The city is filled with as many excuses as the people that fill it. As any regular person walks the streets they hear these excuses, over and over. "I can't, I am busy." one says as another claims to be ill. It is a rush of people trying to make their lives easier by not making others the same. This is what humanity is, and always has been. One cannot find a human who doesn’t think of only themselves. In a brief moment, one may have a thought or slight action that could benefit another, however, it is something so small that it could not be counted. In the event that this does happen, it is something that would never completely inconvenience the one committing the act, and they do it because they expect something in return. Human invade the entire world in all of its far reaches with their selfishness. Animals are hunted for sport and some are almost extinct because of their actions. They take the trees of the land, pollute the air with oil, all for themselves. Humans reach everywhere, however, in this city, it seems the worst. This city has more crime than any in the world. In this city you can find no trees. In this city you can find no animals other than those treated as common pets. In this city no human does a favor for another and all keep to themselves other than small families. This is where the corruption is viewed as the worst by the spirits, so this is where they released their monster.
Life is something to be cherished. It is something grand, something meaningful, and something that can only be experienced once. That is, unless the spirits deem it so. Even humans know of the preciousness of life, they die everyday. Humans feel bad for those that leave this realm. However, this is not because they feel bad for the person, or the family. Deep down, humans only are sad when others die because they know that they will suffer the same fate some day. They know that their time is limited and they fear the afterlife because of their constant selfishness that leaves a blot on their soul. The spirits know this, and this is why they have sent the demon to their door. This is why the Crimson Slayer has come, straight from the nightmares of its first victim, Olivia Lulu Ward.

Main Character: Olivia Lulu Ward
My name is Olivia Lulu Ward and I am a woman working in an antique shop. I am a very pale white girl who just recently had her 18th birthday. Recently my job has been very stressful because not much has been going on there lately, we've had enough customers to get by, but even the ones we have. . . something just is off about them. I nearly kicked one out last week. I have always loved cats, especially the black ones with the white bellies and paws, though I do not remember why. I have a stuffed animal of it that looks like This. I do not know why, but I always have it with me. It tends to calm me down, and make me feel at ease, especially after the attack. When I was young I had a mother, father and two siblings. My mother worked as an accountant and my father as a small appliance mechanic. My brother's name was Colin and he was about seven years older than me and my little sister was three years younger. We didn't make a whole lot of money, but it was enough to get by and with a little luck and some savings, we could afford luxury items once in a while. Being the middle child meant that whatever attention my parents did have for us, it usually didn't go to me. Whenever I did something noteworthy, my brother did something better or got into some kind of trouble, and my little sister was always sucking up to them. After she turned about eight I didn't mind too much. By then I had enough of living in a house with four other people and preferred being on my own. The attacker is called the crimson slayer, but I didn't hear that for him. All I remember is that he was in his mid twenties, he used a sword and he wore a bright red ribbon that was tied to his jacket. Since he attacked me he has mainly be aiming for nearly graduated college students along with some that have connections to me. I almost want to remember what happened on that Thursday afternoon all those years ago, but I suppose I forgot for a reason. Remembering the event in full could even make me more of a target to the killer as well.
