Hello everyone....
As the holiday season is approaching, and as mention previously it will be just my dad and me for Thanksgiving dinner. We may order a prix fixe for the dinner, but it would be nice to at least make dessert. Does anyone have any (near) fail-safe recipes for pie?! Links to ones you have made or your own creations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What kind of pie did you have in mind? I made a sweet potato pie one year for Thanksgiving that was so well received, I had a neighbor trying to sneak it/smuggle it back to her house mid-meal hahah.

Sailor Blue Rose Wow! Then it must be good. Pass it over! Recipe courtesy of Food network (which rocks the house by the way x3 ) http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/sweet-potato-pie-recipe/index.htmlI didnt end up making the whipped topping, or the pecan bit for mine. Personally I dont think it was really necessary (plus I was taking care of so many other things that Thanksgiving heh) Everyone seemed to really like the orange flavor paired with the sweet potato, they thought it made the pie more sophisticated/more than just a normal pie. Happy Baking!

I don't have any recipes, unfortunately, though I do have an idea you can try! cat_sweatdrop
Make mini pies by using muffin/cupcake tins. That way everyone gets their own equal portion little pies. :3

sorry it's late, but the "seasoned apples" recipe i posted in the sweet section is actually a recipe for apple pie filling. (just make sure you make the crust yourself, it always tastes better that way. ^^)
hope you had a happy thanksgiving anyway sweatdrop
