Name: Haru Haruka
Age: 18
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 140lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Bright Silver
Reiatsu Color: Crimson
Personality: Haru, when first noticed, seems to have a blank look on his face at all time. This means, eyes half open, not seeming to focus on any one thing, and his mouth shut, not a smile or a frown, but something inbetween. However, this is far from what Haru actually is. Due to his training in martial arts through the years at the academy, Haru gives off an aura of solemness, at least when he is by himself. With anyone he meets, he will act respectful at first, learning to know them before he truly lets himself open to the person. Afterwards, it seems as if Haru is a completely different person. He likes to be joking with everyone once he gets to know them, and is quite open with anything, answer any questions about himself and wanting to genuinely get to know people. You could call him slightly naive, but he isn't, not in the least. He's been hurt more than once, and he knows that it will happen again. If he thinks that someone doesn't like him, or if one of the people he thought he liked is about to 'betray' him, he will act cold and sometimes outwardly mean to them. It might be because of his temper, or just the fact that he doesn't like getting hurt. Ah, now the anger. While Haru has a long fuse, it also means that when he does get angry, he explodes. This can be done if he is facing someone that threatens himself or those he cares about, the rules he so strictly believes in, or just someone that pushes him too far. This, unfortunately, can be done quite easily when alcohol is involved. Haru is a slightly more....expressive person when drunk. Get him as such and you'll see for yourself...
Accessories: Black sunglasses, as well as a small crimson scroll given to him by his father, filled with techniques that Asuma himself created.
Appearance: While somewhat lean, Haru tends to be more toned than actually muscular, unlike his father. However, he is physically like his father in the fact that most of his ability is made from speed. After training with his father for quite some time, Haru was put through rigorous speed exercises, meant to build up his reaction time as well as dodging ability. Through this, his legs were quickly defined, and to this day he still practices these same drills. Haru inherited his father's bright silver hair, though Haru likes to keep it around seven inches long, leaving it to be slightly messy, though like his father his hair is always straight, and comes to spike at the tips. Down his right eye is a tattoo, in remembrance of his father, a lone black line with two lines going through it about 5mm up from where the line ends below his eye. His face seems to be slightly gaunt, though his features are just slightly more pronounced, like his cheekbones. His eyes are a bright green, with a piercing look that seems to look right through a person. His neck is slightly thin, though where his neck meets his shoulders is slightly toned. His shoulders are slightly broad, with long arms with a reach of about 36 inches, his arms toned. His chest and abdomen are toned as well, though not very pronounced, giving him a more thin look than anything. His legs are hidden beneath his hakama bottoms, though they are very built and solid, but at the same time very flexible.
On Duty: The normal Shihakshuo of the Shinigami
Zanpaktou
Sealed: Haru's zanpaktou, Tsukuyomi, takes the form of two daggers, each with blades six inches long, and handles another four inches. Each is held in a leather sheath attached to the inside of Haru's forearms, underneath his hakama, concealed. Since he rarely likes to use them, Haru thought it would be better for them not to be seen.
Shikai
Release Phrase: Clash
Name: Taikobutai
Translation: Opposing Forces
Appearance: When released, Haru slams his two knives together hilt to hilt, and they seem to meld and lengthen until it reaches six feet in length, taking the form of a metal Bo-staff. While the staff seems like it would be heavy and unwieldy, it is actually very light and is able to bend. With the form of the shikai, however, it hides the true power of the zanpaktou. While facing opponents who use reiatsu and reshi based techniques, Haru is able to disperse or nullify them. Only, the process of doing so is quite...dangerous. First, Haru must see the attack, or experience it. From there, he then must understand how the technique is preformed; how much reiatsu it takes, how it is moved, where is the technique starred, et cetra. From there, Haru must then find a way to displace the attack by the use of his own reiatsu. Once he knows the technique and how it works, however, it is quite simple to disperse it by using his own reiatsu to break apart the compression or the formation of the attack.
History: Haru had barely known his father, only seeing him when Asuma was able to leave Seireitei and come to Rukongai to visit Haru and his mother. While he was there, Asuma showed Haru how to defend himself, feeling the spiritual power that his son possessed. From this, Haru started to get an affinity for Hand-to-hand combat, as well as using things such as daggers and sometimes even swords, which his father seemed to like so much. As he quickly grew up, he saw less and less of his father, sometimes even not seeing him at all for years at a time. When this would happen, Haru would train by himself, or take any job he could around the area in which he lived to help feed and protect his family. For a few years he acted as a messenger for a few people, carrying things back and forth from one place to another, many times not even knowing what he was carrying. Because of this, he was sometimes attacked, and from it, learned how to fend for himself. While he wasn't the best, the things his father had taught him had come in handy. in the meantime of his jobs and growing up, Haru heard of the many things his father did, the good and the bad. How he had betrayed Seireitei and gone to Hueco Mundo to help the Hollow, for what reason not even Haru could think of. And just like that, his father was back in Seireitei, like nothing had happened. Honestly, the man sickened him. How someone could live only for themself at the cost of those around him Haru couldn't imagine. In response to this, Haru decided to try and be someone who protected those around him, becoming the very thing he had lacked in his own life. However, Haru still respected his father, as well as his immense power, and wanted to at least resemble him in that aspect. With that in mind, Haru had finally set out to become a Soul Reaper, leaving his mother in their estate in rukongai with a few of his "siblings", adopted children who Haru had befriended long ago. Like his father, Haru quickly passed through the Shinigami Academy, however, excelling in Hakuda and swordplay with small daggers or shortswords rather than at blades and reiatsu control. throughout the years at the academy, he took every chance he could get to study his technique in his hand to hand fighting. Adopting the attitude of what he believed to be a 'warrior', Haru would spend his days quietly practicing, always silent and respectful to those he trained with. In the academy he met a former teacher of karate, who took him under his wing to train. Learning a few basic moves from the man, the real thing Haru learned was self control, and respect. His years throughout the academy he spent learning the very foundation of Seireitei; it's laws, customs, and other aspects that had been clad in iron for centuries. His ideals centered around the fact that those rules were meant to protect the people who were subject to those laws. Well, at least, most of them. His ideals led towards one that meant to protect, but not oppress. This lead to quite a few debates with some of his teachers, sometimes ending with him in a detention cell for almost getting violent. For that very fact, he swore that he would only do what was necessary to help and protect those around him. And by that time, his time in the Academy was almost over. Near completion, though, Haru was told of his father's death. Now, he had no one to try to overcome, no one to pass up to become his own person. He would be forever known as that man's son, and not as himself. So be it. He would surpass the old man, do things Asuma would have never been able to do. Then he would be his own person, and not just some man's son. He would do it, even if it took him centuries.
