They are in abundance! I'm talking 'bout the Inuyasha movies, Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokemon...
And of course, about wonderful films of Studio Ghibli.

I love anime movies! Lovely animation, great OSTs, and significantly less time to devote. xD
Some of my favorite anime movies are: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Summer Wars Sword of the Stranger The Cat Returns

The only one of those I've seen is The Cat Returns (boy did I love that.) I'd very much like to see Summer Wars though, it looks good.
I've never heard of Sword of the Stranger, what's it about?

rahna I've never heard of Sword of the Stranger, what's it about? Oh, wow. Sorry I missed your reply. xD;;; //derp
But here is the link to Sword of the Stranger's Wikipedia page. Also, No Name's character is another take on the real-life samurai that Kenshin (from Rurouni Kenshin) was modeled after. Which I thought was neat! :3
If you like samurai/feudal-era type stuff, gorgeous animation, with really cool fight scenes, you will like this movie. I really loved it, and I would recommend watching it dubbed because the dub is amazing. @u@ If you ever do watch it, let me know what you thought!

I've looked time and time again for good anime movies, and I've only come across a few that were good (apart from the Studio Ghibli ones of course xd ). So I thought it's about time I put together a list of some of my favorite anime movies.
Laputa castle in the sky Summer wars Nausicaa of the valley of wind Arrietty Howl's moving castle Spirited away Princess Mononoke Steamboy Whisper of the heart Tales from Earthsea Kiki's delivery service The cat returns The girl who leapt through time
These are the main ones, I think. Anyway, should keep you entertained for a while. Enjoy!
P.S: If you find any other good movies, please PM me!

I'm an awful person and haven't watched all of Miyazaki's movies yet. I'll fix that at some point.
I'm a huge fan of Satoshi Kon's movies. Millennium Actress is my personal favorite (and probably my favorite anime movie period), but all of his films are great. I really hope that whatever is going on with The Dream Machine gets figured out and the movie gets a release.
Mamoru Hosoda is newer, but I really enjoyed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars. I hope Ame to Yuki doesn't take too long to come over here.
I also saw Redline pretty recently. It's more style than substance, but it looks gorgeous and it's a movie that you can get swept up in pretty easily.
There are several movies attached to series that I've seen too. The first CCS movie is filler, but I really liked the second movie. I wouldn't rate either Eden of the East movie as highly as the TV series, but I liked them and thought they did a good job ending the series. The Utena movie is insane, but I love it to pieces anyway. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is my favorite part of the Haruhi franchise. The Conqueror of Shamballa... exists, I guess? The first FMA series is one of my favorite series, but I wasn't too big on the movie. I recently got ahold of the really nice LEs for the first two Patlabor movies for pretty cheap, although I've only watched the first one so far.

To be honest, Zephyr, there are some of his movies that I've yet to watch.
More shameful still, those are ones I really don't wanna see.. Grave of the Fireflies is much too depressing and Pom Pokko...yeah, that doesn't sound like my type of movie. -heard about it from her best friend-
I heard about Millennium Actress, that sounded like an awfully sad movie. crying I've never heard of The Dream Machine though, what's that about?
Ooh, so the same person to do TGWLTT did Summer Wars! emotion_kirakira Maybe SW will show up at our library too, I really wanna see it.
Redline...yeah, never even heard of that. I like substance more than style though, so I might give it a pass. (Sounds narrow-minded of me eh?)
Oooh...! -flails- How could you not like Conquerer of Shamballa?! Or rather, who could you have such a flat opinion on it? It did a magnificent job on wrapping up the series and who'd have ever thought the gate lead to our world? That was a magnificent twist.

rahna To be honest, Zephyr, there are some of his movies that I've yet to watch.
More shameful still, those are ones I really don't wanna see.. Grave of the Fireflies is much too depressing and Pom Pokko...yeah, that doesn't sound like my type of movie. -heard about it from her best friend- Fireflies is fantastic, but it's not even remotely a happy movie. I haven't watched Pom Poko. rahna I heard about Millennium Actress, that sounded like an awfully sad movie. crying I've never heard of The Dream Machine though, what's that about? I don't think the movie's all that sad, actually. Yeah, she never meets the painter again, but it's also pretty clear at the end of the movie that that isn't what she really wants. > She's aware that she's a different person than when she met the painter, and that he's probably changed too. Living through her films seems like a deliberate choice of hers to me. Hence why she's happier chasing him than actually finding him again. < There's not a lot of information about the plot, but what I've gathered is that it's targeted at younger audiences (all of Kon's other movies are definitely for adults) and the main characters are robots. rahna Ooh, so the same person to do TGWLTT did Summer Wars! emotion_kirakira Maybe SW will show up at our library too, I really wanna see it. Try inter-library loans. I'd guess that you can find another nearby library that has it. He also did the first two Digimon movies and one episode of Adventure. rahna Redline...yeah, never even heard of that. I like substance more than style though, so I might give it a pass. (Sounds narrow-minded of me eh?) It depends. My favorite anime fall more into the 'substance' side, but I also like it when series use unique art styles. Something like The Tatami Galaxy or House of Five Leaves that has good writing and a weird art style is just awesome. biggrin rahna Oooh...! -flails- How could you not like Conquerer of Shamballa?! Or rather, who could you have such a flat opinion on it? It did a magnificent job on wrapping up the series and who'd have ever thought the gate lead to our world? That was a magnificent twist. Do I need to say anything besides Nazi Hughes? Being serious, I'm in the middle of rewatching the series right now and I'll probably rewatch the movie with it so my opinion might change. But while I remember not being entirely happy with the 2003 anime's ending, I don't remember the movie doing much to tie up loose ends beyond getting rid of the remaining homunculi and reuniting Ed and Al. I am also slightly annoyed because Al is my favorite character and I didn't like his characterization going from 'clear foil for Ed that can still work on his own when necessary' in the series to 'Ed 2' in the movie. I like Ed plenty, but you don't need two of him. Even moreso since the relationship between the two was so well-done in the series. The gate thing was in the series. Although I agree that it was a clever way to explain how alchemy worked.
