While B3 consisted of water, this floor is mostly in darkness, and although there are some lanterns around the floor, it is hard to see, even with flashlights. Some say that the dean went to this floor, and he used a special light, while muttering something to himself, and he was able to see. Perhaps he used a spell?

(Masato and Ayame enter from the Shopping District)
"Accendo," (Latin for: "Illuminate") Ayame commanded as a small luminous sphere flared to life and hovered serenely above her palm, its light piercing the darkness as they tread carefully between the towering shelves, taking special care not to trigger any traps which they had long been trained to detect. The Library Exploration Club, or LEC, which Gilly was part of, was actually helpful in getting them permission to go down to B4, though that was due mainly to Ayame being a "professor" who got clearance from the KMA after ridding Mahora of the Koga hunter-nin's who came after her and Masato not long ago. However, in exchange for permanent employment and residence, the their debt to Mahora was twofold. One was that they paid for the damage caused to the Downtown Apartment unit Ayame was using after they wasted the hunter-nin's with a block of semtex and the other was that they neutralized the threat from home. The latter would have to wait, but the as soon as they found the tome with the instructions on how to open the black box they got from the Koga sleeper agent they killed in Osaka, they'd have the money to fulfill the former.
Hours of searching through the dark soon yielded what they intended to find and both Masato and Ayame stood over 50 feet of the ground on top of the flying shadow carpet Masato summoned as Masato stood on Ayame's shoulders with his paws on her head. "It's rigged. Runic summoning trigger with wards against simple spells. We can't disarm it, so we have no choice but to pull the book out, stuff it in the bag, and deal with whatever comes out after that," Masato said before Ayame quickly and deftly pulled the book out of the shelf and three more books, as if their pages were wings, suddenly launched out of the neighboring shelves and opened up like rocket pods about to unleash their "contents." Several leaf-shaped kunai flew from Masato's mouth and paws at that moment, "clipping" and impaling the books before they could summon and launch whatever was drawn on their pages, which in this case, were blades and short steel crossbow bolts, which spilled out and fell into the darkness below instead of launching themselves like missiles at them. The "wounded" books fell like birds that had their wings broken and crashed on the library's floor, twitching and flailing with Masato's kunai still stuck in them before more launched out of the shelves behind them and Ayame deftly sliced the first one out of the air with Kureyuki as they came at them with razor-sharp pages flaring. The grim flutter of more of the killer tomes massing soon reached both of the Koga-jounin's ears and Ayame ordered Masato to get them out of there.
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Masato said as he put his paws down on the front of the shadow carpet and they flew off with dozens of killer tomes in angry pursuit. Some of the faster ones managed to catch up, but were sliced out of the air and sent hurtling like birds with their wings cut off or broken into the darkness by Ayame before a particularly big one the size of a kitchen cabinet flew up from the darkness in front of and below them and opened up, its massive pages rapidly tearing and twisting into the shape of an large abyssal wyrm's maw and forcing Masato to dive and barrel roll past them, throwing Ayame off for a second, but not sending her hurtling into the depths as she quickly caught the carpet's edge with her clenched fist. "Ayame, hold on!" Masato yelled as he had the carpet pick up speed and twist hard in mid-air, flipping Ayame back onboard onto what used to be the carpet's "underside" before a whole squadron of killer tomes caught up with them and started firing a flurry serrated steel bolts at them, most of them missing as Masato took evasive action and flew hard right while controlling the shadow carpet with his paws, but several of them tore at and ripped through the carpet, tearing mean gashes through it and causing Masato to quickly lose control.
"Brace yourself, we're going in hard!" Masato yelled as they made a steep dive towards the stairwell and platform near the B4 entrance. Masato cringed as the marble floor rushed to meet them, but Ayame swiftly grabbed him off the carpet, jumped off, and rolled hard on the tiles instead of crashing into the floor, causing Masato to catapult and roll out of her grasp upon impact; looking like a furry white mass used to polish the marble floor as he did so. The carpet crashed, skidded, and automatically rolled itself up near the corner while Masato and Ayame groaned and took a few seconds to come to. That was when they heard what was now a furious buzz of killer tomes massing in the dark reaches behind them and Masato and Ayame swiftly got up with Masato snatching Ayame's satchel with the book inside off the floor with his mouth while Ayame scooped him and the satchel in her arms and rushed towards the entrance. Masato whistled with his paw in his mouth as Ayame did so and the shadow carpet unfurled itself and flew out the door with them, right before Ayame slammed the magically-sealed door shut and they took off towards the surface as fast as they can.
They'd seen and dealt with a lot of dangerous traps in the past, but summoning traps were rare compared to others and that one was far deadlier and on a grander scale than any they'd encountered before. "Oh thank God, we're almost there..." Masato panted and huffed as he ran next to Ayame and they reached the B3 floor. One step closer to the surface and it wouldn't take long for them to get their either as they had already had their route mapped out inside their heads.

"Idiot..." Ganra cursed under his breath, actually speaking for once again. He should have known better than to join William, despite his offer and suggestions. His only task nearly got him eaten by some kind of symbiotic demon slime. Forget this... he already had Konoka, and Dark Ian finished the transfer of mana into the Exmortis... he was done. Best to just wait for now...
He wandered the area, bounding weightlessly around from spot to spot, taking looks at a book or two as well. But it was afer a few hours later did he gain enough curiosity to take a look up top, if the situation died down...
