the different candy and snacks greedily, and his joy by no means was diminished by the offer of anything he wanted. Llu could barely contain his happiness, and he squeezed Gabriel's hand in his.
"Uhm...." Llu quickly glanced over all of his options once, twice, three times again, thinking about which ones he wanted and which ones would taste better and all sorts of other criteria. "I want a large popcorn with extra butter and that cheesy flavoring. And I want some of those Junior Mints and some Twizzlers, and also those gummi bears, 'cause I haven't had gummi bears in a long time. And can I get a jumbo pretzel, too? Oh yeah! And those little ice cream nibbler things, and an extra large soda. A Suicide, preferably: you know what that is, right? And I also want some churros, and maybe a slice of pizza..." ...Gabriel would have no money left after this venture.

Every single thing that the other spawn listed made Gabriel's hopes fall first, before crashing through the floor and beginning their descent to Hell. He hadn't been given that much... that is to say, he did have that much money on him, but he had been told it was for emergencies. That it was for times where he needed to take a taxi home or ran out of money for the bus or had any reason to use a pay phone. The young man swallowed thickly, letting the motion take any hesitations with it as the smile came back to his face, reminding himself how good it felt to make someone happy, especially by means of buying them things.
"Gladly. Though I'm going to hope that you'll share them with me if I help you carry all of that," he said with a low chuckle, flashing that lovely smile to his lovely date. Slowly winding their way through the snack counters, gathering everything that had been named, Gabriel wasn't surprised by the dirty looks that were pinned to them at the cash register, taking forever as their entire pile of food was typed into the register. Fishing into the depths of his wallet, he produced the money needed, biting his lip as he received three dollars and eighteen cents in change, telling himself it was better than nothing and putting it back in the emergency-change pocket of his wallet.
"Let us away!" he spoke happily, gathering as much as he could carry to leave Llu with only the soda and the drinks, waiting while the younger spawn retrieved straws before escorting her to the theatre itself after an awkward moment of needing the ticket-taker to fish into his pocket for the tickets, hands drifting lower than he'd ever intended to let a male's hands drift. He shivered as they went through the doors, but thought nothing of it, glad to get comfortable in a corner of the theatre, food in piles around them.

Unaware, perhaps blissfully so, of his date's despair at wasting all of his precious funds, Llujah happily collected the drinks and let Gabriel carry the rest of his exorbitant amount of snacks and goodies. He too noticed the dirty looks given to him by the other theater patrons, as well as the employees, but he didn't really care one way or another what they all thought. He was being treated, and Gabriel had told him that he could get anything. Everyone else was just envious that they didn't have as great a friend as Gabriel.
After quickly retrieving the straws, Llu happily ran after Gabriel as the older spawn led him to the ticket-taker and through the doors of their theater. They took a pair of comfortable seats and sat with their great amounts of food around them. Llu greedily took his box of Twizzlers and immediately broke into it, devouring the candy two at a time. In front of him on the gigantic screen, previews were still rolling in a long, endless loop, playing advertisements for television shows, upcoming special programs, and even for restaurants and stores nearby the movie theater itself.
Llujah flicked his wings and took a sip of his large soda before turning to Gabriel beside him. "When do you think the movie will start," he asked impatiently. He was itching to get to see the movie; the posters and ads for it all looked enticing, and wanted to get to it as soon as humanly possible.

Despite the fact that Gabriel was far from happy about having to spend what little money he had to his name, it was immediately made worth the price when he saw just how happy he'd made the lovely greed girl. It was with idle eyes that he watched he snack away at the food he'd bought, watching the silver screen's light play across her slim figure and letting his mind wander. It was surprising that the diligence child could put away so much food without any of it clinging to her unattractively, but she seemed to be able to do it fine.
The question made Gabriel's thought-drooped headwings perk up a bit and he glanced toward the screen. "I'm not sure a--" Not even finished with the statement and the lights dimmed, causing the pride boy to chuckle softly. "Well, if I were to guess now, I would say that it might start after the previews," he murmured as the audience went quiet and the movie previews began, patience allowing the boy to easily settle, though he was definitely not about to hesitate shoveling butter-soaked popcorn into his mouth.
There were, of course, a few things nagging at his brain. One of the big ones was the fact that he was currently on a date with someone ( who was not Ilyrosa, though he was trying to push her rage from his mind, rather unsuccessfully ). As such, he was a bit at a loss for what to do. He was sure that he was supposed to progress it in the usual way that a male progresses a date, and he knew how to do that fine, but Llujah was younger than him, and he hadn't the slightest idea how far she might have gotten, and how far might be too far. Regardless, he wasn't planning on making a move while there were still preview on the screen. He would save that for later...

Gabriel seemed to be true to his word, for just as he had said, the movie, indeed, started after the theater darkened and the previews rolled. Llujah sat comfortably in his seat, transfixed by the movie before him. All the while, he continually crammed a melange of popcorn, treats, and the occasional sip of soda into his mouth. Every once in a while, his eyes would flicker over to the older spawn sitting right beside him and Llu's thoughts would begin to wander.
Even while the theater was darkened, Gabriel had an impressive silhouette against the lights and colors from the silver screen. He looked a lot more stately and dignified than Llujah had last seen him. ...Of course, Gabriel was still a child, then, wasn't he? How could he have grown so much in such a short period of time? And Llu hadn't even had that much of a growth spurt since then... Slightly aggravating, but of little concern.
What was slightly disorienting to Llu was how handsome Gabriel had become in the time that they had been apart. It was like he was an entirely different person than the child Llu had known. Gabriel had always been very kind and nice to him, but now that he was significantly older than Llu himself, it almost seemed like Gabriel was flirting with him. But of course, that was ridiculous. He was just a really good friend. That was all. He wouldn't be attracted with Llujah, would he...? Surely Gabriel knew by now that Llujah was no lady. No. The very idea of Gabriel flirting with him was preposterous.
...Even so, Llujah couldn't help suppressing a small rush of color to his cheeks as he thought this, and he quickly turned his full attention back to the screen, stuffing a handful of popcorn into his face.
