I do hope everyone had an enjoyable Halloween!
If you didn't....well its okay...squash your anger by talking about it >.<
I didn't do much but bake a pumpkin pie for my brother's Birthday (which is ON Halloween)
Took me so long....such a long process...
I wanted to buy an actual pumpkin but couldn't find one sadly...so I have to use a Kabocha (have no idea about this pumpkin shape food)
I have to cut it in half and scrape the insides to get all that netting and seeds out...That took way too long XD
Then pour water on the pan, place both halves on the pan, wrap the pan with a tin foil and let it warm up in the oven for 1 hour or till it gets soft...in 335 degrees (pretty much you can tell I'm trying to puree the inside of the Kabocha)
While it was in the oven, I make pie doe by scratch (everything I did on this is by scratch).
Finally when I put the doe in the fridge, my kabocha was already soft in the oven. I took it out and scraped the insides and put it in the bowl. Stir it with a blender and mixing it with 1 teaspoon of flour, teaspoon of nutmeg, brown sugar and white sugar, and sea salt.
Then I let it rest so the flavors can mix together (still waiting for the doe to finish)
Waited after 30min for the doe to settle, I took it out of the fridge, unwrapped it, flatten it with my rollin pin, then placed it on the pie pan (as the crust).
Pour the Kabocha on my pie crust and let it bake in my oven...
Finally...(don't know why im saying this)..Right after I put it in the oven, I pray with all my might that it tastes good....
My god it takes so long...this is my first pmpkin pie...and it turned out well....too bad i couldnt find more pie slices after i placed it on the table....
Dammit brother....
