It is unclear of where Thanatos was born, however there are record logs of his passage to several planets in the Republic.

At the estimated age of 3, Thanatos was seen and involved in the massacre of several Noble families within the planet of Onderon. Though with each case it would seem that he had no connection, just seemed to be in the area at the time and place.

By the next year in his life, Thanatos was seen with a reputedly dangerous SIth lord named "Darth Reyezt" most known for his profession and mastery of Alchemy, and through its use created a biological bomb that destroyed several known cities through out Republic space. It is at this point in Thanatos's life that it is assumed that he was trained by the Sith Lord.

Throughout Thanatos's childhood, he was reported to have done similarly dangerous tasks, more than likely given by his master. Such as the case of his assassination of the jedi master: Master Dorvuhn. and the case of political espionage within the Republic itself.

Thanatos's years in pubescence began rapidly changing as his master gave him more and more dangerous tasks. Thanatos all the while completing each with quiet solitude. One time as him and his master visiting a Sith Academy (later found and subdued by the Republic), a student described Thanatos personality: " When he looked at you, it seemed as if he was soaking every bit of information as possible, then began pinpointing every emotional weakness that you had". The boy that was interrogated, shortly died through a strange illness right after questioning.

At the age of 15, Thanatos and his master had been finally tracked down. However, subduing or even killing Thanatos and his master was something else all to itself. Even pitted against several Jedi masters, Darth Reyezt did not fall. At this moment before the final survivor (a republic soldier too cowardly and thus out of combat), was found and killed, Thanatos killed and destroyed his master as his master's attention was elsewhere. The horrified soldier, then witnessed Darth Reyezt's total demise as even his soul was being drained and absorbed into Thanatos's being. (After this report the soldier was stripped of rank for cowardly action).

After the slaughter, the whereabouts of Thanatos is unclear as he disappeared into the jungles of Dxun. Several attempts to apprehend the increasingly dangerous Sith have proved "unsuccessful" And later on, as the years went by with inactivity, the Republic have decried that Thanatos was dead... at least until he was discovered in The Jedi outcast's temple training grounds.
