Author Notes:
I've been wanting to do Lethe and Mnemosyne for a while now. Blame that last Sailor Moon graphic novel, which I read and went "Ooo..."
Anyhoo, this is a bit philosophical of me, but notice that Lethe's appearance is prim and proper. There's not a spec of dirt on her at all, while Mnemosyne is disheveled and dirty.
And to clear things up, Shi appears about ten or eleven and the two guardians of the river of death appear about seven or eight.
EDIT: Yes, yes Meiro is probably the only person that can really piss off Shi. At least until Arashi gets into the picture.

Lethe~ God greek myths give us such pretty names heart
I want to see more of this, I new there had to be other people in Shi's realm. n fact the other day I was wondering if Shi had a janitor and what it would look like, eventually I thought it would resemble a miniature streetsweeper xd

See, now I want to make Charon the janitor xD! Or the blind prophet from the Odyssey. I'm actually going to be thinking on this some.
Yeah, I've been wanting to do those two for a bit, and there are a few other myths going to be tossed into this to flesh out the realm of the dead a good deal more.
Sooo tempted to have Cerebus show up and while everyone's quaking in their boots, Mnemosyne just reaches up and snuggles him, all the while talking about how cute he is.
And yes, in her spare time Lethe drop-kicks the shades who decide to take their sweet time drinking her waters. She probably the most violent person in the realm.

I'm taking a good deal of liberty here, since in actual myths the two aren't sisters, Mnemosyne is one of the Titans and the mother of the nine muses, while Lethe is one of the five rivers in Hades and the daughter of Eris.
But them being twins (which I have to give Naoko Takeuchi, the writer of Sailor Moon, credit for) makes so much sense.
Sooooooooooooo much sense. The two naturally oppose and compliment each other.
And he already is. xd

And we get to see one of the many ways that Mnemosyne collects memories for her rivers.
I chose fireflies over butterflies to carry souls of the dead btw.

You know, this reminds me that I should reread Sailor Moon. I never did finish the whole series (since they released it once again, I might go and buy it sometime).
I have one volume in Japanese where this guy believed in the princess of the moon named Kaguya and Luna was in love him and she was changed into a princess for a short while.
And yay Obito. Why hasn't he been edo tensei in the manga anyways? I thought that would be a good scene for Kakashi to me with him.
Also, I am trying to imagine Shi with that big book of his. xd

It's HUGE, like literally a little over half his size. xd
That's a good start for the series actually, since it was a special that she did, so it's pretty stand-alone.
I actually boycott Revolutionary Girl Utena because the director of the anime series is the same as for Sailor Moon, and he made SUCH A BIG DEAL out of working with the mangaka for RGU when he pretty much RAPED SM story-wise.
Oh, there are other reasons, but that's the MAIN one.
And for this story to work, those brought back with Edo Tensei have NOT drunk from Lethe. Also, you'll notice that there are a few, like Obito, that are working for Shi now (reasons will be forthcoming) and those didn't get brought back with the technique either.
Just me feeling in blanks mostly xD
