Flint unclicked the door of her house, it wasn't very big, but it was good enough, going in she turned the lights on and basked in the warm of the central heating system, shrugging off her snow drenched coat. hearing a a few squeaks she bent over to pick up her pet, a little italian greyhound, Sprinkler. She noted the absence of the smell of warm stew and the sound of the television on. Walking to the kitchen she saw a note on the fridge, clamped under a red fridge magnet,

-Flint, your mom and i have decided to take a little vacation together, so i hope you'll look after the house, there's leftovers in the fridge and as you know Aden's at camp this week, so sweetie you're alone until then, remember to do the laundry and lock up before you leave, love, Mom and dad-

Seeing the note, she felt a little joy inside, but brushed it off, no big deal, she's probably going to be studying the whole time anyway, with finals coming up and all. Going up the stairs she opened the door to her room, getting a chocolate bar from her stash in her drawer, After a shower she noticed there was a blue case on her desk, it was just blue, no pictures or descriptions, but it looked like a game, in the middle were words engraved in gold "Orion's Myth" that was odd, she never remembered owning that game, sure she'd played a few in the past but... this one, this one was strange. Sitting in her desk chair she turned on her desktop and slid in the CD, she knew she said she would study, but she was just so curious, ==game loading== said the computer in swirly text, ==looking for another player== the text changed. Why was it looking for someone else? isn't this a single player game? and she wasn't playing online.

The game was loading... and loading... and loading... eventually Flint fell asleep on her desk, only it moment too soon though it seemed, when her computer screen went dark, and only two words appeared on the screen =player found=

As fresh, lonely air filled the atmosphere and the scent of old books danced around it, Flint awoke on a cold, oak floor, her sight was blurry at first, but browns, reds, blues and greens settled into her eyes. The startled girl sat up, looking up at what was once a marvellous dome, but now it bore a gaping hole through it's gold painted glass, revealing the blue, endless sky above. Flint shivered as another breeze blew, clutching her sweater closer to her, only to realise the only thing she could grab was her bare skin, looking down at herself, she mumbled, "what the..." at her wardrobe, a worn, leather tube top with straps going around her neck, tying at the back, the middle bore a large, sea blue jewel, her midriff was bare, with a blue tattoo around her belly button continuing down below her leather and metal plated skirt, her hands bore braces around him, like wonder woman, and her fuzzy slippers were replaced with heavy duty gladiators, and not those girls wear to the mall every weekend, she was talking about thick soled, leather strapped, all the way up to her calves, studded with the same sea blue jewel at the bottom of each one. She touched her hair, at least that hadn't changed, only there was a little, tribal looking weave of hair down the front of her head now, it looked like a braid, but much more complicated, with blue string.
As she got up to her feet she looked around, she seemed to be in the ruins of what once, was a great library, the books were still in their shelves, but granted, they were old, in the bookcases that reached all the way to the high ceiling, sometimes there was a vintage ladder attached to them, too rusty to use, there were even a few trees growing about the place, sprouting from the floor up, big and small. "hello..." Flint's voice echoed.

Flint looked to the direction of the voice, she saw a young man laying on the ground of the library,on an elevated platform that used to be a study area with sofas and possibly a coffee machine, but it had all been torn to shreds, she tried waving, then tried approaching him. Patting her sides she looked about for any means of defence, one of her hands bore a metal glove, sophisticated and tight fitting all the way up her forearm. On her back was strapped a trident, made of glimmering titanium, it's three pointed head stretched up higher than she was. This way she knew if in any case the man were to attack her, she'd be ready.
Closening to him she saw he had tattoos too, like her, except his were on his eyes, and he too had weapons, hopefully he didn't know how to use them. Why was she thinking in such a hostile manner, it seemed so... natural to think like this, something was definitely messing with her, as she waited for a reply she thought of what she was doing before she slept, she took a shower, played that stupid computer game... the game. This couldn't be... no that's impossible.

"i... don't know," she decided to try the impossible, "i think... we're in a game, what did you do before you ended up here?" She used a hand to help him up, her metal one. All around her were dusty books, trees, a few random treasure chests now that she looked about. "we should find a way out, it's too quiet in here." Again she had no idea why she said that, it just came to her. In the distance a roar sounded, followed by fast pattering on the ground, "something's coming...." she whispered to herself, drawing her trident like it was natural. All of a sudden a mad beast pounced up from behind a bookshelf, it stood as big as an elephant, and had 5 rows of teeth with beady, bloodthirsty eyes, Flint backed up, but it howled, and with that papers flew up in the air, Adrenaline started to pump through her and she made a break for it, toppling a bookcase to slow it down as she ran, she didn't care for the guy she just helped up, he might follow her, he might not, but she could hear the beast behind her, and she could hear it running catching up, she's gonna have to stop and fight eventually.

Flint spun around, her shoes proved good grip as she wasted no time in drawing out her trident, settling for stabbing the beast in the eye with it, expertly she pulled herself up, with the weapon lodged in it's eyeball, onto it's head and rode it like a horse, she didn't know what came over her, the movements seemed to flow like they were inbuilt that way. she pulled out the bloody trident and stabbed it again in it's neck but the creature was stronger this time and threw her off onto the ground, she skidded and hit the back of a chair, her blurrly vision took a while to steady, but she could see clearly the beast was right in front of her with one bad eye, bearing it's fangs close to her face, ready to rip it apart.

Flint panted, still in shock, she tried to get up but her body felt numb. Suddenly the beast exploded into little crystals, most of which flowed into the young man beside her. As she saw the minority of the shiny bits penetrate her skin she felt rejuvenated, being able to stand up. Doing so she saw the floor before her was glowing slightly, before long symbols and words started to appear as if they were being carved, the language looked ancient and foreign but yet she could read it, "can you read it?" she asked the young man.

Flint read what she could, not really understanding herself until she mouthed out the words, "two heros blown in the world of Piymth, two lost souls will soon become revengers of the land, and relive the story, of Orion's myth..." a thought struck her, "that's it! Orion's Myth, that was the game i was playing before i fell asleep."
