Since it's getting close to time, I'm putting my other projects on hold and getting started.
Thing is... I've got several ideas, so I want you guys to vote on your favorite!
1) Victorian Era London: Will use our main OC's and original Naruto characters, and will be set at a militant boys' school in a city very much like Victorian London and the surrounding countryside. Characters will be much their pre-shippuden ages.
2) Wizarding School: Speaking of London and Schools, this will be a quasi Harry Potter crossover, just with my rules based off of Rowling's work. In other words, no Potter characters and the school and it's houses will be original and fitting in with the Naruto world. (tell the truth, i might end up combining this with victorian if it's chosen)
3) Steampunk: Will take place in Ninja Skies timeline.
4) Space: Will be a science fiction romp in the far future. More Firefly than Star Trek.
5) Canon: Uh, pretty much self-explanatory there. Will take place about a year after the war's over, and go along the rewrite for SM that I'm doing in the other guild. So as Canon as humanly possible with the addition of Eidolons and Aeons and our OC's.
And that's not all! There will be a short story and art challenge put up in a few days! Look forward to it!

Ooh Harry Potter crossover or canon. Next vote would be Victorian. heart
Which reminds me to do that Harry Potter crosser pics sometime. Art may be a slow for now. I think my laptop officially died and have to share the family computer. I might get a new one this week (tomorrow possibly), though due to the big family vacation and all that, I am not sure.
Why laptop, why? We were already forced to buy a new TV last week. emo

I see no reason for wizards to hire ninjas but otherwise...
I insist that all birds of prey (such as ravens) be allowed as pets, Kaze be divination teacher that suffers from chronic bouts of randomly falling asleep and Akira be a manticore animagus (because of the part scorpian thing and I think it would be amusing for him to have wings but still be agoraphobic)

I insist that all birds of prey (such as ravens) be allowed as pets, Kaze be divination teacher that suffers from chronic bouts of randomly falling asleep and Akira be a manticore animagus (because of the part scorpian thing and I think it would be amusing for him to have wings but still be agoraphobic) LOL I can see the students throwing stuff at poor Kaze for some reason when he falls asleep during the middle of class. Yes, Karasu needs his bird/crow! heart Oh Yuko can work as the school nurse.

So far it seems that the wizarding school is it. I won't be doing second gen as of yet, but depending on how well it's received, I might eventually. This will just be a Christmas story for now. I haven't decided on the name of the school yet, but the four houses will be Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu. (Yes, based upon the Four Spiritual Animals of Chinese legend). The school will also concentrate on more of a Taoist sect of magic as opposed to the more traditional sect that the European school studies. Really, I need to look up what Rowling says about Eastern Wizards to better fit this, but sense I don't want to make it a straight crossover, I'm just interpreting right now. Anyhoo, any thoughts on this please share. Probably won't do the Victorian thing with it after all, I had a few more thoughts regarding this one since I posted that last night. EDIT: Hubby points out that since there are three major schools of Chinese magic, I am limiting myself if I just do the Taoist sect and ignore the others. So I'm going to have all three represented in various ways. The school itself will be a bit monastic, and since I'm having the pre-shippuden, pre-chunin exam ages (for even more fun), Sarutobi is going to be the headmaster. (He also suggested taking a "Journey to the West" approach. For those who aren't sure what that means, see the movie Forbidden Kingdom and anything regarding the Monkey King. As the world of Naruto is more China than Japan, it would strangely fit.) Oh and that Fifth Spirit Constellation mentioned in the Wiki article? In Japanese Tradition, that's the Void, so we'll get back to that laters... I am discussing familiars with my muses now. One thought is the 12 zodiacal animals, but another is going with Raccoon-Dog, Raptor (bird, and including the scavenging ones), Fox, and Turtle (for Tanuki, Tenguu, Kitsune, and Kappa) Which would you guys prefer? And one last opinion question. Should I have Oro as a teacher at this point in time?

If this is pre-shippuden and all that, I think Yuko would be about 17 (perfect for the last year actually). I purposely made her the same age as Itachi, though she was supposed to be a huge flirt when younger. xd
If going with the zodiac, she would probably be the tiger. Suzume would be about 15 (I think she is about two/three years younger than Yuko). They are the only two none second gen I have that would be alive unless AU rules changes every.
I don't really know about Chinese magic, so I can't really help there. sweatdrop I only know of the Chinese zodiac as well, nothing about the other one. The sa,es of the four spiritual animals reminds me of a part of Yu Yu Hakusho.
Oro could be the dark arts teacher. Someone has to do it. I can see Konan teaching Chinese calligraphy, which would be important.

Suzume might be a good choice for Byakko though, that was going to be a slightly less prestigious house. Genbu house has the wizards that are masters of defensive magic. Suzaku was once famous for having the best wizards from the school, but now is a hodge-podge of rejects. Or so it seems. Anyhooo... I have decided how I'm doing wands as well. Students will have a choice between a bokken or a staff and will learn a martial art that corresponds to that. Construction of the weapon will be the same way as the wand, though I am adding bamboo to the list of woods used. Paper charms and Buddhist rosaries are going to be a big part of the school as well. Give me a sec on teachers. There's some wrangling I have to do.

Here is another thought for the school uniforms: Female: As you can see, there is a choice of straight bow or tie. The basic uniform is the same for all houses, but Seiryuu and Suzaku both have the navy top and red plaid skirt while Byakko and Genbu have the black top and black plaid skirt. Socks and bows reflect your house (again Blue, Red, White, or Black) Male: The main color of the male uniform corresponds with their house while the undershirt is always white. Edit: I haven't forgotten about robes! (Just imagine the gold and tan on the first one is red) HEY! Extra points if you can guess all the avatars used here!

The uniforms look cute, I believe the Chinese have sailor style uniforms like Japan, though don't quote me on that as I am not sure.
The like the option of staff and mixing it with martial arts (I know they believed in a lot of spiritual stuff. Qigong was used for healing while they used T'ai Chi along with different styles of Kung fu for defense. A lot of monks studied animals and learned it to protect themselves from others that would try to hurt them. They used it with different schools. Saw a documentary once). I can look up some Chinese martial arts if you need me to later. I need to do so anyways for Suzume's and Yui's fighting style (Yui is dead but I thought it would be cool to make an action pic for her someday).
Ooh, if they need paper charms, I can so see Konan teaching students how to make that and how to write the calligraphy (just seems fitting for her in my opinion and I never saw her as evil, she just supported Pain (Nagato) and just like her character a lot). Each symbol stands for different things right? This is similar to Rei/Raye off Sailor Moon right and the Shinto religion?
As for the Avatars, I am going to guess the last two as Sora and Hoshi right? (The one in the blue dress with the dragon is Yuko). One looks like Tenten.

And still working on the teachers. I'm going to have the classes more Eastern influenced, but there will be an Occidental studies class.

Konan is more than likely going to be a teacher of calligraphy and of charms. There will be different schools of martial arts being taught, depending on the area of study the student will take. I'll be mixing a good bit of Eastern mythologies and philosophies.

Ooh using the hand seals is a good idea, since they represent animals of the zodiac as well right.
And I was completely off on some of those avis. Though to be fair, some characters I wasn't sure what they looked like and others look similar to something else. And I just remembered that Hoshi was the one with silver hair and that was someone else. sweatdrop

They do, and there are others not shown in Naruto that represent different elements.
Okie, so far classes I have:
Potions (Poisons, Antidotes, Medicines)
Accupuncture
Meditation
Charms (non-paper objects)
Charms (paper)
Incantations/Prayers
Occidental Studies
Martial Arts (varies depending on weapon of choice)
that's not all... I have still more research!

I saw the challenge. I don't know about writing a story as I don't really have any ideas yet, but can that include art as well? One I am working on is based off a song [sort of xd ] Maybe I can try to write a story to go along with it.
