I am so glad the yarn season is here! I managed to whip out a few projects and finish up one I started last month finally. Hopefully the links below work. I knitted this scarf for my 7 year old nephew. 1 skein each of dark blue and white light weight Sport DK. This little one I whipped out with a little more then half of a Red heart Shimmer skein I had after I did some wrist warmers. I took the stitch out of the happy hooker book. It's a simple chain 5, single crochet into chain, etc. I had a lot of fun doing this one, and was able to whip this out in less then a day! This next set I did for my little niece. I've been wanting to dabble with making hats and finally braved it. The orange and red really caught my eye and I think capture the fall/harvest time with the beginnings of winter and Christmas.

It's the same orange, might have just been the flash. It's the orange I used to make Kelli's tweedy scarf last year, not sure if you saw it. I'm making these as just because pressies for my nephew and niece since I have not seen them in ages and I miss them terribly.

I am feeling so overly creative that it's being counterproductive this month. UG! Started and frogged more projects than I can count on one hand because I keep getting distracted. Then I actually made all kinds of fun stuff to yarn bomb my school but since I haven't had a car at my disposal I have missed opportunities to actually do it. Does anyone else ever go through these counterproductive phases? And this is definitely not the time since I need to get a jump start on gifts-making.

Aaah, just got this reply (quoting is my friend wink ) I did see the tweedy scarf last year... for some reason I thought it was corrugated..?

I frogged my nephew's hat so many times because I wasn't happy with it. My november project is a blanket. I got that shimmer wool ease and am working a stripped pattern: White, blue, white, purple, white, blue, white. I'm on the 2nd to last of the white and this thing is awesome! It's my winter lap blanket/shawl biggrin

Some gift ideas I have are: some hooded scarves, a beanie for my dad and thinking of making a throw blanket for his gf to go with their new house.

Woo! Finished a project this month!! I was going to try and make a hooded scarf as an Xmas pressie (though not sure who will inherit this one.) I was going to wing it from what I learned from the last one I made (I however did not like the pattern too much) and, about halfway through I found a recipe that looked simple on Lion Brand website. I didn't follow the instructions 100%, making the scarf longer and not adding a tassel, as well as adding a couple extra inches to the hood closer stitch. I'm debating adding a tassel still to weigh down the tip of the hood but I really don't know how I feel about opening up another skein just for that. Whelp, here is a link to my Ravelry that has the pattern as well as extra pics of my project: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/nekogeisha/one---two-ball-hooded-scarvesAnd here is a sample pic of the finished product:

Another small project down. My dad wanted me to make him a hat so I did. Used Lion Brand Jiffy in blue/white since he is a Colts fan. Here is a pic of the hat: And here is a link to my Ravelry project details: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/nekogeisha/boyfriends-hat-2The pattern I used is super easy and I really like the adjustability that the fold-up brim has to offer as well as the sideways ribbing.

It's great to see that there are young people knitting!! My basement flooded this past week so all my crafting is on hold for the time being. It was sad to have to throw out some of my yarn and yarn kits. I am also an avid scrapbooker and card maker.Hopefully I will be able to get back to the crafting soon. crying

I would probably flip out if my craft supplies got ruined. I have several 18 gal tubs as well as shelves of materials that I've accumulated and it would just break my heart. Was nothing salvageable?
