The hunter was in control. After wreaking his force strike in the hangar, Thanatos's alter ego began his hunt for prey upon the rock. He sensed lifeforms on the planet, and as he got closer he noticed he was being himself tracked. By Kath hounds. As they circled Thanatos, the hunter let out a primal yell. To the kath hounds it declared not only challenge, but also a sense that he was not here for dominance of territory. He was here for food, and they were on the menu. As the hunter let out his yell, the kath hounds cringed, a tingle of fear. That was when Thanatos spun into action, running towards the nearest one and quickly lunged his head forward, biting down on the beast's neck, slicing its jugular. The Kath hound fell, dying. The other kath hounds rushed to defend their pack mate, but Thanatos thrust his hands out with his teeth still clenched on the Kath hounds neck and summoned an awesome diplay of sith lightning. Striking three additional kath hounds. At seeing this display the others fled. Thanatos began his fire, and commenced cooking his meal...

[continuation from Lightsaber Training Grounds]

Zeraxul mulled over the words that were spoken to him as he continued working on his ship. She did have a point...and he actually was closer to being done than he thought he was. After making another couple of quick adjustments, he would set his tools aside and don his shirt and cloak once more, placing his saber on his belt. It would be about this time that he sensed Thanatos' usage of the Force...not that it was really that hard to notice. It would easily have been almost like a beacon for everyone on the planet who was Force sensitive, at the very least. He then silently began heading for the door, figuring Janlu would be following him, or at least already headed in that direction. It wouldn't be long before they got outside at all...and Zeraxul wasn't sure what to expect from Thanatos when they found him.

So much stress in the air had Janlu in a deeply pensive state. Not all of it came from the same sorce, but only one was she seeking at present...and the more dangerously unpredictable. She quickly headed out in the direction she had seen Thanatos exit and followed the trace. She could hear the faint sounds of hounds in the distance. It didn't take much to know what was going on with all the information she had...they were close. Quickening her pace, she reached him just as he had begun to cook his meal. Stopping in her tracks, she waited a moment, taking in the scene before she spoke, "I hope you kept some for us," she teased lightly, hoping to test what mood Thanatos was in now.

As the hunter saw Janlu and Zeraxul come into the clearing that he had "made". He immediately jumped up roaring his anger at their audacity for entering his territory. Before he could do anything more however, Thanatos's consciousness flared, demanding and overpowering the use of his body. Saying out loud though meaning to the hunter, "THIS IS MY BODY, AND YOU ARE ONLY A VESSEL!" As the power struggle continued, his body began to move sporadically before finally as a shower of electric current enveloped his body. When the cocoon dissipated, Thanatos after stretching his neck and recalled what Janlu said to him.
Figuring that some reparations were needed to begin again, Thanatos did gesture towards the Kath hounds. "by all means, choose which one you want"

Janlu soon got her answer...maybe? It seemed Thanatos was still pretty far out of it with his outburst...until he finally answered her question...calmly. Though, his first words did confuse her...a lot... It was clear there was still much to learn and the only way to understand would be to dig deeply into the heart of the beast. Cautiously, she neared, taking part of a limb with a hesitant smile, "do you mind my asking..." she paused for a moment, looking at him with obvious concern, "what did you mean?" she asked about the angered statement he greeted them with.

Thanatos's body was really tired now, but the smell of food was a need he must fulfill. Turning back to the fire he began roasting the kath hound flesh. The meat making his mouth moisten. He did indeed ponder the question. His consciousness did not see what all the hunter did, however the roar raised some emotion to wake up Thanatos. He began explaining the hunter's thought process, "When territory is fought over and won, a beast will continue to fight over it. I believe that in the moment of your entrance the hunter thought that you were going to steal his kill." He did not elaborate further on who the hunter was.

Zeraxul watched and observed for the time being...it was strange, watching Thanatos change back to his more normal self from this primal state. It was as if he had an internal battle of sorts going on...though he wasn't sure what this meant. He was especially puzzled by the sudden friendly attitude. He shook his head slightly...not really his concern. It was strange, sure...but not really any reason for him to personally be trying to figure it out. He did actually move closer and sit across from Thanatos, waiting to see where this discussion would lead. He did not yet move to take any of the meat...not only was he not really that hungry right now, he wasn't sure that the meat itself was cooked as much as he preferred. As such, he'd wait for the time being....though he did ask a pair of questions.

"This hunter you speak of...what is it? And where did he originate from?"

Sensing that his serving of hound was cooked he began placing the next hound on the spit. As he bit into the meat, his stomach growled fiercely. The taste was like water to the thirsty. His ravenous appetite could no longer be ignored. After what seemed like a minute the meat of the Kath hound began disappearing, only bone was left as he finally satisfied his protesting hunger. Only then he addressed Zeraxul's next questions. His curiosity was back, and he usually only gave information when he was given information in turn. He said, "I'll tell you about my scars, if you tell me yours".
At that point Thanatos's eyes shone a different type of hunger, a hunger that makes all sith powerful. The hunt for knowledge.

Taking a bite, Janlu chewed slowly, listening closely. Her curious mind began formulating more questions, but before she could think which to ask first, Zeraxul had already started. With Thanatos's response, Janlu turned her gaze toward Zera for his answer. it seemed she had her work cut out for her, only needing to sit and listen as the others cleared up all her questions for her. Finally swallowing the bite, she continued watching Zeraxul in a quiet anticipation for his story.

Once more, his eyes glistened with anger...though not to the extreme of earlier at this time. He spoke slowly, deliberately, and in a dangerously low tone as his eyebrows furrowed into an icy glare directed at Thanatos.

"I do believe you forgot what just happened not too long ago in the hangar when you attempted to ask that. I reccommend dropping that particular subject and leaving it be, never to pester me of it again....if you do not wish to discuss what happened with you, so be it...but do -not- presume to ask me to reveal my history in return for your story."

With that, Zeraxul dropped into a fuming silence for the time being, his anger beginning to build once more...though he would easily calm down if he was left alone about this particular touchy subject. He was far from as angry as he was earlier after losing to Janlu. He had used the memories associated with the scar to fuel his fury before in order to give himself a boost necessary to win his fights...in fact, that's how he had taken out the two council members, as that fury had fueled his force lightning to remarkable levels. He had caught them off guard with the ferocity behind it, and as such lost their lives. He would not hesitate to put down others who badgered him about his personal history he did not wish to discuss.

His sudden vehemence sort-of surprised Thanatos, but he knew he was getting answers. Either way, it did not matter to him, this was not an interrogation. As he had ways of making people tell him all there secrets, whether alive or dead.

However Zeraxul's rage over miniscule things was troubling for a sith and Thanatos was not fazed at all by his monologue of defiance. He replied with his unique derogatory tone, "Why would I remember such a useless 'scuffle'. For all intents and purposes you foolishly think that your past has any inkling of strife? You sound like a human woman with menopause, getting angry over every little thing.

At this point Thanatos snapped up a piece of meat, and regarded Janlu under a heavy brow. "As of now this is still a discussion, and I will not tolerate such outbreaks of emotion. At least not when there is food to be eaten. So then I will ask: do you have any questions?"

How much meat was left was the time limit he placed for them to ask their questions. When it was gone, he would either return to his room or break into a more suitable camp.

Thanatos' words caused Zeraxul to snap...again. Though this time, he knew a better way to cause Thanatos harm than simply attacking. This time, he unleashed all his anger on the food that was around itself. Without warning, he thrust his hand towards all the food, sending it flying quite a rather impressive distance away from their little group using the Force. As a result, the food would quite likely end up getting ruined as it ended up crashing into various objects and skidding along the ground....most likely breaking apart in the end into small fragments of the lage chunks of meat it had once been. He then turned on his heel and began walking back towards the temple once more, determined even more to be alone once again. He spoke to Thanatos as he walked away, not even giving him the respect of looking over his shoulder as he did such...though he was, of course, tense enough to be ready to react to any attacks.

"You might want to watch your tongue...next time, I might do more than deprive you of a bit of food that you seem so fond of at this moment."

His anger was sparked fully again...but at this point, he felt Thanatos as a more innefiecient channeling for this anger than certain other activities...perhaps practicing his Force lightning in the training room might work better. He needed to exhaust himself to get rid of his anger, it seemed.

Having kept silent the whole time, observing the two, she couldn't let them walk away with such childish moves. Tossing away the food was certainly uncalled for even given the situation. "Zeraxul!" Janlu called out before he could leave, saying his name for the first time since she met him. "That anger may help you in battle, but you better watch that temper. Everyone here, no matter how weak you may view them, should be treated with respect. Speaking of which..." she turned her view to Thanatos, now understanding what went on in the hangar, "if you know what bothers him, why must you continue to prod?" she scowled. "I shouldn't have to babysit either of you, learn to conrtol yourselves. While you are among us, we must be here to protect each other, not to destroy ourselves from the inside. Anyone who wishes to cause trouble may leave and look for it elsewhere. It will NOT be tolerated here, is that clear?" she ended calmly tossing a glance towards each of them to make sure they were listening. "If you need to blow off some steam, it should be directed at inanimate objects in the designated area, unless otherwise determined and supervised." Janlu sighed, regretting they had to be reminded, but hoping they'd keep in in mind.

As Thanatos knew that Zeraxul's temper would do something childish to prove his earlier point. He was quite surprised at what form however, though his stomach was already sated. What a waste... but the meat served its purpose, and besides some some scrap eater will come and that will draw more animals in this direction. So it was not a total loss.
Being reprimanded though showed who ranked above whom to Thanatos as well. It seems that Janlu was one of the leaders here regardless of her ability. So Thanatos with his usual confidence said, " I rightfully agree with you, I was only trying to point out the weakness of anger in civilized discussion, and as such Zeraxul pointed this out by his own actions."
Turning his head more towards Zeraxul's way he said, "The meat had served its purpose, regretfully it is a waste. However this will expand my hunting ground, so while it was done out of spite. You are actually helping me."
A thought occurred to him just now and he turned back to Janlu, "while the time limit is now up for questions, I can hunt another beast for you if you are still hungry."
Thanatos felt back to his accustomed self, and was quite confident now. As he had surmised before, time has a way of repairing ones education.

Zeraxul didn't pause when he heard his name called, but he did look over his shoulder to respond to Janlu.

"Respect is not something that will be freely given to all...it must be earned. You are already on the right path...this fool is doing the opposite."

By the time he had finished, he needed to speak a bit louder to make sure she heard him....but he was also at the same time out of earshot of ever one of Thanatos' words. As such, there was no reaction...rather difficult to respond to what is not heard. Fairly soon, he had re-entered the temple, wondering if he had perhaps maybe made a mistake in following Alinara here...but then, that life debt still hung over his head. There would not be any removing himself from that situation...he growled in frustration as he then proceeded to wander some hallways, seeking the Force training room so that he may perhaps unleash his wrath on something.
