Well that sucks. I do all different styles. I can do caligraphy and graffiti types, I also can do the really curlicue script lettering. I'd like to take a look at those books. The curlicue lettering is really popular in my cousins tattoo shop, so that is the one I'm most practiced in.
This is the more helpful book of the couple that I acquired:

....And I can't believe those used prices on Amazon! My book is so overstressed that I could never imagine it being worth over a grand. =O_O=
Anyhoo, it's mostly tips and then it has a vast list of all the available font types at that time, with alphabets, etc. It's great to practice from.
But, an easy way to mimic that would be to just get a bunch of popular free fonts from places like fontdiner.com and print out the alphabets to practice from.
