On this level, there are moving bookcases, which any explorer must hop across in order to get to another group of staircases, scattered all over this floor. There are numerous bookcases, but most of them are booby trapped, meaning that it is highly dangerous to remove books from their shelves.

"Why did I volunteer to patrol this insufferable Library?" Iziz asked himself as he rode a bookcase "Oh yeah... because I didn't I had no choice."

Iziz wasn't very happy with his job at the moment. He was thinking of just quiting his job as security and see if there was any mercenary work in the city... he was sure there would be. Or maybe he could just moonlight instead of quiting his job... seemed like a good way to not only make some more cash but also get a little more excitement.

Mamoru had hurried across the campus and into the Library Island with Friday on his shoulders. What are you doing you idiot?! This isn't the kind of attention you wan! Mamoru repeatedly told himself in his mind but his body just wanted to get this over with as fast as possible. He had rushed into the Library and down the stairs, while some librarians and attendants were scolding him for running before they saw what exactly he was carrying. Yeah, it was going to take a little while for Mamoru to get over this. After making his way down the stairs to the first basement he was more pleased to see it empty, well classes had just let out so most probably went for food right? Mamoru set Friday down in front of him, finally letting her stand as he caught his breath a little. "What was I thinking? I can't believe I did that ..." Mamoru said to himself shaking his head lightly. He cautiously looked at Friday, expecting some kind of negative reaction, hell he felt weird having done that. He quickly averted his gaze from her thought as he looked around the basement. He said the first basement floor ... but was he really going to be here already? He asked yesterday ... He's probably not even here.

"Goody! I knew I picked the right student for the job!" Came the sudden, and probably kind of frighteningly sudden, voice of a cheery Hermes. He appeared behind Mamoru and Friday, smirking. Friday seemed to flinch at the man's presence, for a reason she couldn't quite understand, and started to get up to try and get out. However, she was abruptly pulled back, into a chair that was slid underneath her, and her shoulders held still by a black haired girl, red eyes glimmering brighter than Friday's own eyes. Her breathing was barely audible past teh gas mask. He walked over so he stood by them both, and chuckled as he pat Mamoru's shoulder. The crystal Mamoru had suddenly materialized in front of Mamoru, as Hermes smirked and tapped the tip once. Its energy flared before settling down, sinking into itself. "Congratulations boy. Your safe from harm. From me, anyway." he said with a chuckle. An energy began sparking around the small area they occupied, some bookshelves glowing before fading, and forming a barrier around them. It wasn't even normal magic. A near impenetrable barrier no normal magic or strong magic could easily pierce for the time being. It would merely help divert attention from the energy source in this spot, since suddenly any feeling of anything here disappeared, and also keep people who spotted him away. But there was a small hole, about Mamoru's height. "I don't honestly care if you stay. Audience or not, I've never been too picky. But it's up to you. But you only have one minute to decide." He warned, gesturing to the exit space in the barrier.

Mamoru's ears jolted to stand under his hat as his tail threatened to poke out from his pants as well. To say he was startled would have been an understatement. Damn it! What the hell is wit this guy and his entrances?! That was the second time Mamoru almost had a heart attack from Hermes' arrival. "Y-Yeah yeah ... I brought the girl." Mamoru grumbled out, still trying to settle his racing heartbeat. He merely watched as another girl, apparently another of Hermes' guards?, showed up and restrained Friday in a chair. Now Mamoru had an uneasy feeling. He had asked her to bring the girl but considering Hermes' ... air Mamotu never thought about what he wanted, until now.

Mamoru watched as the crystal appeared before him and Hermes ... did something to it. Taking care of the threat if he hadn't done the job probably. That felt like a relief to him until he noticed the magic barrier and energy around them. Something was happening, well about to happen. This was what he needed the girl for? But ... what was he doing? Mamoru looked at the small opening in the barrier that surrounded him, just his size to leave. Obviously the smart thing to do would probably be get the hell out of there now and just forget it all but ... in the back of his mind Mamoru had a really bad feeling and an even smaller part .. felt some guilt already. Mamoru looked to the gap and to the others present. "What are you gonna do?" Mamoru asked cautiously. I'm not concerned about her ... I don't care about her ... I just want to know what's happening. Mamoru assured himself. Mamoru's gaze dashed between Hermes and the opening. 1 minute ... Time had already been ticking ... what was he going to do? At the rate he was moving he wasn't going to make it.

Knives almost seemed delighted by Mamoru's fright really. Hermes seemed intrigued by the question, then grinned. "I couldn't tell you. But if you insist on staying. You'll find out." he said. "Split decisions in life will make or break you, boy. You'll find that out someday." He said as he waved his hand. The gap for Mamoru left. Even if it was a few seconds short of what he said he'd give him to decide. He hesitated. He was staying now. The energy in the area cut off from the outside of the barrier. It sort of gave the area within a heavier feeling.

Hermes walked over to Knives, who was doing something. Tying Friday by her wrists so they were behind the chair behind her back. Hermes took Knives's place behind the chair and put his hands on Friday's shoulders, leaning forward some to do so as he stared at Mamoru. "Haven't you ever noticed anything...very strange about her the few times you were sharing an area with her? or carrying her here? Anything incredibly out of the ordinary? You have no idea, what you helped me trap here, do you?" He asked smoothly.

Friday struggled against her binds. Something about the heavy energy in here was making her slightly light-headed. it made it difficult for her to use her stone too, which usually automatically kicked onto defense when Friday was in danger. So she was stuck, being unable to call Abel, or defend herself with her lightning powers. The black stone sparked a little bit though, her red eyes growing a bit darker as she grew more nervous with the situation. She was like a captured animal.

User ImageHermes let Friday's shoulders go and smirked. "She...is a dragon, stuck in a human disguise while she's here. Not only is she a dragon, she is a demi-god, not a born one but one of the few special ones, chosen by the gods to perform a singular duty appointed to her. Her name is Tempus, which translates into time. Fitting name to be given. She's the 'Keeper of Time,' Custodis of Vicis." Hermes said, his latin almost sounding natural coming from him. How old was this guy? Friday looked confused. She didn't understand just why Hermes knew so much about what she was. "The job's simple, in context. She's able to travel from timeline to timeline, even alternate times of parallel worlds. She watches over the events of each timeline and world, making sure that set events happen as they should, and when something steps in to interrupt the flow of time, she is to stop it, and keep the stability of time itself safe. Like I said. In context it sounds easy. But I imagine the job is incredibly taxing, and hard."

Hermes sighed, his purple hair fading to a fiery red as his eyes did as well. His clothing changed as well, the bandages disappearing out of existence it seemed underneath his clothes, which also changed their appearance. Glowing tattoos were revealed to be all over his body, a strange energy coming off of them. Stranger still the demon tail he had, as well as his pointed ears, fangs, and black wings that folded tight against his back. "But you see...I also hide who I really am while I'm here. Nobody knows who I am. Or what I am. Or what I can do. It's amazing what a severe lack of knowledge, or source of knowledge on something, can do to help a man's disguise." He said, chuckling.

"My intentions are simple. But I don't need to tell you. After all, this really has nothing to do with you, other than what kind of imprints are left on your mind once you see what you've brought this hidden gem into. Because after all, I probably wouldn't have been able to get to her myself without annoying obstacles, if it weren't for you."

A faint red glow began to surround Friday. She grimaced, struggling once again. The tattoos were glowing too. There was a process starting. Hermes's energy was beginning to corrupt Friday's, since they clashed, not agreeing with each other one bit. Friday tensed, straining to get out of the binds on her wrists as an uneasy feeling in her stomach built into a painful sensation all along her skin. It felt like a light burn on every inch of her body, but the pain within her body was growing much worse. Shaking her head, the scale stone hanging off her neck began to spark against the intrusion into Friday's powers as Hermes's tattoos began reacting. The originally black tattoos began to gain color. There was some faint red in the intricate runes and patterns, the tattoos around his neck and arms gaining a new silverish color. The silver seemed to be creeping into the red and black. He was attempting to play thief, and take her powers. Or at least most of her energy. It was easier in her bound human form she was forced to take. Why was she growing weaker in this body? Because he made sure she would when she arrived. She had less defenses for herself. And even though she regained most of her powers with her uncovered memories, she still couldn't remember everything. Which meant she lacked her most important traits. Her powers to defend herself, to regenerate herself...she was still mortal, barely. Friday looked down for a moment, then lifted her head and shouted, hurting. The black stone flashed, halting Hermes's attempts as Friday's own magic pulsed against the sapping power around her. Mamoru himself might feel all the energy within the barrier, a slightly strange feeling to just be near.

User ImageUser Image
"That's enough!" Came a male voice. A white aura poured from the black around her stone, and out came her summoned protection. Akito and Kira Kyon. Curator, when fused together. But the dragon demon siblings were at the moment themselves. Kira hissed, disgusted it seemed at the very sight of Hermes. "How dare you challenge Tempus! You're a fool for even thinking you could harness such a being!" She shouted. Hermes just laughed, shaking his head. That didn't help. "Damn...damn you!" Both of them charged Hermes, in a swift blink of an eye both smaller breed dragons whipping their bodies at the demonic man, Kira's tail knocking over a bookshelf that was within the large barrier.

Hermes laughed once, amused they would dare approach him. "Oh yeah? It's too bad you couldn't release yourselves before I already took some of your precious beast's power!" Hermes said, laughing as he let them strike him. Hermes's back struck his own barrier, the barrier fluxing a bit but not giving way. Instead, it faded to a gray color, as Hermes grabbed Akito by his scaled neck and pushed his head into the barrier. There was a cry of rage and pain as a red fierce electricity coated Akito's dragon body, jolting into his body mercilessly. Kira growled. Hermes harness of Friday's energy had corrupted it, almost turned it into an opposite feel of it. In turn, it also made Hermes stronger. "Come at me, if you think you want to try, Curator." Hermes said, calling them both by their shared dragon name.

Friday's stone flashed, lightning sizzling at the ropes around her wrists. She pulled out of the ropes and fell out of her chair, before getting up again. She looked at Hermes and the siblings, as if she wanted to help them. Her hands began to shift into dragon's claws as she tried to change form. But the barrier above her struck down, Hermes's red corrupted energy homing in on Friday's, and striking her. Friday grimaced, attempting to take the strike, but her transformation was halted as she reverted back to her human body. Knives, who was still present, laughed as she kicked at Friday's side, knocking the surprised girl over.

User ImageAkito freed himself, hissing as he nodded to his sister. The two glowed white, before joining together in a white mist, forming into the shape of a large white dragon, red fire on its tail as it cried out in rage at Hermes. Curator's actual form, Tempus's fellow dragon and guardian. Not even waiting until its cry was finished, Curator struck at Hermes chest, trying to crush him into his own barrier. But Hermes blasted the claw away from him, and pointed his palm at the white dragon. The shield blast at Curator, blowing the large dragon back.

Curator very nearly was knocked into Mamoru. However, a black energy surrounded Mamoru, coating his outline lightly. Even he would notice if he looked at himself. When Curator came close, an energy extending off the glow around Mamoru halted teh dragon's flight at him, seeming to push back so Curator didn't hit the cat demon. Friday grimaced, looking at Mamoru. It was all she was capable of doing right now, keeping the bystander from getting injured in the barrier he could no longer escape. Because Hermes wouldn't care about collateral damage at all.

When Curator once again charged for Hermes, he scoffed. "This fight...is pointless. And a waste of time, might I say. I'm not nearly as interested in you as I am your master, but...if you insist." Hermes said, waiting until Curator was inches from him before the red energy sparked off the barrier once again, trapping the dragon in its painful grasp. "I'll make sure your death is...very painful. And not too brief." Hermes said quietly, sinisterly as he held up his hand. Curator cried out, the energy continuously draining it as well as injuring it as Hermes's tattoos around his legs began gaining a more white color, Curator's corrupted energy. The dragon seemed to flail its tail into the ground, crushing the floor under it some in reflex as the energy dug its claws underneath Curator's flesh, into the body.

No more of this...This was no way for Curator to lose its life. Friday's aura remained around Mamoru just in case, which was also helping keep the heavy and strange feeling of the energy away from him. Her eyes took on its dark red dragon's eyes look as she looked at Curator and Hermes. She grabbed the stone, grasping it tightly as she whined some in pain. It hurt too much to throw out this much, but she had to. The small area surrounding Hermes and Curator seemed to fade gray a little bit. Friday narrowed her eyes, energy sparking from her in a large sudden wave. Time around Hermes and Curator seemed to stop for a few seconds, only those two. Knives too, who was trying to get to Friday again. A black portal appeared underneath Curator, before time blinked to normalcy again. Hermes stopped, confused as the time portal began to react, sucking Curator in. The already dying dragon gave Friday one last look of apology it seemed, before it fell through the portal, and it flashed shut.

Hermes huffed, sneering as he walked over to Friday and grabbed the girl by the back of her sweater. He forced her onto her feet, then grabbed a handful of the front of her clothes, before turning and slamming her back against the wall of his barrier, some of the red energy automatically lashing at her some. They were small sparks, but still causing Friday pain as she grabbed his wrists, trying to get out of his grasp.
"Tell me, should I just go ahead and take the rest of the power you shouldn't have anyway, while we're here?" Hermes growled, his energy once again surrounding the girl. No. Friday shut her eyes, giving one last effort to protect herself. Curator was already dead. She sent the dragon someplace safe, but there was nothing that would reverse the creature's last breaths. She couldn't let him win here, and let the sacrifice be in vain.

"Effrego!" The latin word for 'break' came screaming out her mouth surprisingly loud and clear for looking like someone who couldn't sound like that. The stone made a shattering noise, though it didn't shatter. No, the energy inside of it did. There was a massive blast of wind against the floor that was powerful enough to even shatter the barrier, as it cracked, and shattered from the bottom up, releasing the energy from inside as Knives was blasted back into a bookshelf by the energy. Hermes was knocked away as well, into the air, before his black wings snapped out and he caught the top of a bookshelf, stopping himself mid-flight. Friday hit the floor, immediately collapsing face down as she tried in near vain to catch her breath, the massive loss of energy at once having a bad impact on just her frail human body. Hermes frowned. He got a little bit of what he wanted at least. And Curator's life was a bonus. He'd have to finished this another time.

[Hermes and Knives Flee]
PostPosted: Thu Mar 01, 2012 2:39 am

Mamoru had no idea what Hermes was referring to talk about Friday like that, he never bothered to pay attention to her and carrying her here his mind was filled with something else. He was stuck here though, he missed his chance to leave so now whatever was going to happen he was going to see. As Hermes spoke aloud and Mamoru watched Friday he was getting a worse and worse feeling in his gut. Just what exactly did he end up being a part of?

A ... dragon? Demi god? Timeline traveling? W-What? This is sounding beyond real ... Mamoru thought to himself as Hermes continued more and more talking to him, but probably also just setting the mood to Friday. Hermes' final words to him seemed to echo in his head a little. If it weren't for Mamoru ... what was about to happen wouldn't have happened. Well it might have eventually but not this soon at least.

Needless to say the following events had Mamoru speechless. Hermes was doing something to the girl, obviously it was the reason for the large barrier around them. There was an immense feeling of power radiating as hermes was doing whatever he was doing. He was ... taking something from her or something, rather painfully it seemed. Before he could really understand then out of no where 2 twins showed up, dragons as well and began fighting with Hermes. All the while all Mamoru could do was just watch. The feeling from what had been going on was so strong not to mention Mamoru wasn't even sure what to do.

The two twins combined into one even larger dragon and yet was still defeated by Hermes. Mamoru raised his arms in a pathetic attempt to defend himself as Curator came flying at him. He noticed her felt no collision and instead noticed a dark energy surrounding him. He look at Friday, it was her doing it? She was protecting him? Even though he was the cause of this in a way?

Mamoru snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the cries from Curator, as he was being killed by Hermes. He was able to take out that dragon, just ... what was he? In a flash of an instant to Mamoru he saw the dragon descending into a portal or something and leaving the scene or who knows where. With the dragon gone and Friday still in a weak condition Hermes turned his attention back to Friday and almost got rid of her here and there. Mamoru's eyes widened as he watched. He actually wanted to step in, to do something but his body wasn't moving.

With one final burst of magic the barrier around them shattered as Hermes and Knives were flung back and retreated. He'd apparently gotten something out of all this, part of what he planned for. All that remained was a shocked and conflicted Mamoru and an overly exhausted Friday. Mamoru's body finally responded to commands and he approached Friday, slowly and cautiously. He knelt beside and adjusted her so she was sitting as he held her up. " I-I didn't ... I didn't know ..." Mamoru spoke softly. He was torn a bit. He was the the keep to himself, cold uncaring person he was because of what had happened to him in the past. With the events that he just witnessed and his own involvement in it he was just confused. He normally didn't care and now he felt guilt, especially having the girl still here, hurt and that dragon what might be dead.

The aftermath left the area of the first floor in a bit of a mess, that was for sure. Friday's eyes blinked barely open, looking at Mamoru as he spoke after helping her sit up. Her head shook side to side a little bit, very little. "I know." She said in a quiet voice. If he had really been at blame Friday wouldn't have bothered to try and keep the fight from hurting the boy, but he had no idea what he was walking into. She didn't even know herself. He was merely someone that demon man pulled into his game like a pawn. She had the worst feeling that she just found the one responsible for her being here with her memories scattered too...the stone glowed faintly, then cut off, settling down. Friday grimaced. Not only had her cut-off transformation injured her from within, but she could barely move herself.

The glow from the stone had done one last thing. There were hurried footsteps as the were-form of Abel jumped into view over Mamoru's head, skidding to a stop across from them. Practically blind to Mamoru, he saw his master's condition and hurried to her, a small whine escaping his throat. Abel growled at Mamoru, his bared fangs showing something dangerous in his threatening growl. "Did you do this? Who did this!?" He said harshly, asking his confused questions. "Abel." Friday shook her head, before wincing again and shutting up. He huffed, then backed off Mamoru. leaving the boy be. "Master's beyond weak. Her body was already flawed to begin with when we got here, it's not meant to handle this stress or the amount of power she must've lost or used." Abel said, not talking really to Mamoru, merely assessing her condition out loud. He cut a small cut into his palm with his dagger before wrapping his hand around the black cold stone, gripping it for about a half a minute before letting go. The slight red on the stone faded like it had been absorbed, Friday still watching them both unable to do much else other than that. "It'll help start the regeneration process, at least enough to get her on her feet, with my help...but I don't know if it'll really work or not. It'll take time to see." He could beat himself for not realizing that his master was in danger like this.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 01, 2012 6:56 pm

Mamoru eyes drifted lower, not wanting to really look at Friday at the moment. He really did feel responsible, and rightfully so. If he hadn't agreed to help Hermes this might not have happened. Mamoru's ears flicked under his hat as he started to turn to the sound, a bit worried it was Hermes or one of his guards. With the figure jumping over him and facing him he was surprised to see some kind of wolf creature. He was apparently connected to Friday, judging by his shock at seeing her condition and immediate aggressive attitude at Mamoru. Luckily Friday calmed the creature before he had a chance to slice of Mamoru's head.

Mamoru merely remained silent, listening as Abel spoke, mostly to himself aloud opposed to Mamoru. He watched as Abel did something to the stone, helping her healing apparently as he explained, though he was unsure. One could only hope it would help her condition. "We should ... get her out of here ..." Mamoru spoke softly, not giving his usual attitude or even having his usual mindset. Needless to say the events that had passed had an effect on him. "I'll help move her ..." It wasn't much, but Mamoru was trying to help. The least he could do was get her somewhere for her to recover.

Friday seemed to drift out of consciousness, which made Abel uneasy, but he nodded with what Mamoru said. "Human doctors can't help her, and only unnecessary questions and tests will arise out of bringing her to one." He said, making it clear they couldn't simply being her to rest in the nurse's office. "She needs her own space to rest in, where I can watch her as well." He thought about it, before carefully taking Friday, picking her up with ease from the floor before standing up. "You ought to go ahead with your day..." He said quietly, before glancing at him. Abel's harshened eyes stared at him for a moment. "I find myself...upset over her condition. But I can see you had no true intention for any of whatever happened to happen." He said, looking at Friday again. "Regardless of what happened before I got here, thank you for showing concern. I'm most likely...going to settle her into a lower part of the library, I hear there's a dragon in the lower floors, and I may be able to reason for its protection." His tail flickered, oddly pierced ears lifting a bit. "That man...I suggest you be careful. If he let you stand through everything that must have just happened, it means he may not be intending to merely let you off without further danger. Even if his words were promising, whatever promise of safety or invisibility to the situation he granted you? It was more than likely false promise."
PostPosted: Thu Mar 01, 2012 7:48 pm

Mamoru nodded silently, Abel was right. Taking her to the nurse's office or something wasn't going to do any good and just make things harder. Abel taking care of her was probably the only real course of action. Mamoru felt a bit of relief to hear that Abel understood the situation, but Mamoru still held the guilt of his actions. Mamoru turned his head to the side as he stood and hear Abel's warning. He had a point, Hermes had let him stand through it all even at the start made a bit of a show of it as he spoke to him. He had a bad feeling ... that wasn't the last time he'd see Hermes. "Right ..." Mamoru turned to leave as advised by Abel but stopped for a moment. "Tell her I'm sorry ..." Mamoru didn't turn to face Able as he spoke and continued on after he finished to leave the library. He'd already said it before and his words did nothing to fix what happened but he had nothing else to do. Mamoru climbed the stairs back up to the main floor and left to find someplace to just be alone for a while.

Abel's ears flickered as he watched the boy leave, before looking at Friday. He had to get her to a decently empty place. Lower into this place would be fine. He huffed a bit, before spreading out his wings when he looked to see no one was nearby, and he glided easily out of sight into the shadows, beginning his descent.

By the time the whole group arrived, and had already descended a floor, Ganra leapt off Masato's back, and took his original form in mid air before landing silently and effortlessly. "Take caution..." he uttered out in a low, hushed tone before seeming to take another single leap, practically gliding across the floor and going for quite a while before landing once again, now some ways away seeming to scout for traps and the like most wouldn't notice, despite years of training and ect. Ganra just had an eye for them, having been isolated he made all kinds for himself against intruders and prey when he lived alone in the wild.

Zetun simply remained in Ayame's pocket, apparently secretly enjoying the ride... But he was no bystander in this, no way.

"Best let him scout ahead... he might save us some hassle..."
