Here are 3 hat patterns that are SUPER easy and look great when finished!
*In Bloom Beret and Cap
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/in-bloom-beret-and-cap#This is really 2 patterns with slight differences to make either a beret style or a cap style. I made both (pics in Dec '11 Needle Craft Projects) and they were quick and very easy.
Funky Flower Hat
http://crochetme.com/patterns/funky-flower-hatThis pattern was also very quick and easy. It looks similar to the previous cap pattern (and you could probably use the previous cap pattern and put ear flaps on it.) My attempt at it (which can also be seen in the Dec '11 Projects) used a somewhat larger gauge. I did the ear flaps differently so that they decreased only 1 puff/row and when I got to 1 I ended there instead of making them long. I added a button to 1 side and it made a very cute buttoned cap.
