Medic Tent
Not much more than a thrown together shelter to keep the wounded out of the elements. Due to the fact that there aren't many doctors living in camp, it is very shorthanded, making this area of camp a very ominous place. There is not much that can be done for most of the people brought here, as supplies are sparse and many of the people working here were little more than cafe baristas.

Nick shifted slightly in her chair. Good thing not too many people get hurt here, she thought, it's so different from the city... She glanced over at her pitiful supply of medicine and sighed. Leaning back carefully, she began to sharpen her daggers. It would hopefully be another long, uneventful day. her thoughts kept wandering back to the walkers. Was there any way to contain them? possibly cure them? Glancing yet again at her crappy supplies, she sighed. "Not with this stuff I won't." She shrugged, and leaned forward so that her chair fell to the ground with a loud BANG. She jumped slightly, and looked around. "This place needs a serious redecoration. Maybe actual cots, sterile equipment..." Just then, Rune ran in talking about how she and Coop were heading into the City, did she need anything? Thinking quickly she answered, "Yes, some gauze, rubbing alcohol, splints, and maybe some flu vaccs if you can find it?" Rune nodded, and ran back out. Nick smiled to herself. This day was beginning to look up, at least slightly. With a sigh, she got up and walked to the Commons. ~Exit Nick to Commons~

Nick ran back inside her safe haven, the Medic Tent. She sat there, and once again began to wait, just for anyone to come in. She didn't care who, just so long as she could help them.

The only sound in Eleanor's head was a insane pounding. She guessed it was all the blood rushing to her head, causing her face to turn red, but it didn't bother her. As Eleanor stumbled about, she didn't care if she couldn't see, if she couldn't hear. She didn't care that she couldn't even open her mouth and screamHe's dead. He's dead. Dad is dead. He's a zombie.. All he wants to do is rip my heart out. He's dead. He's dead. Eleanor kept thinking to herself. She didn't realize the words where actually spilling out of her mouth until she collapsed on the ground. She opened her eyes and looked around blindly. Was she in some sort of tent? Ellie didn't know. All she knew is she had to survive, had to protect herself, for her father. Suddenly, Ellie felt her breathing pick up. She was in a tent? How did she get here? She scrambled up to her feet, only to drop back down on her knees, grabbing her leg. Her face was torn up from flying through the woods, and she was pretty sure she had a twisted ankle. In her hand was a steak knife she had wretched from the drawer of a house, and it was currently pressed against her thigh, without Ellie even noticing. "He's dead, he's dead." She whispered, looking up at the woman in the tent. She couldn't see properly. Was she a zombie? Oh,god no! Ellie held up the steak knife defensively, but it was no use. She couldn't see, she couldn't hear. She was going insane. (Wow, really horrible first post. And it seems all over the place.. But it's for the effect! Lol, kay, that's bullspit. I just didn't know how to make her seem half crazy)

Nick frowned. She knew she heard something outside of her tent. She shrugged and stepped out. Spotting the girl, she gasped and carried her inside, laying her down on the makeshift cot. "Miss? Miss? What happened?" Nick was worried. She knew post traumatic injuries were common here. She checked the girl anxiously for bite marks and found none.

Ellie's eyes zeroed in on the girl infront of her, and she reached forward, and with both hands, she grabbed her forearm. She dragged herself up so she was sitting up and almost eye level with the girl. Her steak knife had dropped to the floor, not that it would be of any help to her now. "Who are you? Where's my dad?" Eleanor stopped her voice from cracking, and forced herself to not cry, though the tears were filling her eyes.
Ellie answered her own question immediately, her hands clenched the girls forearm even tighter. "He's dead. They killed him. Her voice was much louder than the whispers she had been producing before. Now they were almost screams.

Nick looked alarmed. She hugged the girl and murmured condolences. "The virus got him then, there's nothing I can do. Have you been injured?" She checked the girls wounds and noted that they weren't that bad. Mainly bruises, cuts, scrapes and such. She quickly began to clean them, ignoring the girls tears and screams. Then she said harshly, "Shut up. If the Walkers hear you, we're finished."

Ellie quickly shut her mouth, her eyes darting toward the opening of the tent. Of course there was nothing she could do about her dad. There was nothing she could have done to help him when he was attacked either, but that was just it. She was a weak little girl, but Ellie decided no more. She wasn't going to be weak now. She was old enough to protect herself. "My ankle. I think I twisted it. But I will walk on it. What doesn't kill you makes your stronger." She mumbled, repeating what her dad had used to always say. Ellie tried to jump off the cot, only to stumble onto her good foot. Her left ankle w=couldn't handle her weight, but Eleanor kept her mouth shut as her eyes watered with pain. "Where am I? Who are you?" She asked suddenly.

Nick picked the child up, and sat her down on the cot. "Stay still," she said sternly. She began to wrap the girl's ankle. "I am Nick Carpathia. You are in the Main Camp. Specifically, the Medic Tent." She finished wrapping it, and made sure it was set right so that it would heal correctly.

Eleanor let her foot be wrapped. She stared at the woman named Nick, biting her cheek to keep the tears and screams from coming back. "The Main Camp.. Medic Tent.. Are there other's?" Ellie asked, her voice had a tone of awe in it. She hadn't seen any other people for weeks. It had just been her dad, and even though she had hope, she never thought she would have enough luck to stumble upon the camp, especially in her condition. Ellie ran a hand through her blonde hair. It was almost so blonde it seemed white. Her teal eyes seemed glazed over as she stared off into the distance. She had been so close to the camp.. If she had been strong enough to save her dad, they could have found it together.. But he was gone now. No.. stop thinking about it. Ellie told herself. "My name is.. Eleanor." She didn't say she preferred to be called Ellie. She wanted to seem as old as possible in front of this woman. She didn't want to seem like a child, or else she might seem like a burden, and she might be cast from the camp.

Nick smiled. "yes there are others, Eleanor. Would you prefer to be called El? Ellie? It seems to be more informal that way." She grinned. "Don't worry child," Nick said gently, with no malice in her voice. "you will never be forced from this haven." Nick knew she was worried, she could see it in the girls eyes. "Anyone who tries to force you to leave will be executed."

Ellie narrowed her eyes at the woman. It had been almost like she had read her mind. With a shiver, she sighed and focused her eyes on the tent wall behind Nick. "Yes.. Some call me Ellie. And I'm not a child." She grumbled the last part, even if Nick was trying to be nice to her. Ellie just wasn't good with manners. But who needed manners in a zombie apocalypse? But as soon as Nick mentioned not being exiled, a calm smile spread across her face. Good. She wouldn't last a minute on her own anyways. "Are you a real doctor?" Ellie asked.

Nick nodded slightly. "Well, Ellie, I am older than you. Forgive me for calling you a child all the same." Nick's sudden smile transformed her face, making her beautiful. "yes, I am. I'm a Military doctor. Specifically a Navy Doctor."

Ellie tapped a finger against her chin, standing up to test her leg. It still hurt, but if she limped, she could walk on it now that it was bandaged. Ellie bent down and grabbed the steak knife she had dropped on the ground, and turned it back and forth in her hands. She frowned at it. Had she really thought this would help her? She had amazing aim with throwing knives, as she had found out when her dad made her try it, but a steak knife would not kill a zombie. "So, you can fight. Zombies, I mean. Because I can't, and I need to learn.. And a steak knife is not the best weapon." Her voice seemed rather cold a distant. But what could you expect from someone who just lost their dad?

Nick watched her carefully, for signs of the fever and out of concern for her injuries. She knew what a bad ankle could do. "Yes," she answered, "I can fight. But until you are well I refuse to teach you. You need to heal, Ellie." Nick's chocolate eyes stare deep into Ellie's, knowingly and wisely.
