The number one movie was the children's movie "Puss in Boots" with $34,077,439. It broke Saw III's record ($33.6 million) for the highest Halloween opening weekend.
There were two other debuts in the top ten. The Sci-fi "In Time", starring Justin Timberlake appeared in the number 3 slot with $12,050,368. The new Johnny Depp movie based on the Hunter S Thompson book "The Run Diary" went the number 5 with $5,135,369.
There was a noticable debut outside the top ten list. "Anonymous" debut at number 12 with $1,021,768.
